Who is the Best Swordmaster in Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn? - Trueblade Tournament
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- All characters have their default skills and average stats for a level 20 Trueblade. The rounds were best-of-three and a coin flip decided who got to attack first.
This felt more like:
1. Who ever triggered Astra the most
2. Whoever triggered Astra the 2nd most
3. Whoever triggered Astra the 3rd most
4. Whoever triggered Astra the 4th most
5. Lucia
tbh, that is how its going to be with anything like this in radiant dawn. seeing as EVERY mastery skill may as well say "opponent dies".
@@einjharrelracaAnd of course Lucia's at the bottom because it would take her an Astra and a Critical to actually knock out Stefan.
OP mastery skill, my butt.
@@ResurgentRaven Astra is on of the fairest Mastery in RD, only behind Astra. Astra sucked in FE9 because it cut down your attack power by half and only destroyed your weapon's durability - any single attack that would have killed the opponent now needs to land three times to do finish them off.
But Astra can still miss and can't crit in RD, just like Aether, doesn't multiply strength nor bypasses enemy defenses, and only has a 20% max activation rate so it is still fair.
It's not like Eclipse, for example, that deals a flat 120 damage to units in a game where the max HP stat is 80 for your units.
@@TwilightWolf032 Eclipse only deals 120 damage because Radiant Dawn doesn't have Path of Radiance's damage overflow. Considering there's no reason the Black Knight shouldn't be wielding Alondite, Eclipse does 280 damage. What was even the point of making an even more ridiculous version of the already ridiculously buffed Luna skill, not to mention making said skill exclusive to a unit like the Black Knight, if you can never witness its full majesty? Part 1 Chapter 9 should be full of near 300 damage slaughters, considering how often the skill procs.
@@devonm042690 Jesus Christ, it's worse than I thought!
Honestly, RD should just nerf the Mastery Skills, make them bypass half of enemies Def/Res, make the proc more often, make them cost 0 since they're forced and give mob enemies skills like the Endgame map of PoR to keep things more balanced and more challenging.
Bosses in Part 4 Endgame all have Nihil past the first map, and that makes all Mastery Skills useless, just occupying Capacity that other non-combat related skills could have used.
I much prefer the way the Tellius games hand skills over modern Fire Emblem (like personal skills and leveling up), but the balancing is all over the place!
>7 damage
Lucia had, like, no gains.
tldr: Lucia being Lucia
the struggles of no str growth dude, looks like he used average stats for everyone. 25% str growth hurts, even in radiant dawn lol.
@@einjharrelraca *specially in Radiant Dawm due to high growths overall
@@alejandro_rodriguez_99 i find you can kinda make up for a little bit of low strength, because this game has forges, but yeah. that strength hurts REALLY bad lol
@@einjharrelraca My Lucia always ends up with good Strength growths, but that's because I manipulate her growths with Bonus EX and save scumming.
If you just average everything, yeah, she's going to be that bad.
Best character designs in the series. All have such a clean but uniform look. Love it
Zihark is the best, and I say that as someone who never uses him.
I used to watch videos like this all the time, was happy to see this pop in my recommended today. Radiant Dawn is hands down my favorite video game.
Mia wins in my heart
she is the best. By faaaaaaaaaaaaar
Let’s be honest, when are you getting a 20/20/20 Edward?
She wins in every practical situation in game too
No one in their right mind would ever 20/20/20 Edward when you when you have Jill, Zhiark, Nolan, and Micaiah (because she's required) in the Dawn Brigade that can use the exp much more. Mia is the best Trueblue for prtatical use.
😂😂😂
Stefan being that slow surprises me. I guess he has to lose something for the big boy bases.
The second hit from Lucia and Edward is actually a new round of combat, but the editing makes it seem like Stefan is being doubled. If those rounds had lasted longer Stefan would have done the same to them.
@@SableFE Oh, gosh, your edits are so smooth that they’re throwing me off.
Of course it came down to Edward vs Mia.
You have no idea how excited I was when Edward completely destroyed Stefan twice in a row.
That would never actually happen though.
who ever triggers astra first the contest
unless you’re lucia
Who?
In my heart Stefan won
Seeing Edward as level 20 Trueblade is like Micaiah doubling something - cursed beyond measure.
Lucia getting bodied is unsuprising, it is hilarious how bad she is in both games. In PoR joins 9 chapters after Stefan with higher level, worse stats and worse skill. Earth affinity doesn't salvage her either. In RD by the time she becomes available she's country mile behind Mia and Zihark in terms of performance and the latter has Earth too so even that niche is gone.
I like to imagine she's so bad because she sports high heels in both games. Due to this, witnessing her doing that post combat backflip is more hilarious than PoR english voice acting.
Still better than the Japanese dub though.
Might be oveooking the joke but those heels aren't that high like 1 ir 2 inches isn't gonna really impede movement
Edward's fabulous jacket is the only saving grace... Mia best gril
idk... Resolve Micaiah kinda cracked
@@Xeconis the only correct micaiah build, there is still the chance she gets sent to the shadow realm by a unlucky hit, but if it isn't wonderful to see miccy double
Well done!
A solid few minutes of what Trueblades do best... fancy Crit animations.
I was rooting for Stefan, but that was a nice job by Edward.
Lucia is obviously the best since she's the prettiest and that's the only truth a Trueblade cares about
based as hell
Meh, I’ve always thought Mia was 100x prettier.
I feel like outside of Lucia, everyone had a chance, just depended on the rng, who procced astra/crit
Zihark lost only because he respect womenz
It's true
I was pleasantly surprised with Edward's outcome. He was always the number one myrmidon in my heart. Despite Zihark's superior everything, sword rank, bases and even affinity, Edward always got my long term use. That's even why I think Hard Mode is better than normal mode for him despite the very early games being harder due to the abundance of axes. Having no downsides against lances is a huge perk, and I would never replace him.
You know what I would love to see? All final bosses in all FE games going at it like this. My money would be on Rhea
We all know Dheginsea is winning…
@@dicehead22 he is pretty strong, but does he have 4 health bars? No. Does he have 3 miracles? No
@@dicehead22 Dheginsea's not a final boss though.
Do they have all of their mechanics? If Ashera has her protective Aura, the Mantle skill, the spawning of three spirits each turn, and all of her AoEs, she probably gets pretty close to the top if not coming out on top. Do the bosses have their boss stats or their theoretical max stats? If they have their max stats then Ashera would win easily, even if she had to fight every other final boss instead of it being tournament style, _and_ even if she wasn't automatically restored to full health after each fight.
@devonm042690 all max stats, all skills, no reinforcements. Ashera can have her auras but would be locked to her usual attack pattern. 1) physical 2) AoE physical 3) magical 4) AoE magical 5) silence repeat. So she is not doing optimal damage and basically loses a turn every 5 turns. Rhea has 4 health bars and 3 miracles so that's why my money would be on her, but Ashera is a close one
Though he clearly wasnt the best. my heart still goes out to Zihark
edited for spelling error
My goodness. Edward not only is tied with the highest amount of health, but also had the most strength and critical? Insane how good he performs.
Yeah, but he takes the most time, effort, and restarts to get there.
@@Khrene True. He does start pretty low in terms of levels, being the only Myrmidon. However, he's one of the few Dawn Brigade members I'd argue is worth training.
@@soronexle2681 That's exactly what keeps him from being the best Trueblade in the game in practice; he's stuck in the worst army in the game.
@@soronexle2681 on normal mode* on hard mode u need luck on his 2-3 first level to got at least speed, defense, and HP.
@@h0m3st4r Actually that’s kind of an advantage for him, I trained only Micaiah, Sothe, Nolan and Edward from the dawn brigade the rest I didn’t care (sometimes I trained Leonardo for ranged damage) Edward and Nolan are worth training the rest not so much.
Lucia: 'For Elincia!"
Stefan: "Watch and learn!"
Zihark: "Prepare to die!"
Mia: "I have you now!"
Edward: "I'm going all out!"
I feel like Zihark would say something like:
"For The Laguz!"
Edward spitting the facts, as usual
(really interesting concept though, I hope you'll do more ! Generals, Sentinels, etc, why not including bosses too !)
ohh yess PLS !!
Thank for you this video. Radiant Dawn never gets enough love. Well the supports are terrible but the plot twists are bad but I do like how grand it was in scope and the worldbuilding with different nations and people was good. I really like the critical animations in it. I'm surprised Mia didn't win, I guess Edward is really good if you invest in him. Edit: I just realized your name was 3-13 archer 😂 who could forget that guy. Why on earth was he so powerful? 😅
Technically he was a 3-13 sniper
RD is awesome despite its shortcomings, those combat animations are so good.
@@geraq0 yeah even though the map models look a little blurry the combat animations are pretty dang good. they're a lot faster than fe9's lol.
(Aran and Soren's models look like they've already been selected and are waiting because of how gray they are and sometimes I forget to move them because of their color schemes lmao)
"coin flip decided who got to attack first."
Mia: "Truth is, the game was rigged from the start!"
This is such a cool video. Unfortunately, due to the class’s nature, the fights felt very dependent on triggering Astra and crits, but it was still really enjoyable to watch
Poor Lucia didn’t stand a chance
SIIIUUUU Edward my boy when are you coming to Heroes!? ;-; it’s been far too long
4s demote comes with: Brave blade +, Astra, Atk spd ideal 3 and spur spd
Hp: 57
Str: 40
Spd: 35
Def: 33
Res: 21
yay
People who say Mia is the best True blade in RD never leveled Edward and gave him the blessed Alondite.
Well, I’m glad the several hours I took grinding Edward will prove fruitful.
YEAH BABY! EDWARD IS KING!
GO HOME MIA.
Nah, just use your favorites, i always use Edward and Lucia and those two are so good.
Radiant dawn is STILL the best fire emblem ever.
Honestly I think Stefan is best. Joins late but joins fully promoted and ready to rock and roll even in hard mode the second he is recruited. The others all require investment especially eddy
there was never any doubt who was going to win
long live the king
long live godward
This confirms what we already know: Godward reigns supreme!
didn't even need wrath !
I played RD on a small TV and for whatever reason thought Edward was wearing a red robe and brown slippers
Edward was the goat in my playthrough
Hi I have returned how is my favorite channel coming?.... (Checks who won) Oh good. Keep up the legendary work!
1:44 semi off topic but I imagine this is what the A support would've been like if the unused supports were used
Lets be honest, why use any other trueblade then the one who has a badass red jacket... Also helps that he has the best growth rates.
Amazing thank you, my favorites have always been Ed and Mia they are so exciting to raise and they are almost invinvible in endgame
Idk why, I just love seeing a good ol’ fashioned bracket tournament
Congratulations to Edward and his signature HD Jacket. Mia and Edward are two of the better swordmasters in FE.
Hey, this looks hella fun to watch. I wanna see these duels more in FE. Especially at their maximum.
This really does just come down to who crits or activates Astra first, huh. Though Lucia's Str is garbage she would've need a lot more. I was rooting for Mia to win this but congratulations to Edward you got the crit first.
If I remember correctly, Edward has wrath which probably what secured Edward’s victory in that last fight
@@d.altounian244 If Wrath was active, it would have said so, the activation threshold in this game is 30% instead of 50% and it never activated in any of his combats because every round ended before then. The only personal skills that activated were Vantage and Adept from Mia and Zihark. Parity is something the player would have to activate before combat and would actually do next to nothing because Stefan doesn't have a personal skill so the only thing that would happen is neither of them would be able to activate Astra, forcing Lucia to crit one more time than Stefan before he crits or kills her.
I vote Mia as the best.
Availability is so critical in Radiant Dawn. And considering the guaranteed 3 stat gains with BEXP, Mia will have no trouble capping strength, skill, and speed.
Wow, I was hoping for Zihark to be the winner since he’s the one I always end up taking in my team. I’ll probably level up Edward next time I replay the game. Happy to see more FE in my home page
More than happy. Took em both to the Tower, my blessed Edward was a monster and Mia was amazing too.
Ah yes, best boi Edward.
What stats was this run at? Caps, averages at max level, or something else? (Also I love how it basically came down to who could proc astra first lmao.)
Averages at max level
Fun video, but the premise is flawed because of bexp capping. Even lucia can cap str because radiant dawn makes it easy.
On another note here’s some notes on every swordmaster from a more practical standpoint because I’m a nerd and I want to.
Eddie: awesome offensive growths, but made of paper mache while in training. Really wants an earth support partner. Hard mode is extra brutal on him as he wants to reach brutal benchmarks vs the limited exp curve or else he’s not worth it. Did I mention he’s made of paper mache?
Zihark: Great in part one, but completely overrated as a long term option. I get it, he’s cool and has some of best sidestorylines in the game, but his part 3 performance is awful. Being eddie but low investment doesn’t change that. Earth affinity is nice but it can be surprisingly tough to actually get those supports up to dodge the deadly accurate laguz.
Mia: Probably the most practical investment sink in the game. Her starting weapons she gets stuck with 2 chapters are awful, though. She wants sorens adept and ike support asap. Needs a little bexp, but not more than say, ike.
Lucia: great for one chapter than screws off. If you want to train her in part 4, it really isn’t that hard, but of course you have much better options. Thanks to bexp, she can have similar performances as the other swordies in tower.
Stefan: great if you have zero trueblades trained up, a little inferior if you don’t. Trueblades have a nice niche in tower, namely their high speed cap that competes with the laguz royals.
Yoooooooo Edward and Mia are my two favourite Tellius characters so seeing them in the finals was hype
I do like Mia more but goddamn I am still very happy with Edward winning
Zihark and Edward were always my favorite two units
Stefan losing to Edward, cursed rng. But it was a cool meme.
Seriously tho, I've used Edward several times and even if I feel every other trueblade not named Lucia is way better than him, he's never fallen behind at he is a strong candidate for the alondite blade, tho he still a beast with his personal weapon which name I can never spell or pronounce
Nice, Edward is on top just as he should be! He’s not only the best trueblade, but actually the best unit in the whole game, if you didn’t know.
I disagree and say Haar is the best unit in game as he is available for most of it, has command of most of the weapon triangle, flies and has enough res to not get decimated by thunder mages. also Edward is not the best trueblade in my opinion Mia is as I barely got Edward to swordmaster by part 3 and he was doing ok sure but Mia was excelling as one of my best units. also I invested a lot of the kills into Edward but spread them out more evenly for the Greil mercenaries. just so you know this was my first playthrough on normal. abusing savestates to make sure that no one died. also second playthrough I boss grinded the dawn brigade and Edward seemed kind of underpowered compared to the others
Meh, too much effort for what it is worth. Unless you feed him kills he wont reach his full potential, and even then the laguz royals get the job done fine enough.
It depends on how much time you Wana spend on each charecter, because Edwars takes allot of exp compared to other like zihark, Mia., or even Stefan
@@jackwinch6097 Edward being the best char in the game is certainly a stretch imo, but he's definitely the best Trueblade and severely underused by most I think. On anything but hard, he really doesn't need much coddling and his growths are pretty bonkers for his class. In the dawn brigade chapters you really need to lean on your better units and discard the rest (so Sothe [forced], Micaiah [forced], Nolan, Edward, Aran, and Jill).
If you funnel your XP into just these units, by the time Zihark even shows up, my Edward is usually around a level 13-17 Myrmidon and he already has better Str, Def, and HP (if you factor in promotion bonus) than Zihark with capped Skill and Speed to boot. If you feed him a little bonus XP he gets even crazier, and even if you don't and just promote him right away he can still reach parity with Zihark easily, but with better growths.
As for Mia, the Greil team already has so many powerhouse characters, whereas the dawn brigade is starving for some decent bodies just to survive the missions with, so the choice for me is clear. I find that in Chapter 3 I have to feed Mia some kills to get her going cause of her low strength, whereas Edward is basically required to use anyway on the DB maps in Chapter 3, and usually he's the second best unit on the field for me anyway (behind Nolan) on those maps anyway so it's not a problem to use him anyway.
As for hard mode...... well, we don't talk about Edward on hard mode sadly, not even his growths can save him from RD Hard Mode, the destroyer of good chars everywhere....
Edward is one of those characters that can turn either good or bad depending on how much luck you had using them, making him the most RNG reliant unit in Radiant Dawn. Mia and Zihark are more reliable and definitely better units than Edward, the guy of this video just happened to get an RNG blessed Edward.
Not to mention how Hard Mode severely nerfed his performance by removing the Weapon Triangle (especially when they early chapters are filled with Axe users).
"Fighting" Mia as the Dawn Brigade is scary (I run from her)
Why don’t you just sacrifice her? “Optimal play”
My boi Edward always claiming lives, he's one of my 3 favorite units from PoR/RD and I can't wait for him to drop in Feh (and of course Edward won)
Ahhh yes, the superior Trueblade and my 1st spot character during my playthrough
Mia is the best she requires the least investment and you get her early enough on that i always find she helps more than the others i do like edward a lot though. But he starts with you at the beginning of the game so while yeah he has a lot of availability and gets a good personal weapon Mia starts off as a strong swordmaster with good base stats. Edward starts off as a low level myrm, I often find myself using both though because funny control multiple different armies and trueblades are fun to use crit and dodge alot.
Nice to see a Dawn Brigade member actually winning
I would like to see a video comparing magicians and that in this my most beautiful Pelleas, pleeeeeeeeeeeease
Well except gameplay-wise it probably goes Mia - Zihark - Stefan - Edward - Lucia. Very good video though!
This a cool as hell concept for a video
Would be nice to see other FE classes going head to head like this.
Radiant Dawn in particular is good for this format because of how close the gap is at 3rd tier level 20, and the amount of characters in each class
i like that the swordmaster coats are so sexy people still debate it 15 years later
Real Answer: The one who activates Astra.
That was impressive. Will you be doing the Marksman tournament.. let's see how Leonardo does
There’s a reason we call her “Mia the Monster” in our household
GODward was the absolute UNIT that won most of my battles on my first playthrough, took him and a susprisingly good leonardo to the tower and it went really well, how is this man still not in heroes after 6 years? I wonder.
Neat concept! I feel like the RNG elements (especially who gets 1st hit) mattered a lot more than anything else. I wonder if you could simulate each fight 100x instead of just 3 times? Obviously just tell us the answer instead of showing all 100 fights :)
That would take hours even if no animations :(
I really didn’t think much of tier lists before
But I had no idea Edward was the best, I used him because he was my favorite DB character.
Edward isn't the best. He is only better than Lucia. The results of this tournament are in no way indicative of actual gameplay.
YEEEEAAAAH! Edward sweep! It was close, but I got what I was hoping for.
Yo that was hype! Good stuff
Too bad Edward starts off unpromoted at level 4 in one of the hardest Fire Emblem games. You should invest in at most 3-5 units from Part 1, and his basement floor start means that he is never worth the headache of training up when you have Sothe, Jill, Nolan, and Fiona who are all more worth it. Since Mia is an extremely viable prepromote from her start, there's truly no reason to not ever take her over not just other Myrmidons/Swordmasters/Trueblades, but ALL other Sword-locked units. Except Ike, obviously.
For my hard mode Ironman runs:
- Part 1: I always take no more than 3 units from Part 1: Sothe, Jill, and Nolan. Fiona is my backup in case Nolan dies early. All other units are simply not worth training up. Volug is good enough that he doesn't need much experience.
- Part 2: I typically take 5 units: Marcia, Nephenee (AKA mai waifu), Calill, and Haar (AKA the best unit in the game), and Leanne as my Heron unit. I will use Elincia and Lethe when necessary, but pretty much everyone else is garbage and not worth it.
- Part 3: I train 7 units here: Ike, Titania, Mia, Mist, Lyre (AKA the other best unit in the game), and *probably* Janaff. Oscar will be the last pick unless Nolan died and Fiona got trained up, in which case I'll either train Boyd or Gatrie as my new Tank.
- Part 4: At this point, it's just deciding which Laguz Royals I want to use and getting to the Endgame from there.
Fiona😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gameplay = Edward
Lore = Stefan
Gameplay = Mia (2nd place Zihark)
Lore = Stefan
Edward is not good in actual gameplay without extreme favoritism. Truthfully he only beats Lucia, and that's just because of availability. If Lucia was around more often then Edward would be dead last.
AAAAAH YEEEEEAH MY BOI EDDIE!
I like Ed and Mia a lot but my Zihark is a 1 hitter quitter and he dodges almost every attack there is 💪💪
the real answer is this.
If you want to put a lot of effort into a swordmaster - Edward. - Ewdard will end up stronger than stefan in the long run, but it takes a long time and a lot of killing to get him there.
If you want one who is strong right of the bat and can hold their own with no training - Stefan. - Stefan is good right of the bat and wont grow much but wont be that far behind Edward.
Hey how about a video about best Gold Knight/ Silver Knight? I'm curious how Fiona turns out. She is pretty good when trained! Same goes for Meg.
This feels like Edward Propaganda and I'm here for it.
This is pretty cool. How did you manage to set up fights between the Greil Mercenaries and Dawn Brigade in this map?
Let’s go Edward! Happy the dude was able to win.
It kinda makes me want to try a run with only focusing on Part 1 characters like Edward.
Godward. Never actually taken him to the tower tho. Always Mia. Just don't know if his availability is good enough for that level of investment
Hey nice video, could you make videos for the other classes in the game to i would love to see them :).
My personal favorite is Edward, it's not often you see an early game myrm with an actually good strength growth. I would like Stefan better. but in this game he joins so late that by then you should already have your team for the tower decided, and it's not like his bases are really that impressive in RD anyway.
Stefan can go to the Tower without any prior investment at all. Only way Edward is making that team is if he gets extreme favoritism. It's clear who is actually better despite how their fight played out in this tournament.
Good job Eddy boy holy shit! You should do more videos like this. I love watching the silly combat animations in Fire Emblem and this is the perfect excuse haha
of course it would be edward he was the only one that can level up from a myrmidon to a trueblade people really have biases in the tellius series but ive always had better units with the first tier units
Dude I've played this game 4 times and Edward has been absolute ass every time.
Asking who the best trueblade is is like asking who's the turd with the most sprinkles lmao
Sad to hear. Edward can actually be a great Trueblade, despite being in the Dawn Brigade. Has good strength for a Myrmidon which is unconventional for the class and had the Highest HP growth percent in the game.
Aren't swordmasters actually good in this game? I know RD has STR-based ranged swords that aren't hard to get/extremely limited, which is often the biggest failing of footlocked swordies (and i assume enough skill to only barely care for their low accuracy)
@@gypsysprite4824 Yeah. Not only are they fast, but the focus on skill fixes up the low accuracy of the Wind Edge, Storm Sword, and Tempest Blade. (Seriously, the Tempest Blade is literally a factory version of Ragnell and Alondite. It has the same might and it even has +5 crit to it.) They also get a +10 critical bonus as well. Trueblades have a +15 to critical along with Astra as well so... yeah, pretty good despite only using one weapon.
@@soronexle2681 I must be very unlucky. I've only had 1 good trueblade
@@SomeOrdinaryViewer Really? I'm assuming that it's either Mia or Stefan who was the good one because none of the physical classes are that bad in Radiant Dawn.

This is amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥 but how do u have characters fight each other in different stages?
I'd put Mia on top because she can have transfer bonuses, I'd like to see a somewhat re do of this but everyone with their average stats but also have their average transfer bonuses... Edward probably still beat Lucia.
This is Mia slander
You should've tested this with everyone equipped with Nihil... Would've made it more interesting and fair
If they all had Bronze Swords and Nihil, since Bronze weapons don't have crit chance in this game.
@@ResurgentRaven True, but they get a natural Crit+ skill in this game; them, archers, and soldiers
I got Edward so savagely badass that I actually gave him Alondite for the endgame. He solos Zihark, Mia and Lucia, easy.
Edward winning this is a joke. No way he would ever actually beat Stefan. Finale should have been Mia vs. Stefan. That would be an interesting matchup.
Mia >> Zihark >> Edward >> Lucia = Stefan
None of them are bad too
Some dude said that Lucia is bad because she joins later at a higher level with worse stats
