I love decluttering and organizing videos so I would also like longer versions. Just remember that the go-piles and even the process of letting them go to recycling or donation is what makes it all worth it so please include that as well 🙂 It is also very rewarding to see the decluttered spaces afterwards. You are such a hard worker and I really admire that 👌
Here is a tip for anyone out there to expedite decluttering for someone else. It’s a mashup of Peter Walsh, (organizing guru) The Minimal Mom and my own decades of experience. The first thing to ask the person is: “How do you want to use this space” ( you may be surprised) then work on a rough sketch with them. Example: Garage,if an older person has trouble with breaking down boxes for recycle day,set up a table right outside the house door to the garage with a basket for a knife cutter,string ,tape,trash bags,etc. Then next to that put the recycle bins on a cart and get a trash can on wheels. On the other side of the “house to garage” door,put a shelving unit for extra canned goods,paper goods,etc. For the actual presort without them yet, set up tables and empty all boxes,putting like with like.(tools, painting supplies,gardening,decor,sentimental,etc.)
That way,seeing a lot of one category may help them let go easier and if you need to stop, or even put away,at least the items are already sorted. Then put out tarps with signs that say “keep”, “sell”, “donate”, or “toss”.
Pay a ten year old to help run each item to the correct tarp as directed by the elderly person while you continue with your sorting or organizing things back into place. This process goes three times as fast and the
elderly person feels like they are in control of the procedure and not railroaded.😀

I like the longer videos too. I had to laugh at the title thought though. It said extreme garage declutter... When I saw the garage I thought it looked pretty empty! My garage is literally floor to ceiling, front to back boxes. We moved to a tiny little 2 bedroom duplex from a huge 3 bedroom, 2 sorry condo and all of our storage had to go into the garage. Then my Grama and my mom passed away and all their stuff came here. I'm still working through it all inside, so my garage remains untouched. LoL... Wish you lived here in Oregon! 🤭
oh my goodness that sounds overwhelming! i wish i could help! im so sorry to hear about your mom and grama:( thats a lot to take on all at once, dont feel pressured to sort through everything all at once, when you do decide to get in there let me know, ill be your cheerleader!!

I have tandem garage for two cars so it is important for me to keep the clutter down. I arranged the last six boxes after dumping old stuff two weekends ago and it's been nice to pull into my garage and see the organization I created. Cleaning plus decluttering is hard work with a therapeutic benefit for me.

And you will probably need to do this again after it has spent another year in the garage. After she hasn't touched it, more of the items will lose their sentiment. I went through this when my father died. It took me years to let go but year by year I have parted with at least 90 percent.

I enjoy your hoarding series and other cleaning stuff. The only downside is the music, it gives me headache so I need to turn the volume down. Longer videos is better than shorter. Other than that I love your channel ❤️

@@getitdonewithgabbi Sweetheart, it's not the volume but rather the genre. Music is good to motivate the watcher to tackle their space. So maybe something like channel Leaf like on a tree uses. It is just a kind komment meant well ❤️

I wouldn't have the patience with people that can't make quick decisions on getting rid of stuff or who wouldn't get rid of hardly anything. My time is worth more than that.

I prefer 30 min. videos. I'm just curious why you put the books in bags for them to go through rather than just take boxes in for them to look at. Seems like a waste of time.
oh dang i should have explained that better! i took the boxes inside then everything that went in the bags went to donation, my gma wanted to keep all her boxes lol
