In NCT-U's "The 7th Sense," what you are seeing, as part of NCT's dream concept, is supposed to be the use of the 7th sense. Humans have 5 physical senses -- sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell. The 6th sense would be the ability to perceive or sense something that isn't there, like, for example, in the movie "The Sixth Sense" where the boy could sense ghosts. So, in this MV, SM Entertainment used the "7th sense" to describe where NCT's dream state comes from. The 7th sense transcends the physical world and it deals with the dream realm. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics, you will see how they are all talking about dreaming, so each of the scenes within the MV is a different part of the dream or each of their individual dreams. (It's really worth looking up the lyrics to help understand NCT's concept and this song better.)
Yep, "The 7th Sense" came out April 4, 2016, and it is NCT-U's debut. As you saw, in this song and MV, there are 5 members who debuted as the first installment of NCT-U -- Taeyong, Mark, Ten, Jaehyun and Doyoung. (The same members as in NCT-U's "Baggy Jeans" song and MV.) This was a really important MV because it was the public's first introduction to NCT and it was NCT's first debut out of all of their sub-units.
Ten is the one in red in the room with the plants -- he is NCT's Thai member and he is also a member of WayV, NCT's Chinese sub-unit -- he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and a sub-rapper. Mark is the main rapper in the pink tiled room, he is also known for his dancing -- he is Korean-Canadian. Taeyong is the blond who is the leader of all of NCT -- he is a main rapper and main dancer. And Jaehyun -- the one you see with the blue and green lights highlighting him -- and Doyoung -- the one with the orange hair -- are two of NCT's main vocalists.
Elements of this MV are also now thought to be connected to Taeyong's, Ten's and Mark's SuperM debut teaser videos. A lot of their scenes in "The 7th Sense" MV are very similar to the setting of each of their SuperM teasers.
Fun fact: About 3 months after NCT-U debuted, in July 2016, Taeyong, Mark and Jaehyun debuted again as original members of NCT-127 with the song "Fire Truck" -- along with new members Taeil, Yuta, WinWin and Haechan.
And then about a month later, in August 2016, Mark debuted yet again, for the third time, as part of NCT-Dream -- the only NCT member to debut in all 3 original groups -- along with Haechan, and new members Jeno, Jaemin, RenJun, Chenle and Jisung. With their song "Chewing Gum." And yes, Mark was 16/17 during all of these debuts, and yet he radiates a completely different energy with each group. His versatility and ability to take on any concept or style is one of the reasons why SM has chosen him to be involved in so many different projects from day one.
THE most legendary debut of all time
Yay! The world's very first introduction to NCT. They set the expectation and the standard and also the overall concept for NCT with this song (concept being to connect with each other and the audience via their dreams or collective unconscious, which is the 7th Sense they refer to)
I remember it so clearly. The moment I saw the Performance video (I saw that first) I was a fan and have never regretted it for a moment.
All five of these boys have grown so much as well, becoming such accomplished artists both in their group and solo. Mark hasn't had his official solo debut yet (the other 4 have) but his solo songs are wonderful and his solo debut album is scheduled to come out in Feb of next year.
I watched them perform this again last year as part of their NCT Nation full group concerts and they have only gotten better with time.
PS. As time goes on you will see how NCT U rotates through all members. Depending on the song, their might be anything from 2 members performing a song all the way up to the 20+ full group performing together. It's part of what makes NCT U so exciting.
This is the OG unit of NCT, fondly called "Chilgams" by their Korean fans. All of these members have solo stuff and 4 of them (Taeyong, TEN, Doyoung and Jaehyun) have already released their solo albums. Mark will be releasing his early next year. It's great because each of them have very distinct vibe.

I will provide some information:
1. This unit was NCT's first unit to be introduced, so this is NCT's debut song
2. The 7th sense unit, just made a comeback yesterday with an annual album entitled baggy jeans (I'm waiting for the reaction😂)
3. NCT U, is now a non-permanent unit where the selection of members is based on the song so the number of members is different for each song
4. All members in this unit have debuted solo, except Mark, because he is active in 2 units, that's why he hasn't found the right time to debut solo but Mark has released several songs several times
5. all members in this unit are members of nct 127 except ten, ten is in wayv
6. Actually, Haechan might also join this unit, because he also participated in the recording, it's just that he wasn't of legal age at that time, so he ended up not participating.
7. There are 3 members of this group who are also members of SuperM (Taeyong, Ten, and Mark)

NCT U is a rotational unit, they put different members together depends on the mood of the song they're gonna release, so you can see songs with only 2 members, 7 members, 3 members and so on . And you can see members from NCT 127, NCT DREAM and WAYV (The chinese unit) together in NCT U as here can be any member of any fixed unit.

Just found your channel, and I've subscribed for more. I'll have to go check out some of your other NCT reactions. NCT 127 is my personal favorite subunit, but NCT U does make some of the best songs, imo.

Lolol. No, we are actually back in our normal setting right now. This was recorded last Monday when we were out visiting a town in Colombia called Salento.
I kind of missed our usual background, but on the other hand, this one had some natural lightening which is something we lack in our usual recording space (aka our bedroom haha).
