These throw away? Or are the blades replaceable?
Excel and Xacto blades are pennies to replace.

Nothing about Ammo costs pennies 🏦. Their philosophy seems to be “why use a hundred products when you can use a thousand very similar products to do the same thing, at ten times the price”.

@@davidkendall1614 I mean, there are some AK products I do like. The weathering pencils for one. The AK chrome. Brushes are OK, but could replace them with something else.
I am a Vallejo dealer, so their paint, pigments and weathering mean nothing to me. I just don't see why they are trying to reinvent the wheel with this.

@@viper29ca I agree. Small world Scott! I am one of your ECH customers. I have AK, Vallejo, Ammo of Mig, Tamiya, GSI, Model Master, LifeColor, Revell, VMS…and on it goes. But the way they slice and dice a product category is disconcerting. It is too the point where I am saying “You just sold me the latest and greatest, and now you have another new product you want me to buy that basically does the same thing, only better? Why did you just sell me the other stuff? Ah, progress. Take care bud.

@@davidkendall1614 I mean.....why is there a Gen 3 paint? Why do the first 2 gens so bad they don't do the job, so you had to make a 3rd gen? I will just stick with Vallejo.

Starting to tire of this company. Personal opinion only…why do we need 10,000 products to pursue a hobby? Simple answer is “we don’t”. The endless variations of similar products (oodles of shades of washes, filters, effects that are essentially the same thing thinned to different consistencies and slight variations of colours…repackaging of oils…a gazillion glues, pigments, earth effects, mud, shaders, streaking grimes, etc. etc. etc.) do little but confuse and grab your money. It would be a lot more friendly to the model maker if there were a few innovative products with a guide on how to combine them to different effect…but of course that is counter to the corporate profit objective.

Every single company does this, just say you hate Ammo. It's OK.

@@K3ns4i But I don’t. I have a shelf full of it. The point was the approach gets unnecessarily complicated for no positive effect to their consumer. “Every single company” is driven by profit. “Every single company” does not pursue needless derivative products and endless stupid videos on how to use their game changing innovations like “blades” and “tape”.

@@davidkendall1614 I mean, isn't it like this with car and tech companies? To be fair most companies of scale modelling products do this but on a minor scale, but the thing is also that most of them don't have their own YT channel or they don't constantly "make" new products or rebrand others as their own. You have the power to decide if a different handle or material of the same old thing will benefit you or not. Also bear in mind that we are in Europe, a some other brands products are not as widely available or not available at all here. So their products can't be bought. Don't get me wrong, I don't buy ammo anymore since i moved to other brands, but it always is interesting how a lot of ppl bash ammo for practically anything.

@@K3ns4i In reality, as modellers we likely have more in common than any difference of opinion we may have on Ammo of Mig. And I agree with you that more choice in the hobby is a good thing. I just find that trying to ascertain “what’s the difference between THIS and THAT?” is frustrating, not user friendly.
