I love this video. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
Where can I buy this valve body/tcm ? Or how can I repair my tcm if the sport mode feature is shorted at the tcm? Any advice? Thanks
WIT, Transtar, Ebay, Dorman or dealer. Personally I would get it from the dealer.
Where are you located?
Amzing video!! thanks for share your experience, knowledge and time!! very helpful, Thanks for all
Thanks. Thanks for watching.
Any big differences between the Caddy 6l45 vs the BMW 6l45?
Just pump and valve body.
Just amazed at the speed and precision that you work ! We appreciate you taking the time to video and share your expertise . I know youve helped alot of folks out of a jam.
Thanks for watching.
Would you recommend using new bearings when rebuilding a 170k trans?
Also I haven't bought the zip kit yet, do I really need it?
I have not seen a bearing fail yet. But it is just a matter of time. They can only last so long. So, I would say yes. As far as the Zip Kit. You will either need it or a new valve body and new stator. Now sometimes you can buy the 2 valve body halves for not much more than the Zip Kit costs. The failure starts in the valve body and pressure regulator valve in the stator. Once the wear gets severe enough the torque converter is going to fail. If you don't fix it, you will keep taking out torque converters.
@@CurmudgeonTransmission That makes sense, Thank you. Do you think that a 180$ remanufactured valve body is a good deal, or would you say that it's better to rebuild it with new parts? btw thank you so much for the response, it's been a major help! Also how do you check if the solenoids are good?
I would wonder what has been done to it. Sounds too cheap. There is a special tool. They do not go bad that often. Did you have any codes? Usually you can rebuild the pressure switches and it is good to go.
I don't thinknthere was any code, the trans just started to hesitate a fair amount when accelerating and I wanted to solve the problem before it got worse.
If i'm only doing one job do I need to use the transgel. Or is there something else that would work good?
You can use Vaseline.
@@CurmudgeonTransmission Wow! Thank you for replying so fast! I wasn't expecting that
Awesome video,thanks !

Hello, on my bmw e90 328i when switching 2-3 a strong kick. does not depend on the temperature of the liquid, the harder you press the gas, the stronger the kick. There are no errors. Maybe you have encountered this problem?
No I have not. Since you are only having problems in one gear I would be looking at something in the valve body.
I have the same e90 6l45 and have the exact same issue. But I do have 2 egs codes for high pressure in sensor A & C
@@urtwodadz397 my problem was related to the wear of the piston seals in the 3/5/R drum. Wear of the seals on one side led to uneven wear of the clutches. I think your problem has a different origin.
Thanks you
Welcome
Not your first rodeo, is it? 😊
Done a few.
Good job
Thanks
