    Hey guys,
    I've figured out that something must have changed internally with the current gen of iphones (14pro). Completely solved with the newest DDHifi cable. Updated video and more info below.

      I believe all the issues are the OTG protocol for their cables and all OTG spec cables. The camera adapter bypasses the OTG issues, I had one from before switching from iPhone to Samsung to utilize lightning OTG > adapter > rme adi2 / bifrost 2

    I am the owner of a Mojo2 now for over a year. I also had the sudden blasting white noise problem on my apple devices. The dealer told me to use the apple camera adapter on my iPhone and any double adapter on my computer. This solved my problem permanently. You can’t connect just a single cable from an Apple device directly to the Mojo2 or you may get blasted. You need a double cable. Chord knows this but they do not tell their customers this. This is very dangerous because the noise blast is sufficient to cause hearing damage.
    I filed a complaint with the FTC and the US consumer product safety commission but all they do is document it.
    Until they get sued they will refuse to acknowledge this problem and do something about it.
    This is an irresponsible company and these products should be pulled off the retail shelves until they solve the problem.

    • @MisterChibs
      @MisterChibs  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for sharing your experience here Alan. It seems to be related to the cable and the way the lightning port forms a handshake with the Mojo. Lightning is proprietary and my guess is that all of these third party cable manufactures find workarounds in order to not have to pay Apple. This would make sense as to why the apple camera connector works and straight cables don't.
      I'm testing out an updated cable that while pricey seems to work perfectly 🤞🏻. Once I'm 100% sure of this I'll update on a pinned comment of this video, so stay tuned for that. 🍻

      What exactly do you mean by a double adapter? I use my Mojo2 connected to a Macbook Air M2 with a single USB-C to USB-C cable. I recently had the white noise blast for the first time and it couldn't have come at a worse time.

      I’d recommend either the FiiO Lt-Lt3 or Lt-Lt4 as you can connect it directly from your phone to the Mojo 2. I’ve never once had white noise

      The real question is why, if the problem is as described above, did the white noise issue not manifest from day one? My Mojo2 worked perfectly for six or seven months with a FiiO USB C to lightning “short cable’ and also with a similar cable that came with a Cayin R6 dongle but when the problem eventually manifested it persisted and persists to this day making the chord pretty much unusable.

      They also have the newly released FiiO Lt-lt4 if you’re interested in a newer version though it uses a braided nylon covered cable instead of a soft rubber with nearly zero micro phonics of the Lt-lt3.
      It seems as though the Lt4 has a gold plated usb connector so that might be better as the Lt3 has no such plating. I also don’t know if there is a significant sound difference (considering it just transfers the sound) but mostly like always, the newer the cable revision, the more likely for the sound to be better.
      And the Lt4’s cable is roughly 2.5 times the length of the short roughly 8 inches of the lt3. I honestly want to buy the Lt4 because the Lt3’s cable is way too short for me at least.

      Have you tried the Apple camera adapter? I have not had any problems with it and iOS devices. A regular cable may have issues as Apple has claimed that 3rd party cables and adapters may not have the chip required to authenticate the transfer. You may consider this BS but it may be a real issue. That Mofi certification may be a requirement as so many 3rd party sellers have saturated the market with goods that are not compatible.

    iOS devices do not have “exclusive mode” for DACs. This means that system sounds (clicks, alarms, etc.) can be tossed into the stream going to the DAC. No problem if your music is at lower sampling rates, but if you are running higher rates and then the system tosses in a low-rate system sound, you get a blast of white noise. So it is worthwhile to turn off system sounds and go into Do Not Disturb mode. Cables can also cause trouble (as can the iPhone’s own lightning connector which might benefit from a swab or two of DeOxit) but try Do Not Disturb mode first.

    Hi Mr. Chibs! Really like the way you make the video, so I'd like to humbly ask for your opinions:
    - Do you think of a DAP that sounds as good as the Mojo 2?
    I know the Mojo 2 competes with desktop-level DACs, but I was looking for a mobile solution, so either a dedicated DAP (I'm looking at the new Astell & Kern SR35) or the Mojo 2 + Mobile phone for me.
    The added mobility and elegance is a plus for me, but if at more or less the same price, no DAP can beat the Mojo 2, I'd still go for the Mojo 2 because for me sound quality is most important. Would like to hear everyone's opinions if possible. Thank you guys :)

    • @MisterChibs
      @MisterChibs  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! I don't think you can get better sound quality out of a dap than you can with the Mojo2 (currently). It's SQ competes favourably with desktop DACs and DACs on my expensive integrated amps. If you're considering getting a DAP I think the main reason is that you don't want your phone with you so you're better able to disconnect. I always like to have my phone with me and find the ui, hardware, and overall experience is better on my iPhone than a DAP could offer. If I want to "Disconnect" I can turn it on airplane mode.
      Happy to change my mind if I come across a better solution but that's how I feel for now. The phone offers the best hardware / Ui and the Mojo II puts out stellar sound. Hope this helps!

The white noise showed up when I tried to adjust the volume of the Mojo2. The white noise disappeared after unplugging/replugging the USB C cable from the iPad charging port. Had a friend over and been playing music for good 10 hours when suddenly white noise blasted. Reconnected the iPad, and after 10 minutes, hiss blast again, then gain after 10 minutes. Restarting the iPad solved the issue for the next 30 minutes. Been listening to music for a couple of hours today and only got blasted once. I started out with a USB c to micro USB. Fine as long as I didn't finnagle the cable, but of course, as soon as I moved the unit or put it in a pocket: Blast! White noise explosion.
    I upgraded my phone to a pixel, still had white noise blasts. Got a USB c to USB c cable from a random charger I wasn't using and solved a lot of the Blasts. But I noticed that when the connected cable, either end, faced down in a pocket, the Blasts came back. U either have to have Darko Audio sized pockets (apparently he's over 2m tall), or be rather careful the USB connections don't get jostled around.

    Hi there! I'm here to report that this is not only an iPhone related issue, it also happens with Android phones. I just got the Mojo 2 and I get the same white noise blast when I connect it directly to my Samsung S22 Ultra. Interesting enough I had already watched your video while I was researching about the Mojo 2, when this happened to me I remembered hearing about it somewhere and I came back here. It's frustrating that there's not an official post or update addressing this issue. However I found the solution of using the Mojo 2 with a phone a little impractical and I have always had in my mind the idea of pairing it with the Poly even if the price is ridiculous. After this issue it's a must. Soundwise is impressive though rivaling my Topping Stack

    I recently had white noise from the Mojo2, the first time in the 6 months I've owned it. I connect to a Macbook Air M2 with an Apple USB-C to USB-C cable. The Mojo2 was also connected to a USB wall power adapter. The change to white noise occurred at the precise moment when someone turned on a fan that was on the same wall power circuit as my Macbook and the USB power. So I assumed it was some kind of a power problem. I unplugged the power, restarted the Mojo2, and it went back to normal. Any ideas are welcome. A DAC is useless if it will randomly start outputting white noise!
