      There's two angles with algebraic definitions. You ask yourself what's the relationship between them?
      Are they?
      Vertical angles (nope)
      Adjacent angles (nope)
      Alternate interior angles (nope)
      Alternate exterior angles (nope)
      Same side interior angles (nope)
      Corresponding angles (nope)
      Complementary angles (nope)
      Unfortunately, they don't apply to any of these. However, both are vertical angles to other angles. When we look into that approach we see the corresponding vertical angles (opposite angles of each) qualify as "Same side interior angles". Since vertical angles are equal to each other we can use the same expressions for our equation. Same side interior angles add up to 180 degrees. Therefore we simplify the following expression for the answer:
      3x + 10 + x - 30 = 180

      At 5:20, we are given two expressions, for two angles that combine to form a right angle, that is a 90 degree angle. Thus we simply add the two angles, and add them up to 90 degrees.
      3*x + x + 10 = 90
      Gather like terms:
      4*x + 10 = 90
      Rearrange to make x the subject:
      x = 80/4
      Solution:
      x = 20

      (3x+10)+(x-30) and since it's supplementary it's 180 degrees;
      combine like terms
      4x-20=180
      then add +20 to twenty and 180, and that will equal to
      4x=200

    I don't understand the comprehension, please can someone explain it to me

    • @carultch
      @carultch Рік тому +2

      Relate the comprehension figure at 6:30 to the figure at 4:17, that names all the angles generated by the transversal through the parallel lines.
      Observe that we are given expressions for angle a, and angle g. Now simply navigate through the transversal angles to form a relationship between angle a and angle g. Angles a and e are corresponding angles, which are therefore equal. Angles e and g add up to a straight angle, which means they are supplementary and add up to 180 degrees. This means that angles a and g add up to 180 degrees, such that the two given expressions must add up to 180 deg.
      Thus:
      (x - 30) + (3*x + 10) = 180
      Gather like terms:
      4*x - 20 = 180
      Rearrange to make x the subject:
      x = 200/4
      x = 50

    Whats the relationship between angles d and g tho??

    • @carultch
      @carultch 2 роки тому +2

      I'd recommend you post timestamps, when asking questions specific to a part of the video, since letters can mean all sorts of different things depending on the context.
      I assume you are talking about the diagram at 4:17. In this diagram, angles d and h are corresponding angles that are therefore congruent. Then angles g and h are supplementary angles, telling us that they add up to 180 degrees. There is no direct relationship that we've named between angles d and g, so we have to go through a couple of steps to conclude that d and g are angles that add up to 180 degrees.

    • @rodger3352
      @rodger3352 Рік тому

      @@carultch Could u please tell me what are those couple of steps to conclude that result ?
      Im trying to figure it out but I cant find any help

    • @carultch
      @carultch Рік тому +1

      @@rodger3352 The OP asked how angles d and g are related in the picture at 4:17. There is no specific name for that pair of angles.
      Step 1: we relate angle d to an angle in the same group as angle g. Angle d and angle h are called corresponding angles. All you need to do is translate angle d along the diagonal line, and you see it lines up perfectly with angle h.
      Step 2: notice that angles g and h are arranged such that they add up to a straight angle. This means they are supplementary angles, which implies they add up to 180 degrees. So if we know angle h, then we also know angle g, because g = 180 deg - h.
      Putting together steps 1 and 2, we see that these steps together imply that g = 180 deg - d.
