Easily the best guitar lessons on the internet, and quite simply fantastic playing. So many thanks from all the amateurs out here just trying to learn. Your tips comments and encouragement thruout the lesson go a long way.
Thank you. I knew this song tried it many times, liked it but never really satisfied with my musicianship while playing this song. Your video helped me perfect some missing pieces and made me so happy! Thank You so much!!
Thank you Shane for this gift of knowledge and time. I just couldn't get the stum and little hammer-on without you for this one. Love the "stop tape, rewind" reminders. I utilize the settings (gear) to slow the video til I get the patterns, then normal speed. Cheers! You really helped me progress.
You get the little things spot on. It has helped me improve my sound. Thank you very much. I hope you share an acoustic lesson on Learn to be Still someday. Haven't heard anyone capture the Eagles sound as well as you, even if it is a simple song.
Thanks for that Davesh - much appreciated. Always great to hear from people who are enjoying and benefitting from these videos. Great song suggestion. I'm going to do that song for sure. Cheers! Shane
Well done Shane. This is the third song that you have taught me. Just started on it this morning. Just trying to nail that G/G6 strumming part right now. I'm starting to GET it. Thanks a lot for the great lessons. And Merry Christmas
Your videos are SO inspirational. I’m probably too old to learn to be any good, but I love the sound getting some of this music right. Still can’t play a C chord without muting the G and D string, though
Recently came across your channel. New sub now! Thanks for breaking down the strum pattern on this! Oh, and thanks to your barista for helping keep your video upbeat, it makes a 12 minute video feel like 5 minutes!
Terrific lesson of an awesome Eagles song Shane! I am still a long way from being able to play anything like that but it's still fun trying. I am not certain but I think that Bernie Leadon played the lead guitar part on that song early on. He is an amazing guitar player who was very instrumental to the success of the group.
That strum--right hand-- is MUCH harder to sustain than it looks - once you practice it though, it is a relaxed, really sweet feel. The hammer-ons are simple. It's that DOWN-UP that he's breaking down that is tricky to master
thanks Shane another awesome Eagles tune. How about doing Already gone or One of these nights or maybe Witchy woman or New kid in town ???????? There are so many good Eagles tunes just love em all
Recently found your channel subscribed straight away. Enjoy your presentation and plenty of new songs to go through. My new discipline to practise properly watching your videos is strumming patterns which you explain really well. Thanks again ...... and first to view!!
it would be nice if every tutorial video started out with the song being played from beginning to end so you could always go back and reference as you go along just my simple two cents, it just seems like it would help a person develop the timing for the changes to the different chords in a different parts of the song to be able to go directly to those parts in the song and hear how it's done you do a beautiful job of breaking down what's going on but there's still no complete version of the song before or after your tutorial.
great song Shane thank u for breaking it down so beautifully ! old girlfriend of mine told me that the song was about me guess sometimes i learned the hard way
Fantastic lesson!! Thank you!! Can you please think about their "I Can't Tell You Why?" As already mentioned by mk phelps below, so many good tunes to choose from!!
Thank you Carolina - you're right - So many great songs to do....I'll add that one to the list for sure. I really appreciate your feedback and am glad to have you with us! Shane
Thanks Shane. It took me years to find the "6th." note ( A) and have played this song and singing it since the 70s . How can i contribute yo lessons and sheets.
You are Absolutely a great Guitar teacher Shane ! Greetings from Sarnia ON Great lesson could you possibly do Elvin bishop Fooled around and fell in love
Shane, absolutely loving your lessons and the play along series, how ever your doing it really seems too work for me. Hope you don’t mind if I ask for a couple of things. On this song I think you’ll agree it’s all about the strum and your description is great but I was wishing that as you were show us the timing at first, can you play it in two or three bars lengths, I think it would help me at least in getting the feel, as it were. You got there eventually but I was looking for it before you said we could stop and try and burn it in. Sec, the idea of the beat buddy is great but till I get one, one of my amps is a Fender G-Dec which has built in drum machine. Was wondering if in here or on the worksheets you could also give us a suggested rhythm to use with the song if possible. Thanks again Wally
Love your lessons, but I wish you’d count out the rhythm more often. You did it once with the main strumming pattern, but I wish you’d do it more often. It’s more helpful than you saying down, up etc. Just my opinion, though. Maybe I’m being too picky.
You spent an ETERNITY on strumming !!....Which wasnt needed !!....most people that watch these videos do so to get someone else's input on chord changes ...and licks !!....to learn something they're perhaps missing !!....and dont need a full tutorial on basic guitar on a beginner level !!
Not everyone is in the same place Tony - these videos are broad for a reason - it is the hope that people at many levels in their development will benefit - Cheers - Shane
Best explanation of the strumming pattern I've seen.
Many thanks 🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸

Like the way you teach. Great for me as a beginner. Thanks much.

Thank you Antwon - glad to have you with us!
Shane
Bro thank you again!
Shane? Why do you not cover the instrumental in the song in your class?
Ah - good question - could do on a separate video as most people only really want the chords and strumming pattern. Happy New Year!
Shane
Love the lesson. Learn it quick before Don Henley takes it down on you guys.
He (Henley) should take a lesson from Iain Anderson!!!
Shane, absolutely loving your lessons and the play along series, how ever your doing it really seems too work for me.

Hi Wally - great to hear from you and excellent suggestions!
Shane
Could you post a video of San Fransico Bay Blues by Eric Clapton, the strumming pattern of that song is a bit tricky for me
Great suggestion Louis - thank you!
Shane
Who is giving thumbs down? WTH?
Thanks Ronnie - I appreciate the support!
Shane

Shane I can't find the sheet on your page. Removed?
Hi there - you’ll find it at guitaratwork.ca
Cheers! Shane
B-minor incorrectly called D-minor.
although you may have to change the name of the song and the band slightly or they will block it
Thank you mk - Still trying to figure out this copyright stuff. Best to you!
Shane
No B in the G chord, man!
A fun strum, but quite the struggle to sing the melody while strumming it.
There's only one Shane Simpson
Thanks Brendan - good to hear from you lad - see you Sunday!
Shane
Love your lessons, but I wish you’d count out the rhythm more often. You did it once with the main strumming pattern, but I wish you’d do it more often. It’s more helpful than you saying down, up etc. Just my opinion, though. Maybe I’m being too picky.
Grteawt lesson. Wish it was easier to find your Paypal to send you some money.
Guitar is being strummed way too hard.. This is a slow, delicate song.
Your right hand is totally out of control it was completely off the face of the guitar on your strumming. You really need to get that together
Huh?
you talk too fast
You spent an ETERNITY on strumming !!....Which wasnt needed !!....most people that watch these videos do so to get someone else's input on chord changes ...and licks !!....to learn something they're perhaps missing !!....and dont need a full tutorial on basic guitar on a beginner level !!
That is your opinion. There are many here who obviously appreciated the time and effort put in to this video.
I disagree many of us are beginners and this song is all about the strum timing.
Not everyone is in the same place Tony - these videos are broad for a reason - it is the hope that people at many levels in their development will benefit - Cheers - Shane
