It wasnt all about having a holiday whilst we were in QLD. Not only did we get to have a look around at the operation inhouse at Superior Engineering, once at the Winter Social Wheel, Mick took some time to have a chat with Phil about SSM kits. We had gotten a sneak peek at the 79 Series at Cliffy this year & Mick was kind enough to let us borrow it throughout the weekend to get a feel out on the tracks.
A SSM Superior Engineering Kit when fitted pre registration to a 79 Series is similar to checking the upgrade options when at the Toyota dealer. Fitting one of these kits, allows for the extra height, larger tyres, bigger GVM as well as the better handling that comes with upgrading components on the vehicles.
The biggest benefit is as a SSM it doesnt matter what state you move to or registered it in, there is no need to get it re-engineered. SSM kits are available in different makes & models with testing currently underway to approve kits for a wider range of vehicles.
Kits are also available post reg depending on your state laws. This however is state based when applied to post registration vehicles. You may need to get the vehicle re-engineered when moving states or selling the vehicle interstate.
