Crispin has the most unusual energy of anybody ever. Like he's confident but a complete introvert at the same time. I feel like all of his answers are sincere but also like he might collect squirrel skins in his basement.
People are going to miss this man more than they realize when he’s gone. Although this was closer to decades ago than not. Always cherish true artists in person whenever you all can while they are doing what they do. Never ever ever rely upon the assorions that whoever they are but that “they@ will “always be around” because they may have prior to your awareness. I’ve seen thousands of shows from every Beatle but Lennon, to CSNY Iggy, Bowie, (sadly no Lou) but thousands of different acts from Simon & Garfunkel to Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds and also Smile to Radiohead post Sid reunion Sex Pistols and even nirvana in 93 and the first few lollapaloozas and all those artists and the 4TB through 7th Coachella and and and so many more but go see artists live asap. Peace and love
Thats one of my favourite crispin glover characters. The film is unrelentingly grim but then crispin is so over the top, and frankly comical. It shouldnt work, and yet alot of the film's brilliance is owed to his performance... honestly I think about him in that film all the time
Even though crispin is kind of baffled by nardwuar's shtick and isnt really into the contemporary music scene, theres a strong kindred sort energy going on here. He really matches nard's hunger for like... thinking.
I got the chance to see the show and What Is It a bit before the panini and it was one of the craziest movie/theatre experiences in existence. It really is a long show, well over three hours with the Q&A at the end. They guys at the theatre kept coming to pointing at their watches and Crispin was like , yeah we'll be done soon... hour and half later they come in again. It was truly amazing. Crispin can really talk forever. I think Nardwuar might have met his match in quirky weirdness.
@@DeconvertedMan during the slideshow/bookreading at the beginning I was so caught of guard by just the pure absurdity of what I was witnessing. I was just sitting there wide eyed and about halfway through I had a laughing fit that basically continued until the movie. 100% recommend if you ever get the chance to see it just be aware going in that you have to have an open mind, sit through the painful parts (I did have moments where I was asking myself if I should get up and leave) and listen to what Crispin has to say at the end. River's Edge is such an Amazing Movie Crispin Glover's performance in that film is an all time classic. I put it on last week and my wife sat down and watched it with me I didn't tell her anything about it. Halfway through the movie my wife stands up and starts doing the hand motions and body gestures that Crispin does in the movie. It's hilarious and dramatic at the same time. Bateman was supposed to be like a yuppie. A slick, completely normal businessman type who’s vain, obsessed with fitness and wealth, but secretly a monster. Glover’s one of my fav actors, but I don’t see him pulling off Bateman’s exterior, “normal”, superficial yuppie type. He’s rarely, if ever, played normal. Now, he could play Bateman’s inner monologue, maybe. 🤣
In some ways he reminds me of John Cassavetes - how he would do his "commercial" acting gigs to bankroll his groundbreaking independent films. I'm sure he also learned a lot from his father on how to survive in Hollywood.
