The character of a person should be measured when times are tough, not when everything is OK. You remained flexible and adapted to changing challenges and you kept fighting to solve each problem. @@raywilson800 Dont be a dick he was looking out for his family . Those people are so precious to him they are priceless . If had had been alone I am sure he would of bought a floor jack and stands and ripped into it and got it going . Josh is a very talented man and I am sure he would of figured it out and got back on the road but when you have family it changes things. Family always comes first . My truck broke down in Ontario Oregon blew a seal on the timing cover thank God I had my travel trailer there I was broke down for three days in walmart parking lot I had to tear it down in the lot and put in a timing chain and everything went wrong had to get a taxi to go get parts . So I understand the stress when you break down and when you have family that you love it changes everything .

The RV died on us in Kansas. The issue? The water pump broke.
Who was "us"? We were/are two women, four boys (aged 7,5,3&1 at the time), a Yorkie and a Maltese.
Being Lifetime members, we called Good Sam and waited for a tow.
Meanwhile, we met the nicest people who came across the median to check on us, followed the tow truck to the repair place, and then took us to a local park where they kept us company while they fed us lunch.
      Memories...ayup.

While they may not take in the totality of the situation, you minimized their stress and you proved to a first class Dad. Many men could learn from you and how you handled this. You sucked it up, took the total responsibility for this, and you honored your wife in the process. I'm proud of you and I'm almost twice as old as you are. You are an incredible man. America needs more standup guys like you! What also should give you comfort is your children display a composure that means that they have not been taken over by the snowflakes that are ruining our youth. Your dog is so funny - wanted some attention.
And then you turn the "crisis" into a wonderful experience for your family.

I think if this would have been a carbed engine like the old Dodge you could have got it going. Oh well that RV is so delaminated and stuctuarally comprimised anyway im surprised it didnt fall apart or the sides start comming off! Ive actually seen RVs come apart while driving down the road! This rig is very poorly built! its just 2 pieces of 1/4 in luan with foam glued in the middle like a sandwitch! that roof had no 2x2 stuctural supports hardly at all If you had a bad wreck in that thing it would offer basically no protection to anybody sitting behind the front doors! Josh please don't beat yourself up like that you don't deserve to do that there's no way you could have seen this coming well maybe if you would have took it to get diagnosed maybe you could have shown you some problems I could have occurred in the future but who knows but you're a good man and you're doing a great job of raising your three children with your wife this is just one hiccup in the road you don't usually make mistakes like this but everyone does every now and then it's expected you just have to pick yourself up and start over again just pray to the Lord and he will guide you out of any situation you are like this may God bless you and keep you guys safe

    Awesome
    Dad
I’m in my 60’s and my dad was the same way
He tried to give us chance to see new places
And we had the same challenges along the way.
He could not or would not use credit cards to take us on trips.
He tried to do as much as possible while raising 7 kids on his
    Working man’s salary.
Besides the beautiful scenery and the togetherness as a family
You are teaching your kids to be patient and flexible and to overcome adversity
    Bless you man

I had a family member that’s passed in 2018 and her favorite saying was, is what it is. Forget about the breakdown and hold on to the fact that the rest of your trip turned out great. No one was hurt, you all were safe and most of all you were together. And don’t forget the kind people you met. God is always in control and He has a plan and reason for everything. Don’t let this experience keep you from going again. Also the stuff you left in the motor home, it was just that, stuff. Glad your home safe and hang in there remembering the fun you had.

You have no idea how much I enjoyed your video. I traveled a year and half in a 1986 Winnebago 22 ft Minnie Winnie. I’m 74 with some health problems and can’t travel now. Maybe that will change. I hope so. I’ve really been wanting to travel again in it, but would have to sell my condo and get my back problems fixed. I just might. Your video gave me the fix I needed. It was so awesome! I had a few stressful breakdowns and rode in tow truck down the mountains in a storm, I was proI didn’t die! I would do it all again! Thanks again for your wonderful video!!!

Josh, you did great, you teach your kids life lessons while giving them a fun childhood and keeping them safe. I think that's why Tosh didn't stress out so much, she knows she can depend on you, and she's your greatest support, in her words "we got this". I hope you do take another trip and take us a long again. I had a great time watching! BTW there is a old train you can ride out of Nashville, they offer different themed events one is a western train robbery. You can dress up for it and everything. It's just a few hours, goes from Nashville, to a little town just outside of. Don't beat yourself up over taking a loss of the money. You all pulled together and learned together both while fixing and traveling in the RV, and made priceless memories that will last a lifetime. If you ask me it was a bargain all around. Maybe next summer ya'll can do the Bellbuckle RC cola and moon pie festival, hit some of the great state parks we have, even visit the cave systems, and then the train all here in TN. I'd love to show ya'll around Nashville anytime. I can also introduce Wa Wa to a pretty well known girls basketball coach should she be interested. Thanks for sharing your lives with us, while we are still strangers to you, you all already feel like family. Tosh should do an animal channel, and stop "flipping flopping" out about her crocks .. crocks rock. I have a pair just like her leopard ones. HA

When we go on holiday we have an unspoken rule, whatever happens happens. The journey is part of the vacation, that includes breakdowns. You make of it what you can. Even if you can't always follow the vacation planning, there's always next time. And the worse the situation was, it makes for good campfire stories!

Josh, I started watching your videos for the laughs but this one really shows me that not only are you funny, you are also the model of how a Dad and husband should be. You put yourself last and make sure that ever else is taken care of over your own needs. This video showed the light of Jesus shining through you. What a great example you are showing your kids. Your family is blessed to have you and despite what you said when the motor home broke down, your wife couldn’t have married anyone better.

In 2022 we bought a new ford pickup and a new TT, I now have 14000 miles on the truck and we are planning to take a trip from Lancaster ny where we live to mount Rushmore and pretty much like you did and I am nervous about going that far and the truck is still under warranty.
