It may or may not have been due to it wearing off early too! I’m on a low dose and when it wears off and I’m not done with what I need to do I get irritated, not because the drug itself, but because I’m not done and I’m back to not having a functioning brain. Just something to consider! I hope y’all find his or her “perfect match”!

I was diagnosed with add about 3-4 months ago, and I've been taking vyvanse ever since. Took about a month to find the right dosage, but it's mind blowing how well it works for me to improve my lifestyle!
And the only side effect I've experienced is an increased heart rate (prior heart-rate: 60-65, after taking medication: 70-75).

+FPKMASSACRE another thing here is that you HRV probably will decrease a little. and its also possible you will experience longer QT-intervals, as this was a common sideeffect in the methylphendiate group. However, this should not matter much unless youre older, like 45-50 and up. . i had a completely opposite reaction than you though, my HR went down and my HRV went up. (which indicates a stronger response in your autonomic nervous system). in my case then by using elvanse(vyvanse) my general health improved, bloodpressure and stress levels actually decreased. But this is in general and perhaps not long term.

@God is Healer yep. Multiple doses aren’t exactly unusual, same with AXR, but the second is, or should, be a lower or much lower dose. It’s possible for it to be the same dose, but that would likely mean it’s a lower overall total milligram ingestion. I’m sure there’s a few out there with some less-than-believable daily prescription routines, though.

I was diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago at the age of 29. My problem is that I also have OCD and panic disorder, so stimulants may not be a good option for me. One good option would be atomoxetin, but it's not available in my country, so fuck me, I guess.

    • @droid7

I also suffer from panic disorder, OCD, and ADHD. I have used Addreal XR, and I have noticed that when I take it, I experience fewer intrusive thoughts and panic episodes. I used to share your belief that stimulants would likely lead to more panic attacks. However, I found that the toughest years I had to manage with OCD and panic disorder were the ones I spent abstaining from medicine for a year. Personally, I realize that when I am taking my medicine, I'm way to focus on whats in front of me to get intrusive thoughts/ panic attacks as much. I hope this help anyone else with this same diagnosis soup.

In my experience medication is given to children from a place of making the child placid/compliant/quiet for the sake of adults, and not to improve the child's symptoms or life. They CAN- but that's not the intention in prescribing or managing which limits the benefit. Especially if they're in an environment devoid of a point of performance. If you put a kid on meds and then isolate them, then even if the meds work perfectly... what has been accomplished?

Do it. I also don't forget what I'm saying while I'm saying it, or what I'm doing while I'm doing it. We are told lost keys is often ADHD. Or blurting out what a teacher says. Or leaving a seat. Or running around. Then we are told people can just sit there and stare into space is ADD or ADHD. Or be quiet and do nothing!!!
This is getting f**king bizarre isn’t it? A disorder is on one hand people running up and down, climbing, bouncing off the walls, shouting, then it is people stealing cars and stabbing others, or shooting others, then it is people who sit there and space out, lose keys, do nothing and are quiet!!!
    Does this make any sense?
We are told people with it are creative and inventive.
So why is that a bad thing?
Then Barkley claims “We haven’t been doing a good job with preschoolers. They are the most under-diagnosed, under-identified, under-treated group of children in the population with mental illness, and this is what got the media so excited”.
What’s got you excited Barkley is the big bucks big Pharma have waved in front of you whilst more kids are diagnosed with Childhood Bipolar and drugged and perhaps killed like Rebecca Riley. Two year olds never have, and don’t and never will have mental illness.
Finally, Barkley said in a speech regarding stimulants with ADHD drugs “If we had a drug for autism that did for that disorder what this drug does for AD/HD we would use it in a heartbeat.”… Well a lot of people are happy being Autistic. It is society and the likes of Barkley who have the problem.
I think that shows the insensitivity and callousness of the man.
Barkley speaks of his desire to drug people with Autism to get rid of it just as he is a drug fanatic for people with so-called ADHD. Barkley and others like him want a world of robots, of gray, drab, conformity where everybody behaves the same, acts the same, thinks the same.
A world full of Russell Barkley’s.
Now how scary and horrifying would that be?
    Pass me the drugs!!!
I want to get rid of the world of Russell Barkley and his ilk.
    Let’s sum Barkley up.
He believes in drugging children with Amphetamines.
    He takes big pharma money.
He drugs children to keep them quiet.
He exaggerates the benefits of drugs and downplays their side effects.
He got a woman fired because she warned too many kids were being diagnosed and drugged.
He is allegedly arrogant, abrasive and a control freak.
I think we are looking at a sociopath here.
    That’s my diagnosis of Barkley.
Well that’s how some people diagnose ADHD on live TV shows such as the Revolution.
