The young Martin Sheen was smokin, and Jack Albertson was a treasure.

This showed me my religion mattered when I was claiming independence at the time. There are still strong attachments!

Martin Sheen and Jack Albertson. Already I figured that out long before the intro came up remembering Albertson in “Chico and The Man”
Imagine if that was Freddie Prinze(Chico) in this episode as God instead of Sheen.

I agree. Freddie Prinze(God rest his soul) made one great Comedian. Albertson and Prinze made a great combination.

Best remembered as Grandpa Joe in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - better to be known here rather than the abysmal Canadian medical drama/unintentional sitcom Dr. Simon Locke aka Police Surgeon

I liked Police Surgeon. It was an intriguing, quirky alternative to the sea of formulaic Hollywood cop shows that I find quite boring. Those old enough to actually remember it like to jump on the bandwagon of bashing it, which is easier than finding its actual virtues. Jack Albertson left the series in its earliest incarnation due to what he believed to be issues with quality and professionalism, which was his prerogative, but I found it to have as many redeeming qualities as another low-budget series with quality control issues called Insight. A certain writer/director/producer named John Meredyth Lucas was a significant contributor to both series. And how can you not like Sam Groom, who turned up here in Christmas 2025 in a role slightly less likeable than that of Dr. Locke. Different strokes for different folks,
