Great video, you can always negotiate in these shops, especially if you buy a couple of items from the same booth. They usually call the booth owner to see what price he/she will take. That is why items in Antique Malls are priced higher. I always negotiate in GW too if the item is high priced. It's always good practice because you never know. Recently I went to a local thrift. I found a vintage jacket with a price tag on it for $45 that I had to have. The volunteer said that's the price she couldn't do anything and I asked her to ask the manager, Manager came out and looked at the tag and said "that's not our tag, how about $5? So always negotiate.
Joanna Nagubadi I wish I had the guts to do that! I am so scared of people always getting annoyed or mad! Good on you though :)
I have to applaud you for getting the things You source up and listed for your audience to bid on. That is what other resellers fail to do. You are a real business lady. Your channel will never stop growing because you complete the circle with your viewers. Your are the Smart Lamp Lady! Much continued success. I have to add, you try your best to be realistic and honest with your subscribers. That comes from your upbringing. It shows! Thanks, Mom and Dad.
I totally agree.
Well done mom & dad!
So many cool and fun things! I wonder if shops realize how annoying loud music is, for shoppers? I hate it when I go somewhere, and it is just blasting. I have left places if it is crowded and music is loud. The combination sets off my anxiety.
Amen, Sistah!
So many Murano ashtrays in the first booth. I grew up with that stuff some sixty plus years ago. My mom and aunt were from Italy. I have spotted so many piecies in your videos. Also, a boyfriend of mine had the larger boho colorful lahma. He paid over $200 when it was new. Sat in my dining room, in the corner. Beautiful piece. I really do enjoy your videos. Thank you for the memories.
At every thrift store I go to, all I hear around me is women calling something "cute"-never any other word, just "cute". It's so refreshing to hear you talk about and describe your finds.
Good choice on the two things you grabbed at the end. I see you doing good with those especially the clowns.❤️
Let us know when they sell please. I will be very surprised if you don't do well with those two items.
It's getting weird without Drew. I do love that antique store's vibes lol. I've noticed the antique store's where I live are confusing desirable antiques and decaying junk.
It is getting weird! Lol
I miss him. 😔
I hope he would have talked her out of some of that stuff, too pricey!!
Peggy Severinsen , where is Drew ??
always buy something that MAKES YOU SMILE! like a fairy lamp! ALWAYS!
Your skin is just luminous and you are so beautiful - had to say it! Great video, expensive items but they are very special! Fingers crossed!
Don't worry! Your followers will not let you down on the eBay sales of the last two items! Knowing that you are worried about it will really get them bidding. And, I love the comment about finding antiques and collectibles "out in the wild!" LOL That is where I like to find them!
I love the gold luster fish. And the colorful stainless steel cups, my grand mother had a set of these when I was a kid. Love it!
I love the llama. Ignore the haters. My sister gave me a stuffed llama, which my grandson adopted. However he was not nearly as colorful as your pet. Love it. Lol
I saw two Pyrex small refrigerator dishes taped together (just like the one for $16 you just picked up) for $6, at a Church Thrift Store. I have to wait for Friday to go back and get them. The store is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. I make it a habit of bringing items to Church Thrift Stores, when I go to shop there. I don't like clowns. Thank you for helping me, I will be keeping the refrigerator dishes. I've been selling items on Marketplace, but mostly Disney Mugs and my crafts.
You didn’t even look at that lighted ceramic Christmas tree! 😱 Probably too high, but I would’ve had to look, just in case! 😁
I was thinking the same thing !
I think she said she has 7 of them
Me too!
Charli Witty I don’t think you can have too many lol
I’m so glad you went back for the bowl, it is fabulous! You were incredibly generous calling that heads cheeks rosy, he looked like a total sot to me 😂🤣😂🤣
Bahaha. Me too!
Barbara Ness That Ceramic Head Is Actor Comedian W.C. Fields Who Had A Bad Case Of Rosacea
That man head with the lid looks like Jimmy Durante. Love the cow creamers and yes, pretty common basic creamers. Thanks for thinking of me xoxo
Lol, I was thinking W.C. Fields.
LOL.. love love the cat and bird teapot.. that to ME is everything.. its the BOMB!! yes I know the that statement dates me..LOL
Who is the artist? Did Jocelyn say? LOL
@@TravelingEmporium 😁💗💗
I adore S.W.A.K. "sealed with a kiss" teapots and other goodies from this artist. I have several of her teapots and her noodle pink poodle salt and pepper shakers. The cat and funky bird designs are my favorites. Good score getting that for sure. I never see it out here in the West in the thrift stores, unless it is in bad shape. You most likely found one of her earlier pieces, because some of her later pieces were not as well painted. Kind of like early Jim Shore is far better painted, than later Jim Shore. You have to watch out for the quality.
This was a lovely trip through the antique store. Thanks for taking us along.
Gotta love Bad Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce background music too...ha ha ha...What! No copyright strikes?! Amazing! Have a great day!
Joce, I have faith in you and your "spidey sense" about those last 2 items. It would be interesting to have a special follow up about those.
YESssss!
I love all the peices! Profit profit profit!!!
New Camera? Image looks very sharp! Lol
See ya tomorrow! Can't wait for the Haul video!!
Love the Doobie Brothers in the background. Yep! One of MY old school favorite groups. Could vintage shop all day to those tunes. 😍
I was diggin' the Jim Croce. :)
Wow. I don’t know if I will ever be able to spend that much money without throwing up!
Fortunately, it’s money we’ve made thrifting. It all goes in and comes out of the same account. I will admit though, it hurt a little. I just know I’ll make it back.
Crazy Lamp Lady I know how hard you work and am learning from you everyday! I just don’t know if I will ever get that good. Thank you for all that you do and all of your valuable education. I’m happy for you and hope that I will get closer to my goals. Thanks for your reply.
Yeah I ended up passing on 2 great pieces at my thrift because the profit wasn't going to be that great, but man they'd look great in my shops! lol. I may go back and get them, lol. Great finds, as always!
Thanks for sharing shopping in an antique store! I have a booth in an antique mall and not everything is overpriced! Appreciate the lessons!
Originally saw you with The Hoover Boys and you caught my eye. New to this channel and completely entertained. Stunning host with great on-screen presents and personality. Add “the thrill of the hunt” to the mix and you having a winning combination. Well done, Jocelyn!
I totally would have grabbed the jar of buttons in the bottom of the cabinet.
I LOVE BUTTONS TOO :)
Pam's Cupboard I know, I collect buttons too.
I think all of us see things we would have grabbed but in the end, that's what makes us and our stores different. ;) Great shopping video.
Now that's a fun teapot 😁.......... and the fountain is awesome 😁
I had a grey bowl with the bubbles that resembled the green one. It was and ash tray. When I got divorced I let my ex have it (kicking myself) It was heavy and just lovely. I also let him have one that had "bubbles" on the outside (I am sure you would have a proper name for them). I just gave him all my mid century stuff because I didn't like it. I was into old stuff, early century. I grew up with the 40s and 50s stuff. Even the 60s and 70s were not my jam. Oh well lol Kids never like what their parents have
So glad you got the Indian horse with the Sheesha work. That is a beautiful piece and vintage . I love it!
Wow, you're just grabbing stuff right & left & from an ANTIQUE mall. Who would have thunk it lol? I guess I'll have to visit the local one here in Council Bluffs IA and at least give them a try. I LOVE spending money to make money LOL!! My favorite pass time, right?? Don't we all love this?? Thx again sweetie.
ALWAYS a good time watching you shop, Jocelyn! You go with your gut and have fun doing it! 🥰
I think the humidor man has rosacea - lol. If items stick with you throughout your entire shopping trip, I think you're right in buying them. I think both of the last two items are fabulous and the clown bowl vase is very unique. Worse case scenario is that you'll learn if these purchases are a mistake, and that's a good thing. You did spend a lot of money, but you also bought at least a couple of things for yourself. I guess I'm really cheap/frugal? because I think I'm the only one who spends less on items for myself than what I'll spend for resale. Thanks for sharing this wonderful antique shop with us.
Loving the colourful animal, lama?, you got!!! That would make my week 😍😍😍😍😍
I thought you said “butt face” while I had my head turned from the video. I had to do a quick whip around to see what you were looking at. . BUD VASE! lol
Every time you say royal doulton the Mary Poppins song pops in my head 😂😂😂
Oh I am so glad you passed on the fish gnome! Cheap plastic slurried with quickcrete! I am miffed, just because it is being sold as a wall thing most likely, you could maybe grab the carem board to bring maybe to a veterans center or children’s hospital! Eye hand coordination is often a challenge for head injury survivors, and carem is great for that. If you could pick just one thing to keep an eye on to help others, I vote for carem.i have seen such things really help children that are in need of catching up in coordination and social skills as well.
I saw how high the alligator is going on eBay, I am glad it is valued. But it’s a pj pal! That’s why it is stuffed with newsprint or whatever, he is supposed to be stuffed with one’s pajamas during the day! The scales are something the child could help in the folding and pinning. It’s not really old, but soft collectibles should be valued just as any other art.
MORE BINS VIDEOS!! I know it is crazy but you will score for much less money . Just be pickier about what you buy and look very close.
Andrew has been bugging to go to the bins, we just end up with so much stuff. And we just bought 11 banana boxes yesterday and the flea and spent $600. Oi.
@@CrazyLampLady ssoo... when do we see "the haul" video?😁😎🤞👏👏🤯
14:26 That did come to a lot, considering the amount of things you bought. You did buy some really nice things, and I especially love the larger bowl with luster center!
Go with your “feels” Jocelyn 🙌🏻
Amen Sister. Let’s jump straight from Halloween to Christmas!
Wow what a haul and sometime you ve just gotta go with your feelings 😀
You have to take chances sometimes....some will work some wont so dont beat yourself up if they dont give you what you want. Its a learning curve and the thing is if something doesnt sell today doesnt mean it wont sell tomorrow. Be brave I think the bowl is gorgeous Im not sure about the clowns but Im like Drew I hate clowns and there are clown lovers out there.
Dunnow, IT kind of killed clowns for me.😉🤷♀️ then again, not everyone read, or watched...
Great job! I bet you end up cleaning up with that cool bowl! Blessings!
11:13 They have his face painted like he drinks a lot of alcohol. Lol
Barbara Ness I thought the same thing, lol.
Barbara Ness That Is Actor Comedian W.C. Fields Who Had A Bad Case Of Rosacea
Mayda Vanessa - Oh my gosh, that’s so right! I was trying to think of who it was but obviously couldn’t remember his name. Thanks for clearing that up. 😁
I was also thinking Jimmy Durante because of the big eyes and tall hat, But Fields had the alcoholic face lol. It could be either or. just a guess
Mayda Vanessa - I think you had it right the first time 😁 I hope you have a wonderful day!🥰
I love your camera your filming with, wow......it is so crystal clear!
Love antique store shopping!
Trust your gut! Your Spidey sense seems to serve you well and all the things you found were beautiful in their own way. Nice job.
Love your videos in the morning! Good to see you!
I love the lamp n the shade♥️♥️♥️♥️
I LOVE the colorful llama you got! That is exactly what I'd buy for myself.
Wow! Lots of goodies
That Head Figurine With The Red Nose Is Actor Comedian W.C. Fields Who Had A Bad Case Of Rosacea
Saw a couple of Kewpie dolls in a case. Nice!
Hi Jocelyn. You've got a big heart.
You picked up some pretty amazing things.
Aww you finally gave the little orphan clown bowl a home.
(Unclaimed orphan).
It will go to its permanent home, when it gets sold on Ebay..
.... reminds me of the story Corduroy the Bear.
Plus, you made a lot of antique vendors happy today.
P.s. I thought that humidor guy, with the red face, was way cool too.
Ahhh, the pink one is pretty
I absolutely love love the clown ball from Holland. I love clowns an my grandpa was from there. Beautiful piece
Loved tea pot!! From Portugal makes it better!
I absolutely LOVE your antique store videos - such better finds and lots of good information!!
I hope you revisit the last bowl you picked up when it sells - that could be your sleeper hit! I love it.
Wanda Allmond.
Another fun shopping spree!!
Loved the shop! High prices but it's a " I cant help myself shop to shop in!" I would have probably spent more with what i saw to buy.
Sandy from Victoria
Ceramic christmas tree!!!! my heart aches
Do you ever try to make a deal? The clerks can call the vendor and you make an offer. Works for me a lot of the time.
ANY time it's a "commission store" I make an offer. Without fail. And if I can squeeze a hint of how long something's been there...my offer will drop commensurately.😉🤷♀️ it's often the store clerks themselves that give it away...I WATCH (carefully) where in the book they have to thumb to to find the information to make that call, then my offer will(mentally) adjust. And I'll wander away, just browse, let the clerk come hunting ME for any counter offers.😉🥳 often just enough of a hassle that they'll urge the seller to "just take it!" Especially if the tag is already dingy from being there for a while, and/or being handled and looked at a few times. You'd be surprised how many people never *think* to make an offer! They see a price they don't agree with and walk away. I've made offers, had them declined, left my name and number, " *when* they change their mind..I can be reached...but the moment that door closes behind me, the standing offer drops by 10%. It's actually funny how often the cashier will call out to me JUST as I'm one foot in and one foot out the door! Not necessarily antiques, but consignment shops. Knowing your products, ALWAYS pays off!🤷♀️😎😁 my daughter, who ALWAYS went with me, learned quickly to drag her feet on the way out of a store. I'd actually be almost in the vehicle sometimes, and the clerk would grab her ear, vocally, "can you still catch your mom/big sister..?" I got mistaken for her sister a LOT! Being a shrimp helps. ONCE she hit 18, the novelty wore off for her. Up until then, we both used to split our sides! Especially considering she was my YOUNGEST! IT would have been more understandable with my eldest( had her while I was still in my teens) but my youngest, was well out of them, by a decent margin when she made her debut.
So much fun shopping with you .
You found the coffeepot that matches the cups and saucers I found in Belgium a while agoo. The cups had the geisha face in the bottem. It was decorated exactly the same as the coffee pot!
April Anonymous was looking for my pictures of them but it seems I errased them after selling the cups saucers. I found 6 of them.
Did I see carnival glass lamps???? Oh my!!
I use my pyrex refrigerator dishes instead of plastic
Me too love mine. Red and they were just 1.99 in goodwill
Me too. I don’t even mind that hand washing required. I use one as a butter dish too.
I don't have a dishwasher so no problem.
Always Trust those "Good Feels"
Treat yourself to the lamp, it is awesome, the shade is awesome.
Put a blacklight to the vase at 2:38...just in case.
Unique finds! Congrats!
My husband finally asked me why was I talking to and yelling at my computer. He said I started 6-8 months ago. I wear headphones and he watches tv in the same room, so I guess I was kinda oblivious. I love everything you bought. Especially the purple ashtray. I may hafta figure out how to operate ebay.
Epic haul both videos!
So much awesomeness, so little time!
There is a guy that made a video of him opening a box with a lil vase in it that he bought from you.
UA-cam: Watch me open what I bought from Crazy Lamp Lady .
He was very pleased and said he was going to give you a great review.
Yeah. He’s trolled me in the past on Instagram. I believe he was simply using my name for views. I’m just pleased he was happy with the packaging.
Love to see you shopping for items that are usually a better quality than what you find at Goodwill or especially the Bins. I like to watch and admire your knowledge when talking about these better pieces. I know you make quick, easy money on the cheapie knickknacks but I do love to see quality.
11:43 So many pretty things there!😍
I love the clown piece.
Great haul! Love it all!
I have a feeling that at least 1 of those last 2 items is worth well more than you even hope. Good luck!
I love the colorful creature you chose. I would have done the same!
~Am I imagining things, or are you shooting this video with a different camera? Everything is so crystal clear! Maybe I’m going crazy who knows????
I switched from 30fps to 60. I did buy a new camera, though. That footage begins on Wednesday.
@@CrazyLampLady looking forward to it! As with all your postings! Still haven't made it through your entire library yet...working on it, ever too slowly! Each is such a gem, I still have to go back over and review as some comments come up and I think: "I don't remember that..."
Antique mall sales are the best! Vendors are really motivated to move quality stuff that have been sitting all year. Such great deals!
Did you get a new camera? The picture is different. Crystal clear. Love your videos!!
Come on if you are your own fun sponge 🧽 then we are all out of a job🤪🤪🤪♥️♥️
Spend money to make money! My husband always says that and it works!
Mine *used to* especially with ponies. Until he saw how much time I invested in them too. Then he got cranky. I think probably jealous. He *loved* the cheques, just hated my time required. My standard formula, only altered upwards, never down; take the price I paid, double it and add a zero, the moment they walk in *my* barn. It was surprising just how many walked in and right back out in less than a long weekend. Those he loved. Ones that I spent 6 months on? He sulked. Didn't matter that those were SUPER profitable, And paid off in more ways than one, they were the ones that sold out of country, won HUGE and built reputation.😉💗💗 he just couldn't grasp the concept that living beings aren't like cars. You CAN'T just run down a checklist. Those living beings are being trusted to not only do a particular job(and look perfectly pretty while doing it) they're also chauffeuring a child around while they're at it, not *just* safely. Hopefully making the child look like they're doing a stupendously skilled job too! That peace of mind, knowing that Jenny, or Johnny(as the case may be) is going to walk into that ring, and come back out grinning, but safely and happily, is worth more to most parents than anything that can be found. And *that* trustworthy decency can't be trained in, no matter how skilled any professional may be. It must be searched for and grabbed when found. Hubby could NOT grasp that. Which is a large part of the reason he became EX hubby #2. If I couldn't honestly put my name on a show pony, I wasn't taking it on, no matter how cheap or pretty. If I WAS putting my name on it, I wasn't selling it to the first person who showed up, with *some money* in hand.
He felt any money, fast, was better than waiting.
Until a couple from Barbados flew in specifically for one particular pony. THEN he backed out of the "show pony" business very quickly when seeing the price comparison between what he *would have* accepted, versus what the US$ cash price was given. (Then factor in the exchange rate to Canadian funds)
And that particular sales discussion had been in the works for along while, even at the time he was trying so hard to convince me to "just take it!(the lowball offer about 1/20th)" He truly hadn't believed that a smallish 4 legged "cute" beast *could* bring a price tag amounting to 7 figures(converted to Canadian$$). 🤷♀️ as I told him then: "you need to know 2 things: your product, and your market. Miss either one, you'll lose money."
After that near miss, he stayed right away. Never showed an interest again until the divorce. Then wanted to see professional appraisals on the ponies, not receipts for what I'd paid for them.
I refused, it was MY TIME and KNOWLEDGE that altered the value from the lower to the higher. Since he wasn't putting anything into that alteration, he wasn't going to profit from it either. Didn't tell him I had 2 sold but put the sales on hold until the paperwork between *our lawyers* was signed and filed.)
Thankfully he didn't have a lawyer that could successfully argue the point.🤷♀️😏
I totally think you need merch that says " I won't lie" or " this is everything" 😁
And "yes, please!"
@@kirstenrissling879 I can't believe I forgot that one. I actually find myself saying it all the time now too lol
Omg I would’ve bought those cat salt and pepper shakers 💕
You are funny. Going to hide it from Drew.....although alot of the things are pricey... I give you thumbs up for being a dare devil. You are right it takes $$$ to make $$$ I love your hair styles. I love seeing you shop the goodwill. That's more realistic for me. I feel like I am shopping with you.
I love watching your videos! My husband calls it my thrift porn! 😂
Lol..thirft porn..gonna steal that saying if you don't mind! My hubby will love it!
Donna D Go for it! I thought it was hilarious.
You say that like it's a *bad thing*😉🥳😁🤷♀️💞💞💗
Love that shallow orange, multicolour bowl!
On a final note please update us when those two pieces sell. We will be waiting on pins and needles til we find out
Clowns is the money maker.
It was 65% discount on those fishes. It said on the paper. 6:50
Thank you for the awesome video!!!
Love that shop love your hair very pretty !
The man looked like he had Rosacea! The humidor.
Karren Webb haha that’s what I was thinking!
1:16 So proud!
I wonder how much the mini grandpa clock was.
