- Simple steps in assisting you in creating a floor plan and applying the feng shui classical compass. Divide your space into the 9 sectors.
Floor Plan Compass Application
1 - Create a to-scale/proportionate drawing
2 - Make a few copies on 8.5x11" paper
3 - Square-off the space (home, business, room, office, etc.)
4 - Find the geographical center of the space
5 - Locate front door
6 - Obtain accurate compass reading using a magnetic compass or Lou Pan (you want the number of the degrees your home or business if FACING)
7 - Draw alignment line
8 - Apply compass - using Feng Shui Compass Guide (template); divide space into 9 sectors/directions and label

Hi Ms. Tina,
I have a question about where to place the compass over the floorplan (to mark the directions on the paper) if the front door is at the right or left side of the house. Usually, the front door is located in the middle of the facade of the house, but I'm dealing with a ranch house where the front door is at the right side of the house. Should I still place the compass as if the front door is in the middle of the facade? Thank you, Ms. Tina =)
Yes, pretend the door is in the center.
As long as got compass direction can I just place horse in south being a rat. Why do you need plan if you have compass direction.
Of course! The Horse can teach the Rat to get out in the world more.

maybe its better to explain in very simple way like the door how u will get the direction how you will aim your compass to find out which the door facing.

Thank You! I just got a new house and funny enough it was built facing 70o East where there are massive windows facing east as well as the door. Also, there is a river running North! Maybe those guys in 1965, when built the house knew Feng SHui! Amazing!

Tina Falk I am only moving in the fall. Master bedroom follows the same design of the house. Entrance door faces the same side and center point as well. I am doing a lot of research. I am a little confused about facing direction for apartment living - whether it is the front door or the opposite direction to the balcony where I look out most of the time? Any thoughts?
Depending on your apartment, I would choose whatever is more yang (active) ie, light, activity, sound, etc. 😊
Hello Tina. Thank you for such great video. You say then if there's a garage on the plan, and that garage throws the "centre of the house" to more like a side to the house... then which one should I use? Should I follow what "I feel" es the centre of my house, or should I follow what the compass say it's the centre (including the garage). We don't use the garage much, but on the second floor, on top of the garage is our family room where we watch TV every evening, so I don't feel like ignoring the garage on my plan (but if I add the garage on my plan, the center is... not the center). I'm so confused, and have been stuck for 2 weeks now, not being able to sleep thinking of what to do. Please help.
Susana, If you have a living space above your garage, include your garage. Perhaps identifying this new "centre" will assist you feeling more centered yourself!

Hello. Thank you very much for such an easy and nice explanation on compass reading. I have a question about apartment compass reading. Sometimes, the front door of an apartment faces a foyer or neighbour's front door. And can be dark with no sunlight or fresh air coming in from the front door. Should we still consider taking the compass reading facing from the front door or from the area/side where the fresh energy is coming in like a balcony door?
You're welcome Monika. I'm glad you are finding value in my teachings. It doesn't really matter where you take the compass reading from (that's why compass method is so accurate and powerful) as north will always align with north. However, I think you are right about activating your patio doors as they have the most active chi with all the light coming in. Have fun!

Hi TIna, thank you very much for all your videos. Very well explained and clear to follow. I just have two questions as follows:
1. The front facing degree of my home is 303 degrees. Using my protractor, how would I go about locating 303 degrees and how would I need to follow it throughout the rest of my floor plan?
2. Where did you get the compass template you're using here in this video? I have been trying to find something online or at a nearby Feng Shui store but haven't found anything. It would be much easier to use this tool than a smaller protractor and having to draw the individual lines. Thank you!

to get 124deg, is that using magnetic north? true north? as a starting point. Can google maps show me the position of the house?
Rey, Use a magnetic north compass. And yes, you can get pretty close by looking at Google Maps. However, if you are applying Flying Stars Feng Shui, then you'll want a reading that is as accurate as possible. Good luck!
Tina Falk - hi , do I always base the front door even if we did not used it? We used the back door as our entrance and close the front door. Thank I for your reply
@@amypeterson1975 typically the front door is used to work with Flying Stars Feng Shui. If you are wanting to map out your floor plan, it really doesn't matter where you find your direction, cause North will always be North. :-)

Thank you but no kua number was mentioned. Mines in the west do I take the degrees of the west only?
The kua number is a BTB school concept that does not apply to the compass school taught in this video.
