CX30 is definitely on the harsh side of ride…😢 therefore not for me, sadly…
Of the 2 I prefer the real-world ability of the Subaru but why hate on the plastic cladding on the Mazda? The point of a crossover it to take rougher roads, where stone-chips are very likely, where mud full of sharp stones will get everywhere and scratch when you wash it off. The cladding is there for a reason. If you will never, ever use the crossover ability then just get the Mazda 3.

I nearly got one, tested the XV before it was hybrid with the S/I selector. It was so comfortable, the ride quality, it pulled away nice and smooth and got up to speed with no effort. I only didnt get it because it was bright red, I really dont like red cars and as luck would have it they had an Outback for sale so I got that instead. I lost my job down the line so had to downsize. I miss that car, it was fabulous. Id like to get another Subaru at some point next year and would probably go for the XV as I dont really need a huge car.
Before I even watch the video I will say the XV, simply because it sounds better with the boxer engine.

I have a SUBIE XV - but I have seen much better Fourwheel traction results of the Mazda CX-30. Maybe you don´t have activated the offroad button. That makes a big difference!!!

how do you compare sv hibrid vs xv 2.0 without hibrid?
The Mazda stability control looked really jerky. On a wet road that would be an absolute disaster. I've been trying to decide if to get another XV or change to the Mazda but seeing those jerky movements? No, no good. It's the opposite if why I want the stability of AWD, so I can see it's good on dry smooth tarmac but here in Malaysia it's often wet. Now I'm leaning even more towards just getting another XV (mine was smashed by a drunk driver)
Often wet on Malaysian roads? Hmm... I mean there are a lot of potholes that's for sure, but it's usually dry when it's not raining. And it's unfortunate that you had to deal with having your vehicle damaged due to another irresponsible driver. But yeah for stability, the XV wins for sure because of its symmetrical AWD and boxer engine. I have both a 2017 Subaru Forester and a Mazda CX5 at home and let me tell you something XD in high speed cornering the forester is super stable and excellent 👍

yeah if you want a oil leaky engine and cheap interior materials go with the subaru. i'll go with the beautiful reliable mazda all day.
