Uthirakosamangai, Mangalanatha Swamy temple is a Shiva temple situated near Ramanathapuram in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu. The temple is believed to be built by the Pandya kings, Achutappa Nayak Muthuveerappar and other kings of Ramanathapuram at various times. The temple has been glorified by the hymns of 9th-century saint Manickavasagar and 15th-century saint Arunagirinathar.
The temple is considered sacred along the lines of Ramanathapuram, Sethu Madhava Theertham and Lakshmana Theertham.
The temple has numerous shrines, with those of Mangalanathar, Mangalambigai and Natarajar being the most prominent. The temple houses a 6 ft (1.8 m) tall ancient maragatha Nataraja idol carved out of emerald, being the one of its kind. The temple has six daily rituals at various times from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and six yearly festivals on its calendar. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
உத்தரகோசமங்கை தமிழ்நாடு மாநிலத்தில் இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள ஊர், இங்கு மங்களேசுவரி சமேத மங்களேசுவரர் சிவன் கோவில் எனும் பிரபலமான இந்து கோவில் உள்ளது. ஐந்தரை அடி உயரம் - முழுவதும் விலை மதிப்பிட முடியாத மரகதத் திருமேனி. நடராசர் ஆண்டு முழுவதும் சந்தனக் காப்பில் காட்சியளிக்கிறார்.
இவ்வூர்க் கோயிலிலுள்ள சிவபெருமானைத் திருவாசகம் 38 இடங்களில் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது. தேவாரப் பாடல்கள் இதனைப் பாடவில்லை.
இக்கோயிலின் தலமரம் இலந்தை. ‘இலவந்திகை’ என்னும் சொல்லே மருவி ‘இலந்தை’ எனக் கருதுகின்றனர். இதனால் சங்ககால ‘இலவந்திகைப்பள்ளி’ இக்கால உத்தரகோசமங்கை எனக் கருதுகின்றனர்.
