- Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan says it’s a “bit strange” that Prince Harry raced in to see King Charles after his cancer diagnosis to then only spend less than an hour with him.
On Tuesday Buckingham Place made a shock announcement revealing King Charles III had been diagnosed with cancer after he underwent a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate at the London Clinic on January 26.
“It’s a bit strange isn’t it that he would fly 6,000 miles taking a whole day to get here and he ends up with reportedly 30 minutes … with his father at Clarence House in London before his father gets on a helicopter and goes to the estate at Sandringham,” he told Sky News Australia.
“I think in a normal family if you flew across the world to see a member of your family … your father whoever it may be, you would expect to get a little more face time than perhaps 30 minutes.
“So I think that’s indicative of still the slight iciness between Harry and almost all the royals.”

He arrived with two hard shell suitcases which suggests to me he really thought he was getting put up in a royal residence and being welcomed back because he’d made out he was all concerned. The fact his dad spent less than an hour and left for Sandringham says a lot…
The fact Harry had suitcases also says a lot - he intended to stay a LOT longer and I think once he realised he wasn’t getting free accommodation, he went back. No one brings two suitcases for ONE day of visit.

H knew the protocol that if he wants to stay longer in the country (for personal visits), he needed to notify the Palace 28 days in advance so that his security/accommodation can be planned accordingly. H (with M) probably thought that the King being ill is a chance to ignore those security protocols. Imagine, a dramatic coming "home" with all the press getting footage of it all. And he gets to stay next to the King while he gets his treatment....yes, that must be their PR plan.

This is not about Harry and Meghan. But every time something is going on about RF whether personal, celebration or work engagements the narcissistic pair will find ways or do something too so they will be in the limelight. I respectfully disagree. He fled the UK immediately after his grandfather's funeral (refused to stay for his grandmother's birthday a few days later), fled immediately after his grandmother's funeral and immediately fled after his father's coronation. Hardly a surprise he took off after spending minutes with his father. He cares about no one but himself and has proven this time and again. He went there for appearances sake and to ensure he's still in the will, IMO. I don't believe for one second he was there out of genuine concern for his father. He cares about no one but himself. Pierce, what I heard, and what makes total sense to me, is Charles was unhappy with Harry dashing over the way he did because of the optics. It made it seem like it’s very dire situation which, according that we’ve been told , Charles is wholly optimistic that the cancer is quite manageable. I believe that Harry did this as a PR move possibly to distract from African parks. I understand Charles’ concern about the message Harry’s visit is sending. It certainly elevated my concern for the King. As you said, any cancer is serious, and needs to be taken very seriously but I don’t believe that Harry went over out of deep concern for his father. I think there’s another agenda going on. In the meantime, Megan, who must be the center of attention at all times, arranged for herself to be ‘papped’ driving her car somewhere! The King must protect his Queen and his beloved daughter in law from further cruelty from Montecito. Given the circumstances, the King has been forced to choose a side, and all bets are off for Harry.
Lady C made a fantastic statement that the reason Harry alerted everybody at back grid that he was flying out of LA and alerted everybody at London, that he was arriving was because his visit was not planned. He was not invited, he showed up and because of all the publicity king Charles had no choice, but to see him. She said the meeting was only 12 minutes. She said he could’ve easily come in and left and saw his father but because all these paparazzi knew when he was driving into LAX airport in California knew when he was arriving in London was very evident that this was a staged publicity PR to remind everyone he is the kings son. I have to say I 100% agree with her and I don’t think that they told Harry it was cancer until it was made public so that he could not leak it. I think he came out on the first plane when he knew it was cancer not when he was first diagnosed cause. I don’t think they told him before they told the public.

Good points. I don't think a 75 y.o. man battling cancer has the strength for visits. I haven't heard that the rest of the family was dropping in. I would imagine, with medications and the stress, KC would be feeling weak and possibly nauseous. He probably just wanted to go home and rest.

My husband had a mass removed from his pancreas. It turned out as precancerous but they removed 20 lymph nodes and found cancer in one. He had a 6 month course of chemo and has to have scans every 3 years for 5 years until he can be condidered free of cancer.it’s a long process. Harry going over I think was a knee jerk reaction. I’m afraid for him that he has lost the trust of his family by blabbing his mouth about stuff that should have been kept in the family.
Maybe the conversation got very tense about H’s behaviour.
he was never called to come. am sure he did it for show and to get secrets and see if he could split the inheritance. so shameful he has to stay in a hotel. Didn't even stay to see his mates or anything. cuz he has none here.Good riddance

Can you imagine how many germs Harry was carrying from the flight, breathing in everyones breath, every flight i have been on i usually get a cold or something. The King needs to be careful around people who could be carrying germs. So not the best idea of Harry to go straight to see the King from a long distance flight. Maybe arrange to stay awhile before seeing his father to keep him safe.
He did it because of how he treated his grandmother when she was so sick and asked him to visit and he didn't then she died and he wasn't there either. Now, people won't be able to say, he didn't even go to his father when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Plus Harry has just sat with many other people on a plane with A/C spreading germs aroumd for 10 hours & then going to visit his dad who has just had his first chemotherapy,which oncologists will tell you you should not mix,as you become immuno compromised whilst on chemo.
I know this myself as a cancer patient,who stayed in isolation in my home for 6 months durimg my treatment.
It could well be that he was there to sign documents, especially as Beatrice was seen also. This would also explain the short time and maybe the King did not see him??? Ots like a mystery novel.

My friend had cancer and under treatment, I went to see her and she kept vomitting and nothing was coming up. There were a few other people there at my friend's house. It was painful to watch and my friend did not want me to see her like that, so I had to leave shortly. You don't know if this is the same with King Charles and Harry. I wish the media would give coverage in favour of the King Charles and Harry. He is not well. They are father and son. Who else can Harry extend his stay with if his dad is not well and feeling vulnerable? Just give these people a break and be kind

It has already been stated last year that in order to stay at one of the royal residences it takes over a week for the staff to prepare. Rooms not in use go into a "dormant" state so are given a total revamp when needed.

For Harry to rush to his father seems hypocritical really but I guess if he hadn’t Harry would have been crucified by the media. He hasn’t even begun to understand the gravity of all he and his wife have said and done. He has caused major stress and embarrassment globally to his grandparents his father his brother and sister in law. Poor KC3 must find it very hard watching his youngest son being controlled by a Medusa. Harry thought he should visit his father just to secure his inheritance in case his dad dies. Harry's behavior the past four years caused his father a lot of stress - which could have triggered the cancer. Harry flew to London without making an appointment, thinking he is entitled to his father's time on his demand. The fact that his father did not hesitate to proceed with his appointment and that he did not offer Harry any accommodation or tried to reschedule the meeting with Harry shows that Harry failed miserably. For me it looks as if reconciliation is not going to happen any time soon.
