Olympic champions Keegan Palmer and Yosozumi Sakura front the park skaters heading to the Aljada skate park in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, to compete for world titles and Paris 2024 qualification ranking points.
The road to Paris 2024 will begin for park skateboarders at the 2022 World Park Skateboarding Championships in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, from 5-12 February.
The week-long contest to determine two new world champions will also double-up as an Olympic qualification event with ranking points handed out to skaters based on their results.
The competition will start with a men and women's open qualifier where those that finish in the top 32 will advance to the quarterfinals. There, the skaters that are pre-seeded based on their Olympic World Skate Ranking (OWSR), will join the competition phase.
A quarterfinal and semi-final will then cut down the field until just eight remain for the final which will be streamed live on Olympics.com on Sunday 12 February.
From Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallist Keegan Palmer to Great Britain's Sky Brown, in attendance at the Aljada skate park there will be no shortage of star power coming in Sharjah.

THANKYOU TO OLYMPICS SKATEBOARDING,MUCH RESPECT FROM NEW ZEALAND...
Congratulations Akio for the win
Congratulations to all the medalists! Special and unique moment in the universe. My favorite skaters and special props for Sakura, Augusto, for pushing the barrier and revolutionizing, and Jagger Eaton for competing on Olympic level both in street and bowl.
i here ya brother, respect to all of em,they the best in the world.respect to you and yours brother ELDER,FROM NEW ZEALAND......
I just love how all the women cheer for each other and hug and smile :) They rip so hard and they appreciate and celebrate everyone of them
not jst the women
I have huge respect for Jagger for being able to compete in street and park skateboarding. But he got overscored both of those tournaments. Augustus run was the real deal!
Switch switch switch ftw
Akio had better run than Jagger..not even close really.
Sky was awesome
Augusto Akio merecia ser campeão!!!
todos se lo merecen, uno solo se lo gana
Can we get some big big BIG ups for Gregson.....!!!!! Dude could be competing in this thing, but dedicated to giving the viewers the best possible experience......hope more kids recognize this talent and follow.....📽️
seriously, I'm just glad competitions like this are hiring people like gregson, couldn't have hired a better filmer lol
@@ianfacerollsyou there is no better filmer for live events, no one goes into the park for follow cams but Gregson.
@@thomasgroh3276 Got to have some trust from the skaters to be able to.
@@JohnSane what are you talking about.....??? What skater doesn't trust Gregson..???
🤡💩
@@thomasgroh3276 That was exactly my point. I was refering to the part of the comment that "no one goes into the park for follow cams but Gregson"
Jagger is a beast on street and park
DEAR LORD AKIO RIPS!!!!!!!! I MEAN DAYUM HES THE REAL DEAL!!!!
Augusto Akio the really winner!!!
Akio definetly won that tournament
The comradery of these athletes is great, even though there competing against each other they no the difficulty of this Sport and high five everyone.. especially on a great run.
Men's final starts @ 1:18:12
My guy x
54:40 Sky Brown final run 90.83
Thanks mate
Great Britain first skateboard world champion, the long wait is finally over.and hope the newspaper leave her alone in the UK with interviews I can see her on GMB tomorrow in the UK because she has been on there a few times.
@DanS I agree, 2 days after saw a advert, with brown ,for Volvo car's.on ITV.
im in love with jagger
Outro compilation at 2:02:11 is cool. Those outros go under the radar a bit. Well put together.
Any idea what the song is?
@@ntnnotnot sure tbh
That is a maximized run by Jagger 👏👏👏 love his attitude
Akio was definitely the winner in my book, but to be fair neither creativity nor originality is a criteria for this contest, so I understand why they decided to score Jagger higher. All in all a great performance out of both of them. Loved seeing how much this meant to Jagger. A well deserved victory.
Jagger Eaton got completely overscored. That brazilian kid deserved it much more.
I totally agree with you
I agree! Those blunt flip outs is much easier than people think it is
Nah
Did anyone else do flip in / flip out?
@@markbityuk293 lol you're high, kickflip noseblunt on a 12 foot quarter is not easy whatsoever. Theres a reason you never see anyone but him do them.
Barros has been doing the same run for years! There were two back D's, 2 Frontside smith's and three 50-50's in his 90 point run. What about trick variety? Most of the other guys do a different trick on each wall.
Realmente, a nota do Jagger foi estranha.
Is this showing as unavailable for anyone else on desktop???
Since I am ignorant when it comes to park, compared to street and vert. Why don't people do mctwists in park compared to vert? They seem to clearly get the height needed to do so. If anyone could break it down for me, I would really appreciate it.
Idk about that 93 what happened
Jagger deserved to win. Nothing wrong with the judging there.
What is this beast Dubstep track playing on Augusto Akio's first run?
Omg Akio
Rune talking about the coping turned me on big time
Yeah Sky 🙌
Akio should have gotten 1st,...but still, epic that Jagger can compete in BOTH Street&Park.
Sky Brown 🇬🇧❤
Has ever one noticed that Liam Pace looks exactly like the villain from Megamind? :D
A Sky Brown 🇬🇧
I can't believe I missed this to . . . do a frontside booster (boneless) + finger flip to tail disaster . . . revert out
Foot plant and late for the bus in 1st. Judges, what?
they are not stoked. they are just super hyped
lovely skate girl times
Jagger Eaton looks like who someone would describe a Californian surfer to look like when they have never seen a Californian surfer.
🇺🇸🌎🌍🇺🇸
crazy girls getting steezy 🙂
Jagger the best
Song at 2:02:14 please ???
FYI- been listening to Hawk vs Wolf and y’all aren’t supposed to say MUTE GRAB anymore. It’s been updated to WETTLE grab. Now you know and knowing is half the battle GI-JOE!
1:30:22 song???
nossa...na cara dura
Akkio should have won just for his originaity.Eaton did basically the same runs he does since the Olympics:(
that's not really the problem in my opinion, his last trick was done with 5 seconds on the clock and he even fell off the board riding switch before zero on the clock! 5 seconds out of 45 is more than 10% of wasted time btw
Lo dico italiano! Questo park è troppo grande! Escono in pochi fuori dal coping anche i maschi! Sembra un Halfpipe! Le transizioni dovrebbero essere leggermente più basse!
not fair at all i call total bullshit on jagger eaton winning. Pedro definitely should have gotten first place. Boo
nooo way, akio did it better definitely...
Isso foi um roubo faltava 7 segundos ainda para acabar a volta do jagger japinha andou muito mais
The Japanese women dominated the top 4 spots.
Brazil should have won that 100%
feels like it was rigged,no way it was a 93.
I see lots of people putting the brazillians first: yes, their runs looked more aggressive, but jaggers run was very classy and tight. could have been other way around, but saying it is clear is just unawareness of personal bias. It was close and very different at these same time, as is reflected in the scores.
@DanS I think athletic fits as well, though I like his style. Yes, sometimes a tad too much ballet. Though, not a bad fit for the olympics don't you think? I like tight and snappy. How about alex sorgente?
@@dasdeck yeah. Alex Sorgente is a power house.
Song at 1:30:32 ? Thanks in advance :)
Smoke on the water . Lol so random
@@djmrtibbs I couldn't found....
@@gustavo_Srjsj smoke on the water - deep purple
Cara, foi ridículo o Jagger Eaton ficar na frente do Japinha. Roubalheira descarada. Isso dá nojo
You are kidding 93 for thatttt, come-on everybody knows the truth behind.
Jugghead Eatons skating reminds me of a stale loaf of bread
Nonsense. That was clean. A tasty bun.
@@ntnnot facts
Commentators for these events are so hard to listen to. They know what they're talking about but sound like the most generic non-American sports commentators ever.
Please get commentators that actually skateboards so they know what the f*** they're talking about, instead of saying stupid s*** that all skateboarders know is not true.
Rune Glifberg was a commentator.
one of the guys commentating was literally rune glifberg
@@Idahosteez I already said that.
Rune Glifberg apparently doesn’t skate…this is news to me. The other guy is a bit annoying but he didn’t get any tricks wrong. I wish they spoke more on the judging because Jagger’s first run was more difficult and smoother than any other run and was underscored. Thankfully he stepped up and rightfully won in the end. Idk why everyone is saying Akio should have won. His run was sketchy and nowhere near as technical as Jagger’s (and Jagger had a gnarly 540 and heelflip Indy back to back). Dude literally hopped off his board and did a caveman in the middle of his run lol. But I’m sure the commentary can’t say much on the judging just to make the whole event seem more legitimate.
Got Rune Glifberg commentating and you state this. Congrats for your Donkey of the Day award.
Congratulations Akio for the win
