If only those weren't so trashy from a hardware perspective, the only fancy thing is the screen and typically low price of those china made one piece units.
You'd be way better off just getting a Connects2 CTKFD31 kit or some other kit to make it possible to mount a 2-din head unit and a proper head unit like a pioneer SPH-DA77DAB or something similar from a reputable brand, why not throw in a reverse camera too.
Although the screens are smaller, they're easily enough for navigation and some media playing if you really care to. Honestly, you have a phone for video playback or you can bring an ipad or laptop if that's something you like to do, that'd give a far better experience. A screen size this is just about the cool and sleek factor without any real practicality except gps routes ending up a bit bigger.
If one wants bigger screens, there are 1-din and 2-din head units where the screen isn't integrated but outside of the head unit for more display area than the 2-din slot allows, those tend to be somewhat more expensive however but can give far bigger and wider screens.
Get them from a proper brand. Even if we look away from the lackluster hardware specs (and often hidden specs), who knows what kind of spyware and crap is on the non-brand crap.
Not worth it.
If Pioneer and other brands came out with a proper version of this, that'd be another story, but so far there simply isn't a good market for them as the 1-din screen outside the console is preferred.
I agree. 💯 I didn't want to spend any money on this car but the radio quit working and this has a certain WOW factor.
I'm trying to install one into my '14 Focus. I didn't need to break off the tabs, but I did need to install the bottom cover panel first, then clip the vents in after.
This looks not so difficult, and its a big improvement for my 2012 Ford Focus
I am an iPhone user, so can you recommend me a unit like this but suitable for Apple Carplay ??
I don’t know why but the biggest issue I’ve had with these in the few I’ve installed has been clock issues. The clock doesn’t keep time and I’ve tried every setting. It will eventually correct itself but it’s irritating.
i had one install on my 15 ST3. the sounds quality is really bad but everthing else works good. might have to switch back to Oem for the sound quality

Does it work with the doors open without the ignition on?
I have not tried. I don't think it should operate in that configuration.
I have the focus 2016 it came with factory camera, for this kit I'll have to install the camera that comes with the kit then?
That's my best guess. The car I did this installation on didn't have a factory camera so, I didn't know if it's possible to use it with the factory camera. I wish I had a better answer for you.

Hi, i installed this stereo in my Ford Focus 2014. Everything is working fine except the tweeters. Can u plzz help me? How can i solve that issue?
Just double check wiring. Everything should be good. If that doesn't help, contact the seller.
How do you get the buttons under the radio to work? The only button of mine that works is the hazards and doesn’t light up at all either for the buttons
@@EmmettTeson on this vehicle, there were no issues with controls not working. I would just double check to make sure all harnesses are plug in good.
The bottom buttons are programmable in the settings .

Did you manage to get the ac controls off the screen?
How did you by pass the A/C issue, because if you disconnect the second main plug (Canbus) from the A/C buttons , it wont work anymore.
Any advise?
@@sergiocclopes this car has the AC controls below the radio. They worked after I plugged in the can bus module. Nothin additional was done to make them work.
@@DCAutoEnhancement there are 2 plugs below the radio unit, one connected to the vent system and the other connected to the A/C on/off button and air circulation out/in or circular in... once the that plug is unplugged, those buttons dont work/control anything anymore!!? the A/C on/off is now controlled via the radio.

it is an EU model, if that matters.
Hey there , does all this work accordingly with the steering buttins etc ? And does the language speak in english ? Ive seen some bad reviews about things not working properly ! All the best
Really the only strange thing that I noticed was it has heater controls along the bottom of the screen that aren't functional for this model. If I remember correctly the steering wheel controls did work. I will try to do a review video on this. I had a short amount of time for the installation but it is in my daughter's car. I asked her recently how it works and if she likes it and she said she loves it.

My volume controls on my steering wheel no longer work with this, do you know how to fix that?
Were they working with this radio or they haven't worked since installing this radio? I have installed two of these style radios and didn't really try to program the steering wheel controls.
The steering controls are in the protocol settings , try a few different focus settings until it works.
I installed this and my battery will die after a couple days of it being plugged in anyone have that issue
@@jacobbarhorst4000 this wasn't an issue on the car I installed it in. For good measure, it might be worth it to look at the connection on any power and ground wires if possible.

I have pretty spotty CarPlay where music sort of skips a bit every few seconds. Does anyone else have that?
My daughter uses this daily but I don't know what her music source is. I'll see what I can find out for you

@@emilsulejmanovski9444 on this installation kit, I didn't see where you could plug the factory camera in to the new unit but I just installed one on a 2015 Fiesta and I did see where you could plug the factory in to the new unit. You may have to install the one that came with it. The car I worked on didn't have factory camera

I just sold a 12 fukus and the oem deck is kaput. Promised new wonders owner's that I'll jam this 11th wonder of the world for a stereo for them......when I go to buy one it gets a bit confusing, some say apple car play AND android auto, some say just one or the other.
Also, how familiar are you with the difference between 1gb/32gb vs 2gb/32gb vs 2gb/64gb versions.
Also my dear friend, if you think that you can put the end to my fears by shining the light of glory on the fact that my 12 fukus has one plug going to the back of the receiver, and the antenna. But there is an empty spot on the receiver that has nothing going into it. Do you think if I buy this chines made lovely piece of equipment, all the features will work?

@@dkrawk8309 I don't really know about the GB but I think the higher the number the more storage memory it has and the faster the processing speed. I think if you bought this unit, it would suffice. It will work whereas the original unit does not. I put this in my step daughters car and she hasn't had any issues with it.
