My gf is a magic player and I FINALLY convinced her to learn yugioh, we started with edison format and she pretty much understood it and was dueling competently in about 30 mins and enjoying it. This is the real G.O.A.T. format if u ask me

@@T3AMmokeyM0KEY I'd say that if there were no dragon rulers, mermeils and spellbooks, yugioh would have been excellent from 2006 to 2014, otherwise those three in the game, 2006 to 2012 and 2014 is the golden age of yugioh. After that 2015-2020 were good times, but definitely not as good and 2021 to present is just dumb.
What you achieved so far, wether people recognize it or not, is something most people won’t ever experience in their life and that alone is something to be proud of. Things I want to personally see in the future. - Konami releasing a retro Edison pack with high rarity Edison cards. (I can dream) - More massive tournaments. (inevitable) - Ladder support from DB (less likely than all the above lol)

With the amount of profound impact this format has had on my and my friend's lives, I honestly think the numbers underplay the mountains you've moved, and I'm mostly on the outside looking in. A true craftsman, living the dream of many duelists. It's been an immense pleasure watching your journey and the community you've built, and will continue to blossom because of how you did it. I just recently found out about Edison format. I played semi competitively back then and I loved that Era of yugioh. This has brought that love and joy back to me.
I can't thank you and everyone else who helped bring Edison format to light enough. Edison format single-handedly has brought back my old friend group from when we used to play yugioh in the 2011-2015ish era. None of us have liked modern yugioh for some time now and have always wanted a consistent format like Edison to play, and now all of us love it.

Edison format is the most fun I’ve ever had playing yugioh. I think it’s the perfect point in the history of the game in terms of GOAT format feeling “too soon” and everything after slowly changing the game a little too much for me personally. I’ve had so much fun playing different decks and grinding to get better. My goal is to top a locals or event to earn that LAD mat and that’s what continues to drive me while I have so much fun in the process. Thanks for all you’ve done Keegan.
I'm just glad I got into the Format when Pulling the Rug was still 0,20€ xD Jokes aside, I still remember not believing my eyes when I first saw the Jeff Jones Quickdraw list. How could a deck be this fucking based?! In fact, the entire Top16 was so diverse and almost all decks totally grabbed my attention. Perfect Format is Edison Format with no Dark End as no one not even the people playing in the event owned a Dark End and mali plague into Dark End gives me sadness. I am so proud of both you and the community to see how far we have taken this. As someone who was here from the start I 100% believe the reason the channel blew up because of an accidental perfect execution of the funny guy and straight man routine. Every now and then I go back to watch you and James arguing about if you had a game shot or not. PEAK shenanigans really solidified that the format was about hanging with the boys.
I can see your point. But at least dark end isn’t as game warping as crush card or gold Sarc were on release. Back then if you had those on release, it was so unfair. At least dark end isn’t something that every deck can use

You cannot imagine the rush I felt when I met a guy I used to theorycraft with back during TeleDAD format and hadn't seen in almost 10 years at a locals in Madrid to play Edison. So many people got together during the pandemic around this format to make the most of a horrible situation and we've created something truly beautiful. My first edison game was at locals where 2 of my friends played lightsworn vs some other deck and then one went to the toilet and I just sat I'm playing this game for you now. Lightsworn is my favorite archetype of all time though back in the day I couldnt afford it but I had so much fun (sacked the other guy pretty hard) and just picked up the cards again and fell in love with the format.
I have loved Edison format ever since I jumped back in. I ordered a ton of Edison era cards to build a cube, then realized I could use some of the cards to construct a few decks to teach yugioh. I have taught my brother in law how to play through this lovely format you have highlighted. Thanks! When I taught his sister modern, she hated it 😅
You’re not wrong about goat. I’m Mainly a Goat player but the format is extremely sacky. It is “skill” intensive but then you or your opponent opens the trinity and all card advantage is lost and it becomes a steam roll.

While in Goat every deck has COMPLETELY different playstyles. Chaos turbo, Warrior, Goat Control, Burn, Cat OTK, Reasoning Gate Turbo, earth aggro etc. Also, just like in Edison, there are lots of decks that have potential to start topping but nobody plays them simply because they are not proven and most people just want to play the most proven deck to give them the highest chance at winning without effort/innovation.

When I try to convince people to play Edison format, I look for youtube videos and although there are many many great videos like yours, I still haven't found a single concise video demonstrating Edison format that is included with some entertaining highlights of the Edison duels in real life that depicts all the characteristics that make Edison format so great. I feel like such one video would definitely pull a lot of people into playing this format.
@@E3YuGiOh Could you share the names of those videos please, because so far I have only known about the one called "Beginner's guide and intro to Edison Format", and it is great, succintly informative. But I feel like a high quality video that involves some real life duels cuts to hightlight the entertaining features of the format (nostalgia, many turns and reasonable pace, interactions, high skills, diverse decks,...) would better give people a general impression of what the format is and draw their interest easily, since gameplay is the most important factor. And then once they are hooked on, everything else like historical backgrounds, rulings, errata of cards, etc can be explained later. I know many people started playing the game after Link monsters were made. They could only played the modern version, and although they had some fun initially/ some of the times, they gradually get tired of the game because of the same reasons many Edison enjoyers had (uninteractive gameplay, high cost, monotonous decks, ...) but can not categorize those problems and know nothing about other ways to play the game so they never really look for other formats and just keep "suffering" the modern version while rarely and seemingly enough have some fun, if it makes any sense. So I think a video with little spoken or written information but just mainly fun real gameplays while cleverly demonstrate the fundamental characteristics which made the format so interesting will better suit them. And even other people who have never play the game

Ycs Indy 2024 had over 250 players in Ultimate Edison and they ran over 20 Edison 8 mans that’s amazing

A lot of people hate modern yugioh and want to play the kind of yugioh like Edison Format but never know about it. When I try to convince people to play Edison format, I look for youtube videos and although there are many many great videos like yours, I still haven't found a single concise video demonstrating Edison format that is included with some entertaining highlights of the Edison duels in real life that depicts all the characteristics that make Edison format so great. I feel like such one video would definitely pull a lot of people into playing this format.

@@E3YuGiOh Could you share the names of those videos please, because so far I have only known about the one called "Beginner's guide and intro to Edison Format", and it is great, succintly informative. But I feel like a high quality video that involves some real life duels cuts to hightlight the entertaining features of the format (nostalgia, many turns and reasonable pace, interactions, high skills, diverse decks,...) would better give people a general impression of what the format is and draw their interest easily, since gameplay is the most important factor. And then once they are hooked on, everything else like historical backgrounds, rulings, errata of cards, etc can be explained later.
I know many people started playing the game after Link monsters were made. They could only played the modern version, and although they had some fun initially/ some of the times, they gradually get tired of the game because of the same reasons many Edison enjoyers had (uninteractive gameplay, high cost, monotonous decks, ...) but can not categorize those problems and know nothing about other ways to play the game so they never really look for other formats and just keep "suffering" the modern version while rarely and seemingly enough have some fun, if it makes any sense. So I think a video with little spoken or written information but just mainly fun real gameplays while cleverly demonstrate the fundamental characteristics which made the format so interesting will better suit them. And even other people who have never play the game
