For me this is the best time of year , it has its up and downs , the stress of calving / lambing is nearly over, , then the weather begins to change, there's new life , new energy, the land begins to dry, its a great day ,when all animals are fed and healthy and the sun is shining... damn near to contentment as you can get.
Dad, loved the GREEN ACRES reference. That was funny. I loved that show when I was growing up on a Kansas Farm. That’s when I learned how ‘not bright’ city folk were. Then 30 years later I moved to NYC. It’s true. They don’t know a thing about farm living or how to fix anything even around an apt.

Lots of little calves hope the prices are good when they sell. I put an 18.4 x34 tire in the round bale feeders holds the hay off the ground and the cattle clean up the hay so much better. Also gets rid of another 4020 tire. Be safe out there we need you.
The disappearing calves give you a chance to play with your new wheels and what man doesn't like playing with his toys? It's good that your mom feeds you after helping her unlike your dad! Thanks so much! The standing water is only temporary (we have more droughts than wet years) and the cost of irrigation pumps/pipes would not be worth it.

I use a blade called linoleum blade in my utility knife to cut bale wrap. Lasts a lot longer than a straight utility blade.
