i honestly love john’s character for the fact that the whole time he was the “villain” of the story he was just trying to be the hero of the world, trying to make it so everyone is equal and not at each other’s throats
@@connorpoulin5685 i agree there shouldn’t have been as much blood as there was but at one point he just felt like he was alone and everyone was against him so he lashed out
I think you explained it perfectly. He kept fighting himself till he lost. I don't know where I heard this but I heard someone once say "Bring sick is having a problem. Being a monster is making that problem someone else's problem." I wouldn't say John is exactly sick, but he kept trying to keep his problem (His strength and problem controlling it. Maybe anger issues?) To himself, so when he didn't (when he started to beat people to a pulp) he started viewing himself and being viewed as a monster. Uru-chan truly did a great job considering all the time we get to spend thinking about John.
John really is a fascinating character. I think my appreciation of him has only grown as time goes on. He is far from perfect and has a lot of issues, but those are the things that make him what he is. I have always rooted for him, even at his worst, as it nice to see a character earn his redemption after making many mistakes.
John is the most memorable character for how it appeals to me that he changes and those changes happened because of his experiences. Other characters I can remember is Haru and Hana from "Days of Hana" , Arthur from "Beginning after the end". Only for Korean comic
Thank you!:) I like John because the Author was able to show how he changes and for what reason. Of course the Royals change when they taste defeat... and the saddeness thing is John wasn't able to change. And another thing is this metal problem/ break down/ trauma that John has. Yes is not an excuse and how John act and react wasn't good. My point is... it wasn't something a teenager can solve. The chairman fail. Well to be short John wasn't bad or enjoy it, and the author makes us able to understand it. And now he need to face the consequence of his actions but I know if he insist and don't give up even the others see he changes. Thanks a lot for the video♡
I think I could listen to hours of you talking about unordinary which is really ironic since I'm not a fan of that type of style of entertainment Never liked other anime or the books Unordinary is just that one off anybody can enjoy no matter their preferences
I love John with my whole heart. Its just beautyful that hes trying be better. Hes trying be a good person, but hes also broken because of authority. I love his relationshio with Adrion - they Are childhoods friends and this is also beautyful. And also John is top student In Wellston, but not because he has a talent or anything, but because he works so hard - the same about his power.
Hi Saori, it is really heartwarming & uplifting to see John’s determination to change for the better. I’ve found that media likes to focus on the bad parts of humanity so I find redemption arcs somewhat cathartic & human kindness a welcome sight. However, I disagree that those with authority broke him. His society cares only about ability-strength and creates a hierarchy with economic & social elements to it. Even before Wellston, John was abused for having a weak/nonexistent ability, & that perception of being inferior was what messed him up. Back when he was “weak” other students would bully him because he was a cripple; because they wanted to feel powerful & superior. What’s interesting is that they too were pushed around & looked down upon by those more powerful than them. John despises society’s people for its hierarchy where the strong are admired while also supporting a corrupt & oppressive system. (In the comic he says he thinks of everyone to be trash basically.)
I love this For many people complain about how Unordinary is And the reason they complain is exactly the reason I love Unordinary Like.. Uru Chan did a great job and I love her :D
Love the webtoon, but a issue with it is that everyone is telling John he's horrible but none of them changed until they were made to except John. And they never really apologized for what they did to him, but he had to go on an apology tour.
@@blueboi5808I get why Arlo’s apology seemed fake to John though, he really only apologized to save remi from joker, it was only until after the joker arc had ended that we got a real apology from him. And he definitely wouldn’t have apologized if John hadn’t become joker. In a way the line “people won’t accept change unless you beat it into them.” Is kinda true in Arlo’s case. I don’t think he would have changed for the better if not for John’s violent way of showing him the flaws with the system. This is true for many of the characters with a few expectations like Remi who was already a good person who just wasn’t aware of how deep the problems went until John made her realize and she immediately took action when she saw the problems.
I'm going to be honest. It was actually rather easy to root for John when he was Joker. Sure what he did with Cecile was... less than ethical (but she was less than ethical too), but I was perfectly content to let him beat the fuck out of the high tiers. It made them better people. I do wish he beat Arlo up a few more times though. His development was great, but he was relatively unharmed despite it being his mistakes that screwed everyone over. Now King John... that guy was a problem.
Can’t wait to watch the video. Before I do, I would like to say that I am super excited to watch it. As one of the first webtoons I’ve ever read, and now since I am busier, is the only one I consistently keep up on, unOrdinary has been my favorite for a long, long time, but I honestly can’t explain why I keep coming back to it. I do hope this video will offer me some explanation to that. Edit: Oh, I could listen to hours of you just talking about unO. Thanks for the video.
I think Unordinary could be a tv anime show. I would watch that. I think John is a good person but his power comes with great responsibility and it seems John has a temper which hinders his growth and with PTSD of his past. He goes to his safe area which is his power and anger and defeat everyone. As the seasons went on. John slowly finally able to control his power and start to accept them. Sera was his safety and she changed him later and roots to his current state with the most recent episodes. I won't spoil anything but I think John is connected with authorities with his mother. His dad had a photo that was Jane who had white hair. That I think may be his mother and it explains how he got his power as his mother may be a high teir maybe a 10. Also John is key to helping sera defeat spectre. If you think about John. Seraphina is having worries of John being taken but John can't be taken due to his strength and ability since he can detect others even when invisibile. His power is possible the one ability that can bring down authorities and spectre. Also John learned smarts from his dad by playing the card game. He can read people easily and plan out stuff by observing others. You saw this with Remi and her plan to demask him and even in room, playing with a couple students. He isntantly reads people and can tell when they are confident or nervous and take advantage of body language and he knows self defense which boosts his power and he is smart enough to find weakness and strengths of people. He also very observant and able to spot things. John probably the one character that is overpowered in all heros but faulters from his past and temper to evil for multiple occasions but Seraphina may be the way of balance to help keep his past and present seperate and forgive himself. She is his seperating of time of past and present and she wants to help him deal with his past. She is the one reason John is back to being semi normal and coping of his past.
OMG I just realized, John Doe is the name of the joker in Batman tell tale series game, and later in the story John becomes the joker of the school, So perhaps Uru chan got inspired by the game
Ummm nope . John is NOT cunning enough to pull any Eren or Lelouch shit . He is more of a Naruto gone dark due to horrible circumstances and psychological torture.
I wonder what kind of Medication the school nurse provide because holy crap can it heal every devastating damages to a lot of students' faces and bodies due to fights and bullying.
Sorry didn't watch the video because I can no longer listen to anything about Unordinary. The author ruined John In season two and it will never be a masterpiece because of it. John is not a idiot he may be broken but not to the point where he does the same thing again that the trauma was trying to prevent. There could only truly been two ways that I can think of at the moment where the story could've continued to be a masterpiece and that was John learning from his mistakes the first time and instead of going crazy he works with Cecile and reveals himself just around the point where Arlo tells Sera, John's past. He would by then have the power and rule the school and try to either break down the hierarchy and force a no fighting policy, basically having everyone go against the royals and have them be a collective and fight other schools. The author can have many plots where we can finally get some real worldbuilding and learn more of how cripples are treated and turned into slaves for the high tiers and God tiers. To lazy to and the other scenario 😴 but if you read it you should also have your own ideas of why this story died and John went crazy or if you thought that was fine, it would be when he lost to Sera just when she got her powers. Edit: I dropped the story around the part where he about to save his old friend from a group.
You have no ideas how trauma work it is not about your intelligence. Repression is always the return of the repressed. It is like telling people with ocd not to wash their hand or something. Or telling people with anxiety to be not anxious but the trying to repress the symptoms is the symptom of anxiety itself. Mental disorders always works in this twisted manner. For John, it is not like he really wants to change in the season it is purely to an reaction to re-experience his trauma. He is precisely trying to make it so that he cannot be forgiven, trauma always attach to you in this way. It reappear in some twisted form so that it is not forgotten. The best way to counter trauma is very ironically to treat it as meaningless and to have certain kind of closure. Your attempt to trying forget your trauma instead prolong its existence.
