    If I had a penny every time I have to explain the entire content of this video to a patient I would be rich. This video covers every single part of the conversation every single cardiologist I know wishes they had with their patients with afib. I cannot understate these facts.

      afib is not a heart problem the heart is merely a symptom of something else you ignorant buffoons have no clue about. It not caused by a lack of drugs. I cured mine despite the ignorance of the killer quacks called MDs.

      Presumably you get paid a lot more than a penny each time you have to talk to a patient about anything...

      Same here! Two months ago. No information. Just a whole load of medications, all of which have given me side effects (swollen ankles/bleeding inside the eye/nausea/headaches/swollen bleeding gums etc.) and I've been told it could be 18 months or more before I can get an appointment for a review. Only way forward seems to be watching videos like this, taking my blood pressure etc twice daily, researching medications, and adjusting dosages accordingly.

    Finally an educational video that really teaching the causes of Afib, instead of listing causes of Afib as caffeine, alcohol etc. Great video, thanks.

    It is mandatory to address the cause of atrial fibrillation prior to rate/rhythm control. Like Treat Anxiety, Pain, Anemia, Electrolytes like K/Mg, Respiratory problem, Infection etc.

    I am glad to have found this video and learned about the CHADS VASC score, covered at 2:58 on this video. I had never heard of this tool before. I found an online calculator to plug my data into this tool and learned that I have a very low risk of stroke, particularly because I am a man well under the age of 65 and have no other disease indicators. Yet my cardiologists have been urging me for years to take blood thinners, which I have never been willing to do.

    I've learned more from you than our doctors. My mum was 77 when the doctor diagnosed her and prescribed Eliquis, apixaban. I worry that she will have a stroke, even more when she uses the oxygen meter on her finger because her heartbeat sounds all over the place. Thanks for your film and give yourselves a massive pat on the back ♡

      Thanks for your super kind review! Hope mom stays well! Our goal in writing this was to, in a way, "extend" the physician office visit. Teach people what maybe their doctor did not have the time to do.

      Unfortunately my dad got diagnosed at just 56. Stroke prevention is the main goal, but I’m trying to stay positive and to reduce as much stress for him as possible :) he was given blood thinners to reduce the risk of blood clotting and another medication. It’s too early as we just found out but hopefully the medication works with helping his abnormal heart rhythm 🙏

    As a sufferer of parox Afib there was a little bit of new info, just had a bout that hospitalised me, Flecanide does seem to work at reversing the AF, but the ectopic beat that leads to AF, not pleasant, but petrified of the ablation technique. Had these episodes 15 years or so

    Very well explained. It will benefit millions of people all over. Thanks. I am 78 years of age. Blood pressure and diebeties are well controlled. My Cholesterol is fine. I am not obese. Luckily I have not experienced irregular Heart Beat. I lead a healthy life style - physically active, engaged in lighter exercises and consuming lower salt and sugar. My diet is meditarian diet. My Cardiologist Doctor whom I have been visiting regularly and always commended my health conditions however, a month before he detected Atrial Fibrillation and recommended me blood thinner medicine . However, he will review after 1 month. I do not drink nor I am smoker. May I know what am I to do so that I can overcome Atrial Fibrillation. Thanks for your response.

      Thanks for watching. The co-author of this video series is from Montefiore medical center in NY and they are a local authority on ablations and researching new techniques. The best in the country, I cannot be too sure. I would probably check With your cardiology doctor to find the best center around you.

    My husband can’t lay down flat so as I understand he’s not a candidate for ablation
    Are there natural ways to deal with P AFib?

    • @Doctablet
      @Doctablet  2 роки тому

      Hi thanks for watching! Sorry to hear about your husband's struggle with PAfib. Blood pressure control and lower sodium intake, in addition to weight loss (if obese) are natural approaches. Speak to your cardiologist about whether an ablation is possible in your particular case.

    I am inferring from this video that the Watchman FLX is a better option than life long eliquis for a ChadsVasc patient of 1 about to be a 2 by age. Is this correct ?

    • @Doctablet
      @Doctablet  3 роки тому

      Watchman are indicated for those people who have trouble taking Medication or those for who taking anticoagulation represents a risk. The video makes no reference as to whether Watchman is better than anticoagulation with Eliquis.

      For what it's worth, I know someone that had the watchman installed, at some point had a Catheter Ablation done too, but still has Angioplasty procedures (Legs mostly) now and then, AND had a triple bypass. She is over 75 years old now, and still recovering and rehabilitating.

    BUT WHY---IS IT SO COMMON ? MY CAUSE FOR AFIB, WAS MY VEGAL 0R VEGUS NERVE. BET HE DOESN'T MENTION IT I WAS ASKING EVERY HEART SPECIALIST I CAME INTO CONTACT WITH, INCLUDING PROFESSORS---NOPE, THOUGHT I WAS A NUTCASE. I HAD 2 ABLATIONS---THEN MY 'AV NODE' REMOVED, AND PACEMAKER FITTED. 4YRS LATER---FINE.

      Your case sounds more complicated than our video will allow. To cover every possible physiology or treatment will requiere an 8 part documentary. If you are interested in funding that project let us know.
