My daughter is a junior doctor in a London hospital. I was as emotional as you when we heard all that cheering! A big clap to all key workers we are so grateful 🙏
It is so lovely that you captured this, it was part of history and was a strange time. It felt surreal then, but in some ways it seems even stranger looking back, that all that really happened. It really brought back memories, of standing on a Thursday and clapping. We did that on our street and, just as you, the first time I wondered whether there would only be a few people, or maybe we would be the only ones. I remember a wave of emotion coming over me when I heard the clapping and banging of saucepans... I'm watching this on 1st March 2024, it brought it all back and it was just as moving seeing it again.
So went from cracking up laughing when you got the wiff of weed at 7.30 am, (every londoner can relate to a sudden random wiff of weed as you're walking along.) To balling my eyes out when you were on the roof. Back to cracking up again at your mum's reaction to the article in the paper. Brilliant! Thanks for your vlogs Jo. Especially at the moment.
Thank you for your UA-cam posts. I live in central California but I feel like I’m a part of your community. The English people are so strong and inspiring. Would love to sit with your mother in her beautiful garden and chat over a cup of tea. ❤️ Diane
Jo can you PLEASE tell your beautiful Mum that I live all the way in Sydney Australia, and that she absolutely made my week, I have had a very sick daughter for the last 6 months, we have battled fires, the floods and now I am trying to keep COVID19 away from my daughter and it was your mum that made me, not only, smile but laugh. She is such a treasure, I love a humble soul. XX.
Your Mum is brilliant. I loved her reaction particularly after all the emotion of the NHS applause. Keep the blogs up. We need them more than ever now. You’re now our eyes on the world. X
Lockdown is certainly bringing out peoples true colours - you're like a rainbow Jo. When the cloud breaks, you're that ray of sunshine. Stay well and strong. Hello from East Finchley ; - ) x
Just like you Jo, I became extremely emotional seeing everyone Clap for our carers. I loved seeing Mum enjoy the sunshine in the garden...so much effort into getting the perfect position too! I also think you’re amazing for going to wave at mum in the garden, she will truly appreciate that. I can’t risk doing that with Nanny Betty as she wouldn’t understand why I can’t cuddle her. Thanks for cheering me up this morning as I lay cuddled up in bed with Freddie and Dolly feeling rotten! X
Jo, I must mention that London Zoo (and all others) are suffering dreadfully because there is no income from visitors. They still have to feed the animals and their future is under threat if they cannot raise funds. I am making a donation and hope that others who can will consider doing so. I hate to think of animals having to be put down.
Lyn you are right .PLEASE donate everyone if you can...the manager came on my radio show and said the keepers are all sleeping there...but the patting animals are pining for our attention
Yes it was so emotional hearing everyone clap. I just love your mum and your relationship she is fabulous. Lost my mum 44 years ago when I was 14. I ve been thinking of her lot lately. She taught me so much to always be in a state of preparedness and how to make a meal out of nothing. Stay safe and well and positive. Lots of love x
I so enjoyed this, Jo. I got so teary-eyed at your city-wide salute to the NHS workers. What a wonderful treat to see. Thanks so much for sharing that with us. Your mother is such a treasure! Lots of love to her and you. Blessings from California XXX
You're so flexible, it's incredible. I felt very emotional when we all stood and clapped, like many I wasn't sure people in my street would do it, but they certainly did. You're mum cracks me up!
Hi Jo, your mum breaks my heart with her adorable-ness. How lucky are you to have her still 🙂 The clapping for the NHS brought me to tears too and I don’t even live in the UK. Cheers from Australia
Love your mom, she's precious. Another great vlog. Very emotional when all the clapping started. We're all good and kind people when it comes down to it. Mostly all good and kind people! :-)
Jo, your mother is priceless!! I love her. I don’t blame you for being emotional on Thursday evening, I was too. Loving your vlogs and the yoga was amazing! X
Goodness that was emotional in parts. What a lovely walk you have there on your doorstep and ever your mother being a star without meaning to be. Thx for posting Jo, keep broadcasting please and stay safe. Adrian
Love your vlogs and to see beautiful London. The recognition for the NHS was so mo ing. I'm with you. The parks and flowers are memorable and I adore your mum and Mathilda. Listen to your radio show every morning. Keep on trucking in these strange times, we need you
Jo you have cheered me up this Sunday and your mums reaction had me in stitches , in these awfully frightening depressing times you have given the day a little joy ❤️🌷x
Your mum is amazing and like her attitude to inconsequential nonsense. I trust that she will be safe and well during this very challenging time. Best wishes and much love to her.
My girl is an ICU nurse. I hadn’t seen the the NHS clapping. Thank you so much. I cried. I’m so proud. Thank you. I’m so far away. Outback Aussie keeping a camp kitchen going. Love your channel
So emotional seeing and hearing the support for the caregivers. With all of this going on it’s wonderful that you take the time to show them the support they so deserve. Loved seeing your moms reaction to herself in the paper! She is a real gem!! You are so blessed to still have her with you. And you are an inspiration doing your yoga Jo. Thank you for sharing!!
I am in a small village in Surrey, and my husband and I went outside to clap the NHS and we could hear in the distance, others doing the same . Then my son, who lives in Chelsea, sent us a video of what my London sounded like and it was so moving! Xx
Love to you from the East Midlands Jo. I miss my pupils and hope they are all keeping well. We are indeed living through history. Love to all fellow Minxes. Xxx
A bright spot in my day. I work in medical education administration at a University and have been working at home for several weeks. I am such a boring coworker and my dogs are just useless assistants, sleeping, play fighting and barking, and don't forget the many breaks they need. Never have I been so diligent yet inefficient in doing my job. The salute to caregivers was very heartwarming. All of my coworkers are in the thick of it and I cannot escape constant updates and meetings. You are much appreciated.
Thank you , thank you , thank you Jo .. for your fabulous spirit and wonderful channel. The clapping in appreciation of the incredible NHS workers got me too! I'm in self - isolation in Toronto with my huge Norwegian Forest cat George . My 80 yr old Mum is in England and am so thankful for Skype ! Stay well , very best wishes to you, Tilds & your Mum 💕
As always, loved tuning in to you on a Sunday morning Jo.....your Mum is just hilarious......lovely post with loads of emotion, we need your positivity during these strange times xxx
I love to listen to the church bells. Hearing the cheers and claps was amazing, TFS. If I couldn't go out and walk everyday I would be so sad. Making my videos is helping me stay sane.
I love your Mums response to being in the paper. Since I am no longer going into work I am able to listen to your radio station. In these difficult times your vlogs and now the radio station make me laugh. Keep up the good work please.
Yes we are a part of history and even though most of us will not be identified in a history book, we are playing a key role in these tragic times. Let’s stay home to help those brave healthcare workers with the fight at the front lines. We will all be remembered as a global community for how we dealt with this. Thanks Jo you are so upbeat and inspiring 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🐶🐶
Big thumbs up, Jo. Thank you for all that you do, including your vlogs. Your mum is so funny. She looked so comfortable in the garden. 😀😂 have a safe week xxx
Jo you are a complete tonic.I love your mum.keep going as much as you can you lift people's spirits.I have promised myself a trip to London when this is over.
London is so eerie when its empty and sunny at the same time. UA-cam has become the only way to connect with some sort of a crowd. Lovely video, as always
Lovely to see what is happening in London, Jo. We have been in lockdown for 2 weeks in Spain and in my little pueblo we give a clap every night at 8.00pm, its a lovely chance to wave at your neighbours and feel you are all in together as well as give a big thank you. Yes, we are really living through a moment aren't we, it feels so unreal at times. Your mum is so funny, says what she thinks, good for her! Take care Jo, stay safe xxx
Terrific video, Jo! I got pretty emotional too. Lovely of you to keep making videos for us during these times. I hope your mother is well and managing during this. She must have been delighted to see you waving to her!
What a great attitude. The most wonderful person I ever interviewed ( now a friend)..is Sunny Jacobs. She was exonerated after being locked in isolation on death row for many years. She practised yoga every day...and said she was determined to be released with a flexible mind and body. She is awe inspiring x
In the thick of it here in NY and staying home and ordering online for as much as I can and connecting with friends and family via video chats. My 104 yr old mother-in-law remains in lock down in her facility but they did a video chat, however she has dementia and macular degeneration, so she can't see us nor does she recognize us anymore. However she looks well and we hope she does not get the virus because that would be disastrous. As a retired ICU nurse I speak to my colleagues and things are dire in the ICUs and on the floors, so it is wonderful that people support them. Your mom is simply wonderful, hysterical, practical and looking healthy. How you are able to be so flexible is amazing and now I feel like I better get my act together. Thanks for bringing joy to my day. Be well Jo and Matilda!!!!
Much love to you, Jo, from Seattle Washington, USA! I was tearing up with you on your roof top. We really are together as one right now. Thank you for bringing me into your world every week. I truly adore you. Sending you love. Stay safe, strong and healthy!
Thank you Jo for doing this, please keep them coming, such a ray of sunshine anyway but especially right now amidst the horror going on around the world. I have also fell back in love with yoga and disciplining myself to do half an hour every day!! You are totally inspiring and not to mention flexible!!! Much love to you, Mutti and Mathilda xxx
Thank you for the vlog! It was an uplifting vlog and just what I needed. Hearing all the clapping and support for the Carers was emotional! Your Mum and Matilda put a huge smile on my face and of course seeing London almost completely shut down made me tearful. Stay safe and keep us posted!
I found it very emotional when we clapped for our NHS and workers on Thursday in our little cul de sac 💙 it was a great way to show our recognition for their fantastic dedication to their vocation, as well as feeling a true sense of community, in these awful uncertain days we are facing 💔 I am so thankful for all our blessings we have that help get us through this anxious time, whether it be the lovely weather that we had this week, or people like you Jo providing us with fun distractions, but alongside that, and most importantly I feel so blessed that my family and friends remain well and safe 💗💗💗🌸🌼🌺💐🌹🌷. Stay safe, have a good week xxx
Really look forward to this vlog every week now - you’ve definitely proved your point that there is an audience out there who love seeing what you are up to. Can’t listen to the News very much at the moment, thank goodness for you, Vanessa and Robert on Radio London, which is a constant source of information, entertainment and comfort. Thank you.
I recommend Yoga with Adriene on UA-cam. I do a routine everyday followed by some meditation. I'm not as flexible as you though. I'll keep practising! Thank you for your content Jo. I enjoy watching you every week. Your positivity is infectious. 🌻
It is very heartwarming to hear every one pulling together for your NHS. I cannot imagine what the environment is like inside any hospital at any given time during all of this.
Thanks for the views from London - oh how I miss it. No events booked, no trips, no shopping, no travel. Staying at home isn’t so bad :) Loving seeing London from your rooftop. Take care and stay safe x
Jo, you and your mum made me laugh out loud! Your Mutti is something else!!! The clap for caregivers made me tear up as well and provided the reminder that we are all in this together! Have a good week! 🙏 Best wishes from Halifax, MA, USA!!!!
Hello Jo from America. I found you recently while strolling through You Tube, I can’t get enough you are so bubbly and lovely, a pure delight and an inspiration. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your colorful life Jo. For those of us at home it is nice to see the city scenes. Hooray for the nurses and healthcare workers! Thanks to the person who mentioned the zoos in the comments. We will get through this!
I'm watching this from Northern California and I burst into tears when the segment about the banging of pots started, indeed it is history, Thank you for sharing, I hope you got to see your mum from the garden.
Shedding tears again watching the clap for carers in our wonderful city. So emotional. I share your pain at standing in the garden seeing your fabulous Mum through a window. I am doing the same. It is beyond tough. And I am in awe of your flexibility! You go girl! I might even take up yoga at the grand old age of 58!! Sending you much love and big hugs Xxxx
That was amazing to hear - it made me emotional just hearing it via UA-cam. Love your mum so much - please send her our best. I’m a little melancholy tonight as I was due to be on a plane bound for London, my home, that I haven’t seen for 11 years. I was going to turn 50 there. C’est la vie. The most important thing right now is for everyone to stay safe. Please take care of yourself Jo. You are a treasure ❤️
MiddleAgedMinx I live in Denver Colorado now. London is my home though - born there and lived there for years. I am planning on coming out to London for my 51st now! I can’t wait ❤️ Right now I just want everyone to be safe, so I’m doing my bit by staying at home and homeschooling my 11yr old.

It is beyond tough. And I am in awe of your flexibility! You go girl! I might even take up yoga at the grand old age of 58!! Sending you much love and big hugs Xxxx
hope your mum is ok x
MiddleAgedMinx thank you Jo Xxx
OMG love your mum so much. She is so grounded. Great video once again. Thanks for sharing.
I love how calming your vlog is to watch!
I cried when we did the clap for the NHS too, it was so moving. I love your vlogs Jo. They’re nice and uplifting for a strange time. xx
Roxy where do you live? Make sure you celebrate wherever x

Dear Jo, love seeing how you are fairing in London and that you are keeping your darling mum safe. I work for the NHS on the Isle of Wight and it’s a very scary time trying our best to care for patients -,many are elderly and vulnerable. I love your positive energy 🙏❤️

The bonus of working from home every day at the mo is that I listen to Radio London all day. Robert Elms in the morning & you in the afternoon 🙂
