- Modern, fan-made trailer for Roman Polanski's 1968 masterpiece, "Rosemary's Baby" - based on the best-selling novel by Ira Levin.
A young couple moves in to an apartment only to be surrounded by peculiar neighbors and occurrences. When the wife becomes mysteriously pregnant, paranoia over the safety of her unborn child begins to control her life. - Розваги
This film is actually far more depressing than scary. Rosemary is such a nice person who just wants to be a mother and instead every person around her, people she's supposed to be able to trust, strategically dehumanize and betray her and all you can do is stare helplessly.
The true horror is the subjugation of women
@@musa-vl6ol agreed
@@musa-vl6ol Perhaps, but I think it's deeper than that. I think it's actually the reflection of how immoral our society has become, and how evil continually triumphs while goodness is routinely crushed and punished. All these billionaires and politicians who control the world are so egregiously amoral and wicked yet nothing ever stops them. They continue to prosper while good, honest folks continue to suffer. 55 years hasn't changed anything. Look at what the world is today. Millions of people live in fear and are in financial ruin while Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos are making billions off this pandemic. Not to mention the billions the mass media is earning as well. It's truly a scary, awful, helpless world that has only gotten significantly worse since this movie premiered. The question posed by Time in 1966, "Is God Dead?" is just as relevant today.
@@musa-vl6ol I feel like if it was truly about the subjugation of women female characters wouldn't have such integral parts within this cult. I think it's more the subjugation of innocence and goodness. Obviously, they needed a young woman to spawn Satan's child but it's not just her who suffers in this film but every person with an ounce of morality.
@@musa-vl6ol I find it particularly interesting that this coven almost universally consists of middle-aged/elderly people because in the late 60's it was youth who was blamed for the destruction of wholesomeness in America and warping it through their excessive drug use and radically liberal views on sexuality. The fact that Minnie and Roman could be anyone's grandparents makes the film extra chilling, humorous and fascinating. We expect them to resemble the lost souls of confused hippies like the Manson Girls but these are people of the Greatest Generation who were raised in an era where Christian ideals dominated American society. It makes you wonder how they became employees of Satan.
I think it's a bit of a masterpiece really. You forget it was made in 1968. The absence of special effects make it so rich and deep, convincing and surreal. Also the quality of the acting and casting is out of this world. In a way I think the better special effects get...the worse they get.
So true x
Since they didn't have so many special effects as we do these days, they had to work hard on the screenplay and that's how such wonderful classics came to life.. it's hard to find a brilliant film these days, it's like 1 in a million
fast and furious part 27 is the ticket
You're right! Music, cinema, literature. It's as if everyone suddenly became dumb once January 1, 2000 occurred. It boggles my mind that The Rolling Stones could write a song like Sympathy for the Devil while abusing drugs and alcohol yet clean singers today can barely write beyond a 5th grade level.
Actually, the brilliance you're seeing is all in the book. Polanski had never adapted a book to film before and he didn't know if he was even _allowed_ to change anything, so he literally took Ira Levin's book and put it up on the screen. That's why there were no special effects.

@@mikeymoo1291 I do too. Too many producers think they can use "state of the art" to carry an otherwise bad film. I honestly think _Rosemary_ is Polanski's best work. The acting is superb, even the bit players are good -- the sure sign of a great film. 1968, I remember when it came out, although I didn't see it until many years later, only read the book (I was 11 and thought it was great suspense). I was more responding to VPL who seemed to be saying they made the screenplay carry the film in the absence of special effects, I meant by putting the book up on the screen virtually unchanged, they didn't have to really "work" on the screenplay since the book had almost zero things that even could be special effects. The atmosphere is all created in the acting, lighting and especially the direction. The smoke coming from the living room while Rosemary and Minnie are doing the dishes; Minnie getting on the phone to Dr. S and she's _just_ halfway out of frame; the angle as Rosemary wakes up in Hill's office thinking she's safe and then Guy and Dr. S walk in -- genius.
"Rosemary's Baby" was a different kind a flick, A true Classic 🥰
much like a true story
My Son and I are creating a tv show similar to twilight zone, creep show. We talked about what were the scariest films ever created. Rosemary's Baby is thoughtfully written and frightening on it's complexity and it's simplicity. A CLASSIC!
Wow! Just watched Rosemary's Baby for the very first time! WOW! Instant classic! Quality! Intellectually stimulating. I'd def. re-watch it a couple more times. To be sure.
Instant classic? The film was released nearly 60 years ago. It's probably been a classic longer than you've been alive.
@@AbominableHuman It certainly has been. Great handle by the way. Nice one bro.
@@Bluzian74 Right on.
Shame on you for avoiding this movie till now .
@@shahidhamid962 hahaha
When I was a child the commercial trailer of this movie terrified me...it still does today. This one and The Shining...Classic!
The trailer put me off of watching it. Makes it look scarier than it is, well worth watching.
Each frame speaks volume . After the initial viewing you know the plot then it becomes even more watchable .
The legendary apartment trilogy: Repulsion, Rosemary's Baby, The Tenant.
Nightmare fuel indeed
Yes. A modern trailer that would spoil every plot point
"Rosemary's Baby"(1968) is a psychological horror movie masterpiece! This is one of the best and most classic horror movies of all time! The ending scene of the movie was very creepy!
without a doubt, one of the greatest horror movies and greatest movies ever made in GENERAL!
This is just like a modern trailer. Gives everything away, no need to watch the movie lol
It didn't give ANYTHING away, it did give an idea about what the movie is about though. This trailer really doesn't even scratch the surface about what's really in the movie, stop being a drama queen.....
It's just like modern movie trailers? Literally every trailer for old movies that I've seen lately are giving everything away lol. Old movies trailers do this way more often than new trailers.
I agree with Phonyk, it even has the end of the movie! everything.
@Bribri True
thats true. old fashioned trailers just created interest
A movie that actually followed the book. Classic.
This move is more real then people realize
I just watched this film for my film class paper and I LOVED it. Im a horror nerd and this hit all the right spots for me. Polanski is an icon!
An icon? Isn't he a child rapist who fled a country to avoid protection to this very dead? :s
Well... there's the rape-y stuff too.
the good stuff@@jaaxxone
This is such an awesome interpretation; well done!
Whoever edited this is nuts. This movie is full of disturbing, creepy imagery that they could've used that would've drawn the viewer in without giving away the plot.
You could say this about every trailer from the last 20 years or so
I watched this because I want to see the film soon… I still feel like it’s very mysterious and draws you in. I watched the original trailer and felt bored…
What would your trailer have looked like?
Great Trailer FOR THOSE WHO'VE ALREADY SEEN THE FILM.
Hereditary music does give it an interesting flavour. One of Ari's favourite films. Nice work but change the title of the video for the sake of those who haven't seen!
The video quality is outstanding in this one wow
Just showed this to my friend who hasn't seen it but unfortunately it spoiled the whole goddamn movie :) cool great thanks
Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Woody Meggs i searched for it because the movie got brought up in the middle of a conversation? and clicked it because most trailers dont give away the end of the movie??

Fantastic job!
The perfect parody of modern trailers ruining the whole movie! Elegantly done!
Fantastic trailer!
It's based upon a real secret society called the Velvet Society. They are the original Benjamin Franklin Hellfire club. They have always been around.
Ooooo I was looking for a comment like this. All the video clips from official accounts have comments turned off though. Lol I watched it for the first time this weekend and all I could think was how this movie is actually a reality.
This movie is based on Ron Hubbard and Alister Crowley's ritual in which they tried to summon pure evil to be born as a baby. I read about that in a book about scientology couple of days ago. They had good intentions supposedly, to control evil
@@TheBojler666 Alister Crowley and Benjamin Franklin were both Mason's and Scientology is it's own thing completely different. And Scientology wasn't popular at that time. Plus Scientology has nothing to do with black masses. It appears that you use an extremely higher intelligence to mask the truth in such a way that only those who already know will actually know what you are talking about. But if it's too direct then it must be doubtful and changed through distraction.
@@TheBojler666 However I do apologize I only found out when I accidentally came across things while investigating who my father was. I am just too good at what I do. So now that I found out I don't have to say anything anymore. However I will get in contact with my father someday 🙏 LOL! He's probably hiding out in a tunnel with a robe on somewhere?
@@TheBojler666the movie was adapted by Polanski to cope with the murder of his wife Sharon Tate by the Manson Family.
This movie film is filmed with great scene, but to me the most memorable is the phone booth scene when she talks to her doctor for almost 5 minutes...
I loved this trailer!!
Yep, just like a modern trailer to pretty much give the whole movie away. Good job! 😛
Just watched an interview with Anthony Hopkins 'The Rite' as i'm travelling around Italy. He said Rosemary's Baby was his fave scary movie.. so thought i'd check it out. Looks good.
First time I ever watched this was at my sister Shannon and Scott’s trailer 1994
love this cast ! ❤️
First movie my mother ever took me to go see in the theater actually the only movie my mother has ever taken me to see in a movie theater was look who’s talking the first one
I was high
Nice editing work.
This is a great trailer with one problem: it gives away the fact that it really is a coven of witches. The very first time I watched this movie, I wasn’t sure if Rosemary was imagining it or if it was real. Once you’ve seen the movie once, it’s very obvious. But it’s not that obvious the first time. And trailers are meant for audiences who’ve never seen the movie.
The original 1968 trailer is better.
hereditary trailor score! LOVE IT
Masterpiece.
This is inspiring for ari aster
The greatest actresses ever. Mia Farrow carries this movie the entire 2 and a half hours.
I'll have to see this
Where did you find such good quality clips?
This is a great trailer, a little spoiler.
Mia farrows first 🎥 21 years old Rosemary Baby my opinion should of at least been nominated for best actress. Ruth Gordon won best supporting actress Oscar for this 🎥🏆 1969. CLASSIC HORROR
Poor Rosemary she suffered a lot in this movie... sad
Cuando ya tengo tiempo viendo trailers de películas actuales de terror, suspenso u horror, termino buscando estos trailers de films viejos para limpiar un poco la cabeza de tanta basura que se está haciendo actualmente
I'm buying this on Amazon. This movie is the 💣.
What have you done to it's eyes!!!

One of the most well made films ever. And I dont like horror films
Im just here because of Kate Middleton identical red dress worn when presenting the birth of her second son to the world. April 2018
More like a synopsis of the film - way too much for a trailer!
Go Bake or Go Home exactly like a modern day trailer: terrible
I never watch the trailer of a movie I am about to see .
If you haven't seen it yet it's not the trailer's fault, everyone knows the plot of Rosemay's Baby
The trailer is cut exactly in the way a true hack would have approached the material as the director. Oh its a a monster movie really. No, it's fing a psychological piece. Rosemary's paranoid, suffering from a hormonally-induced breakdown. This is how people go mad. Except in the end of course the most horrible of things have actually been going on all along. But you cant play it that way, that's the brilliance of the filmmaker's choices and why it survives as a classic.
Unless the trailer is a parody of how a horribly misguided studio would market a brilliant film by undermining it, than go away and watch more film before bothering to present them or anything else to the public on youtube or otherwise.
Bruh, really 1968 was great
Raven from the Teen Titans and Hellboy took inspiration from this movie.
Un film a voir !
This just shows how far people will go and are doing for power, money and fame. Not worth it!
Too much ambition in the world
Where to watch plzz tell
Inspired!
Alguien puede pasarme los subtítulos de la película por favor!!
I don’t understand what’s supposed to be scary? Everyone says it good but I’m falling asleep on the trailer 😂
I mean I get where you're coming from, but it's a tremendously suspenseful film imo!:) There's only a few truly scary parts, but it does a great job of building tension throughout the film. As a viewer we can imagine ourselves in Rosemary's position; she's extremely vulnerable, trying to protect her unborn child, meanwhile she is at the center of a conspiracy, and everyone in her life is plotting against her. She has nobody to turn to, and even people she tries to confide in betray her trust. But like if you're more into movies with lots of gore, ghouls, goblins, etc I can totally understand why you'd find it a little boring and slow compared to horror of the last 20-25years, I do get it lol.
@@andysplants The amount of times this movie is referenced I’m sure it has to be good
How dare you fall asleep from this boring masterpiece made by a p#do
