On the RTK app and under advanced settings you can tell the base where it is (know control point x,y,z) However you are limited to LAT/LON and Meters. I havent had any luck getting this correct. Can you explain how this needs entered in the provided LAT/LON/M boxes? Thank You

I noticed you disconnected the wifi hotspot before you were going to fly. I thought I needed to keep wifi hotspot connected to fly since we have no cellular dongle. When do I actually need the hotspot and when do I not?

The problem we have found is, that as soon as we link the D-RTK-2 one of the transmitters is disconnected. I mean that it seems impossible to have three devices linked to the M210 at the same time. We have made a hundred tests and, whatever the third device we try to link, one of the other two is disconnected. I have tried to get information from everywhere and I could not find anything. Obviously, we need to fly with RTK as well as a pilot and camera operator. Would you be so kind as to tell us if you have any information regarding this issue? Great general explanation. Its not much published about Phantom 4 RTK yet, so this one helps a lot for the ones that are in survey. I saw a description saying that the maximum distance is 2km from the station, so for surveying along roads I imagine... set ground station, fly and move 4 kilometers and do it again... any one knows how to use this RTK along roads? regards
yep it does. when you create a job file in rtk mode (2D, 3D, waypoint, etc types), once you transfer the data to your PC and open the job file, you will see a rinex observation file that you can put into your post-processing ware.
Not good ones. Control surveying doesn't work that way, neither does GPS. It can give you coordinates but they are not aligned to any state grid. Nor will their precision be any good. It only gives high relative (within itself) accuracy (precision) when used in conjunction with the rover (DGPS) and it is the rover getting the good results, in this case the UAV. Never will this system provide high absolute accuracy. You need ground control for that. Installed by a qualified and experienced Land Surveyor. Even if it did fluke out perfect accuracy, there are coordinate transformations required as it surveys everything in geographic coordinates with no option to select a projected transformation, making it useless to most clients who want their data in a state plane with orthometric (not ellipsoidal hts). Without specialist knowledge and software you either cannot apply a transformation to the dataset or cannot be sure it worked. Finally, without ground control, even if it did work, you have no way of telling. What's worse is if it didn't work and you send it off causing a big$$ stuff up, you have a problem you don't want. Proper ground control provides a means to asses the accuracy of your survey both within itself and to a state coordinate system. It is a good system in the right hands, though I worry inexperienced operators may scare potential clients off for a long time. From what I can tell, this has already in fact happened.

It is not necessary to use the MG-app for linking the Phantom4-RC. You can use the GS-RTK app for that!
