- Conservative Laura Farris completely debunks claims from her own party colleagues that the Privileges Committee report into Boris Johnson misleading parliament over Partygate was politically motivated.

Sadly true. Even her having to justify her position is proof enough of that.
That's likely to get her deselected.
Can't have integrity, professionalism and accountability in the Tory Party.
True , I believe alot of the party membership are still die hard Johnson supporters . Fair play to Laura for the tribute to Harriet and her speech in general . Not sure if it was just me , but I think the MP sat behind her was Natalie Elphick and at one brief point she made it obvious what she thought about a party colleague daring to perhaps be critical of the MPs who were critical of the committee .
The kind of candidate they need if they want to attract swing voters.

Laura Farris Theyworkforyou.
@@StratsRUs I'm no Tory supporter but this obsession with voting records is insane. MPs are required, by their parties, to vote according to the whips. Very few votes are 'free' votes. If they don't vote as instructed by the whips, they face getting expelled from the party and losing their seat. It's the Parliamentary tradition of Collective Responsibility to encourage a cohesive unit and has always been the case. An individual member's voting record means nothing more than what the party line was at the time.
More of her please
Nah she probably drew the short straw, a wee bit of Tory spin as they try and draw the media away from those who attacked the committee and it seems to be working this clip is everywhere and people are talking about "adults in politics" exactly like when Sunak said the "honesty, integrity and accountability" bollocks.

By keeping her mouth shut. Now he's gone, I hope more of these mythical Tories start to come out of the woodwork. Still not going to save them in the next G.E though.
She came after that. Her predecessor Richard Benyon fell foul of the great purge and she replaced him at the next election.
She's one of the very few Tory MPs from the 2019 intake to be a known member of the One-Nation Caucus or the liberal wing of the Tory Party (think the likes of Sir John Major, Michael Heseltine, Ken Clarke, Nicholas Soames, Dominic Grieves, Rory Stewart, Justine Greening and Amber Rudd to name a few). She and likes of the Rees-Mogg, Patel and the other Tories names in the report are on opposite ideological ends of the Tory Party.
