Louis Prima and Keeley Smith had great onstage chemistry together, as we see here. The couple was married in 1953 and would divorce in 1961 (a year after this Sullivan Show appearance). As an interesting aside, Keeley would continue to perform (as a "single") well into her eighties and (incredibly enough) her voice stayed as strong and clear as it is here - and, in addition, she still retained her trim and youthful looks. Miss Smith passed on in late 2017, at age 89. Rest both their souls. Thanks for all the fun posts!
@@miltonmoore8369 Visited Vegas in 1994 and Ms. Smith and the band were playing in the neighboring room. Snuck a look in a door opening to watch her and Mr. Butera perform. A few minutes of the old Vegas magic.
This is the first time I have ever SEEN them. I've heard their records for over 40 years. I can see why they were a must see in Vegas. Too bad I missed it.
I just lived these two. They were always so fun to watch and the band is the best. I'd love to have that Les Paul the guitar player is using. I miss REAL entertainment and you could always find the best on The Ed Sullivan Show. ❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for this video showing why that and Keeley were one of the top night club acts of their day. They were true entertainers with a tight knit band , too bad that by the time I could go to Las Vegas, they had broken up. 😢! Have a great day!

That is SAM BUTERA with her here. He was a SAXAPHONE player.😊😊
