Charlie (copperheadmarine) was nice enough to go get my new farm toy, bought a older case backhoe to help with some chores on the farm. Check out the farm Channel ( FarmlifeNC)
I don't think anybody puts grease fittings on the bottom of the bucket anymore , They have learned the pins and bushings last a lot longer running them dry than having grease in their to hold sand and gravel in their to cause faster and more wear ! Looks great , enjoy
That will be a great tool for you on the farm especially if you can find a pair of fold over fork lift tines for the front bucket - its amazing what they can lift. What are the various filters like considering it has been on or near the beach?
Those are awesome machines best ones case made and still make it's the 590 now take care of her and she will out live you I've been hunting for one for my farm but up north they all have enclosed glass cabs so price goes up what did u pay ball park
Wow what a steal I'd keep her at that price can't go wrong with this one could even use it on a few jobs I love them because you can register them and drive them to the job
They don't put a nipple on that bottom pin because the grease will get dirt in it and will actually cause more wear than without. I think if you look you will find that there is none on the bottom of the foot, and possibly none on the upper part too.
Indeed, I feel the same. What's weird on ours though, is the top link of the bucket dump cylinders, there is no nipple. I think the pin is supposed to be made of a softer metal though.
letsdig18 I one time had a full speck 580G glazed brilliant little digger it also had no grease nipples on the curl n pins bizarre, Is yours powered by a DB ,,,?
No grease zirks. Case engineers figured that due to position literally being in the dirt, grease would attract and hold dirt thereby increasing the wear. They use especially hard pins and bushings to reduce wear rate in leu of greasing. That's what they told us in sales training.
Check the fuel tank and the hydraulic tank, where the Loader arms connect and the engine mounts are. K's have been know to develop cracks, I know mine has a crack in the fuel tank.
I think you should put a new coat of paint on it, and new tires etc. Don't flip it to make some money. Charlie did go through all that work, time, and money to get it for you. Don't take advantage of someone's generosity. That is just my opinion though. I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life. Lol. Do what you want with it. It's not mine. If it was mine though and a friend did that all for me I'd definitely keep it for sure.
Yeah he could, but money is money. Once its gone its gone. With the backhoe its still there and can be put to work on the farm like he said. Charlie can say do you remember when I drove all that distance for that thing? Its kind of like memories I guess.
nuttin wrong with that 580 pard just soft pins in the arm N bucket pins! case had there heads in there asses when they signed the contract for the pins for these macheines lol but PFFT u update the pins and she's a fine macheine I've put 21 thousand hrs on a 580k! on the ranch here loadin alfalfa straw bales and diggin many holes and pushin snow u name it! she's done it!
Charlie's a good man and that backhoe is still going..
Looks like a nice little rig for the farm. Hope to see some running vids soon.

it had just been serviced, all new filters and fluids changed.
That's really good then especially as you managed to buy it for a good price!

charlies got a smart rig now
That's my personal truck. I bought it for myself not my drivers. The plan was for no one but me to drive it.....But you know how it goes.

that's what I was told, I just love greasing stuff and it bothers me to see a dry pin!

Did you flip the hoses to change the pattern to SAE, or are you wingin it with BHL
im curious, we dont have this style of floats over here, is it easier for you guys this way or just personal preference
i like case backhoes my dad just bought a 2005 case super m 580
That's odd that there wouldn't be a grease fitting there. I wonder if it had greasable pins at one point on the previous owner took them out....

I'm sure Chris didn't let Charlie go without some sort of payment in return. :)
It's all good he will pay me, But even if he didn't I would have done it!
copperheadmarine You're a good friend, Charlie!
The sandbox has got to be made bigger, I'm thinking ! ( I'm just jealous.)
Now that is a TRUE friend! *wag, wag, wag...* BTW, my Mommy is extremely jealous... She's wanted a small backhoe for years now!!!
nice buy.... They get the job done thats all that matters
how much you pay for that thing?

I'm sure you 2 worked out some kind of barter agreement... boy it sure doesn't need a paint job and that will be in another video

Looks like junk, but if it does you for a few more years, it's worth the money. You can always sell it for parts later.
the pivot that has no grease point is cuz case never had problem with it so dont fix what aint broke
john deer puts a grease fitting on that pin you where talking about
You don't have your own gear?
piece of crap???? I'll trade you I've got a 69 case 580 lol
