It is a Caterpillar motor unsure of the type. It still runs apparently.

The old pony motor start jobs would start right along if they got limbered up whenever. The old pony was the best at getting one smoking after they sat for years too. LOTS better than straight battery but were good with glow plugs.@@ScenicDriveProductions

The old pony's will run as long as they have gas and oil, their exhaust is run through the diesel intake to heat the incoming air and their cooling is the same as the diesel so the pony will get the diesel ready to run with the compression off and no fuel. I always drank a cup 0f coffee with the pony at idle and the diesel turning slow with no compression in order to warm up the pony.Then flip the compression on, rev the pony and open the fuel. Usually fired on one cylinder at a time and eventually getting them all.@@ScenicDriveProductions

I know where an old Model-6 is that's about like that, Cat pony diesel and all. If I was younger and had a place to dip sand out of................but I ain't.@@ScenicDriveProductions
