Thank you very much for the video, it helped me a lot when disassembling the TV because I had a white spot on the screen. One of the lenses on the backlight came off. The black strip is not to prevent bugs from entering the screen (video 8:40). When there is no strip, the light penetrates laterally through the transparent frame of the TV. I recommend everyone who removes the tape to do it very carefully so that they can stick it back later. 🙂
Great instructional video! I had multiple white dots on my screen so I knew some of the crystals had popped off of the lcd’s. I tried to glue the crystals back over the lcd’s but it didn’t work out well. So I ordered the lcd strips from eBay and, thanks to your video, I feel confident in finishing the repair.
I've got this TV 8 years old now one bright spot developed 6 months ago. she has been solid and took a good bashing from the kids time for a upgrade I think I hope it lasts as long as this one. Informative video 👍🏻
Great video. I have one of these tv witch I bought 2nd had during covid from cex. It has lasted me a while but around 5 of the back lights have gone now. It's still watchable but I was thinking of trying to replace the backlights myself and your video has really helped
Perfect timing I have this model and I think I am need to replace the back lights, there is a bright spot on the screen I assume is one of the leds failing , where is the best place to buy a set of back lights all the suppliers I used to deal with are gone. Thanks again Steve.
Thank you for your help, and very well explained in English (I am French) excellent, I managed to disassemble meticulously! Now I ordered (12 units) but it comes from China (it's worrying) and wait in 1 month !!! OK, I'll see what's next! 😉
Very helpful video! I got a free one of these as it had big light spots on the screen and when i got home with it i found out it was also really dark and bright in other places. Followed this vid and took it apart only to find many lenses missing off the backlight and many blown LED's. Got a pack of backlights for £40 off eBay and i'm about to switch them over to see if this fixes it. Will report back here with results!
Thanks very much for the excellent videos really helpful. Can I ask for some advice? My neighbour asked if I could look at his LG55LA965W switches on red led lit no sound complete black screen. 3.3, 5, 12, and 24volts all good on power board connectors. All leds off. How many rows of leds are there for 55” never done a TV this large watched your other video where you mentioned the screw clearance from screen bit nervy, Thanks again, go safe.
Hope you're still around! I broke two of the clips removing them, I assume it'll be fine to put back together with these missing? If not where can I source, ebay want £18 which seems mental for small bits of plastic.
I hve this exact same model. Sound has gone out of nothing but there is sound when I connect external speakers. Does this mean mainboard or speakers fault?
I have one with purple areas I assume backlight failure. I'll have a look at it soon. You have to repair it yourself because it's uneconomical otherwise. This model is 8 years old and was around £600 when brand new. Although it is a Samsung arguably superior TV models from cheaper brands of the same size exist today for £300 or so. Technology moving on fast does that. Makes it hard to justify paying out for someone to do repairs.
be very careful with the LCD screen I broke mine don't be afraid to touch it or grab it but very careful when removing the outer rectangle casing surrounding it
don't be afraid to call Samsung if you really want it fixed but its gonna cost more to get it repair than get a new one was quoted 400-500 bucks for a repair when it only cost me $330 to buy it
Hello, can you tell me the name of the room below the speakers? the piece i'm talking about is a pcb that is the width of the tv with several copper/gold colored strips that look like they switch to the led strips of the tv. This part is defective on my Samsung ue4tu7125xxc Smart TV. I would like to replace it but I can't find it on the internet because I don't know the name and through the google reference I can't find anything
Hi could you please point me in the right direction to buy some backlights for a Samsung ue48h6240ak please. I've been trying to find some all morning but not sure which ones would be the correct ones to buy
This is a TV channel. 90% of tv faults today are backlight related. In an average day in the workshop we repair 2 amps 3 radios a projector and 5 TVs But they are not recorded as we keep this for TVs.

I have a samsung UE55H6400 tv and a single, very light white dot has just appeared in the middle of the screen.... can you confirm that it's just the lens to be glued on pls? sorry for my english...
Thank you very much for this quick response! I'm thinking of trying the repair! Do you know if the lens can be reattached without removing the white cover pls?
Right so i've done something wrong. The issues are fixed but you can see kind of like dark then light vertical bits, subtly. You can also see the black light coming out the bezels... Diffuser put on the wrong way round perhaps? Edit - Took it apart again, nothing will fit the wrong way so that wasn't the issue. It's so frustrating not knowing what i causing it.
Can you give me information whether the length of the led strip is 1005 mm or 1010 mm. I found a Chinese set, but the tag says that it is for the UE48H6400 model (there is no addition "AK" in the tag) and the length is 1005 mm. On another market, I found a model UE48H6400AK with a length of 1010 mm. Which set should I buy? Thanks
The replacement LED's i got seem to be fractions of a mm out, causing them to not fully clip down which has resulted in the white reflective material not being perfectly flat. Does anyone know if this is a big issue?
Hi everyone, I have the model down from this TV (think it’s a ue40) and need to reattach 4 fallen reflectors. The layout is almost exactly the same as this one internally, but I’m stuck on how to remove the power button assembly on the left, and the small contraption on the right, these are stopping me flipping down the bottom panel. Do they just unclip? hope someone can help.

I'm about to do the job you did on a 50h6400ak any more tips? 😂😂

Try a company called barz from Leicester they are quality backlights and fast delivery too.

How much did you pay? I just paid £40 for a set which seems very prices for some LED's.
Excellent my television works very well for 22€! thank you for helping me very cordially! 🥰

The model you mention is edge lit not backlit. So it will have 2 strips along the bottom. If you type the model number into eBay. you will see

Just put my thinking head on ,it has got to be a lens has come off giving me the bright spot ,

Lovely sharp picture.
it's a Samsung not a Sharp :P

EBay is quickest or AliExpress is the cheapest.
thanks mate, regards. 😀

@@guillaume5325No. You need to take the whole tv apart.

The bezel light is because of the tape around the outside that you needed to peel up.
So far. i'm at 10 loose reflectors . Got the 50'' ue50h6200
I had one then one popped up later then another one a bit after that. So glad I found this video.
Hei bro I have tv but I don't getting the backlights online
I have had a Samsung UE48H6400 AK for 8 years.
Slightly darker areas appeared on the led panel.
What should I do to fix this defect?
The dark areas are the backlights turning blue. You need a new set.
Thanks
It will be fine. The strips fit all Samsungs ue48h. The Ak is Jude code for UK model.

Yes should just clip out and in.
Wel i tried gluing them... Now it looks even worse 😂
