Ah man I can't tell you how long I've been looking for this track. Heard it about 15 years ago (I was 2 when this dropped). No name or anything, I've never forgot the sound of it and now here it is. Honestly @mickeybeam75 thank you!!
Agreed mate, amazing tune. He was behind so many tracks that you may have missed Neil, stuff like DJ Fokus, DJ Crystl, etc, worth searching for some stuff in case you've missed some of them - his production style is quite distinctive (and amazing) and kind of runs through most of the stuff he collaborated on :)
He's a class act for sure. His production work for DJ Rap and on Future Sound of Hardcore are also worth mentioning... but this track, maaaan what a beauty! His more recent release (2015?) on Tempo is well worth checking out as well, he's still got it!
The other side of this, 'Eastern Promise' is good but not on this level. 'Haunted' and 'Knowledge' are similar. 'Hypersleep', in particular, and 'Desire' are special and feature on his album, 'Future Retro' on R&S which is very much loved these days. However, Pete Parsons aka Voyager is most revered as an engineer and co-writer of tunes for numerous big names and legendary producers from the golden era. His solo output is limited but you've got an absolute treasure-trove to explore elsewhere and there are many tunes every bit as good as this absolute classic. Pete Parsons engineered for DJ Crystl, DJ Trace, DJ Rap, DJ Fokus to name only a few. Tunes to get you started would be DJ Crystl 'Meditation', 'Sweet Dreamz' and 'Let it Roll'. MI5 (DJ Crystl) - 'Experience'. DJ Trace 'Miles High', 'After Hours' and 'By Any Means Necessary'. DJ Fokus - 'Brave New World' and 'Pulse'. Some of these tunes are amongst the most revered in the entire history of the scene and Pete Parsons made all of them.
In addition, if you like this, you should definitely check out some DJ mixes. LTJ Bukem is the king of this sound. Promised Land Vol 1 is one of his best mixes, features this tune and has MC Conrad in full effect and it's on UA-cam. Logical Progression is the compilation of LTJ Bukem's Good Looking/Looking Good records and is legendary. You want the original mix rather than the one that was released in the late 90s. That's the second CD. The first is filled with highlights from that label - the premier label of this sound. Checking that will give you a gateway into many of this scene's top producers. The Bukem '95 and '96 Radio One Essential mixes are seminal. Fabio - Promised Land 2 also features a range of great tracks and numerous Pete Parsons productions. Other great artists to check out of a similar ilk are Photek - made tunes in this style up to '96 - my favourite producer, Intense, Source Direct up to '96, Wax Doctor - check out 'The Spectrum', Peshay up to '96 and Rob Playford's Moving Shadow label also had a group of producers making this sound and their two 'Storm from the East' compilations are a good starting point. Rob Playford made numerous DJ mixes around '96 that showcase their take on this sound and are absolutely mindblowing. Enjoy!
Definitely in my top 10 favourite jungle tracks of all time, in no particular order.
Peak mid 90's soundscape - proper time warp track!
One of the greats. Pete Parsons doing his thing.
95 to 2000 was a fucking awesome time. wish i could do it again. i wouldve moved to England had i known better
91-96 you would had a blast in NYC thanks to DB, Dara, Soul Slinger, and the rest of the crew that banged out these gems on the regular
1992-1994
Made a mix tape back in the day for my girl at the time… this goes out to Brunty. I hope you’re safe, well and loved wherever you are ❤❤

The pads and vocals are bliss
Perfect tune
Just like slipping into a warm bath or coming home.
Post-94' Jungle really ramps up in those experimentative sectors while DnB develops further
Sensational. Superb.
