Next time, if you want to get deeper into Negril, head to the Red Ground section (any cab will take you there). The Red Dragon serves amazing jerk pork at noonish every day. They sell out every day, so get there early. Red Stripes are $300 J. Just down the road is Collette’s Bar. Collette is the most warm, welcoming person we’ve ever met in Negril…our 19th trip will be this February. Best coffee is from Thunder,a Negril legend. Many restaurants serve it. Glad you enjoyed Negril!
@whitepinewoods9029 thank you so much for all the great advice! We will for sure check those places out! Glad you loved our country. If I could have recommended one of MY most favourite in West End ..Just one, it would be "Catch A Falling Star". Just one of many. Peace.

Hey you guys! I started going to negril in 85 or 86 … I’ve spent about 18 total weeks there and you guys did an amazing job describing the area 👍 can you imagine going to ricks in the afternoon and there’s almost nobody there … that’s when you would’ve loved it … there west end is a great area and I’ll be sure and check out the places you guys went to… I’m subscribed to you now !! Thx and keep going !! 👍😊
Thank you @UnclePG! We appreciate your support. Believe it or not we got to Rick’s around 3:30pm and it was already pretty happening! Two giant tour buses, a line of people outside and the music was thumping. For those that want that vibe they will love the party for everyone else there are so many amazing local choices.
When I saw your title x out rick's cafe and Margarittaville I just had to comment. Hallelujah to this. Add Dunn's river falls to the list. The Island has numerous water falls but continue to market this one as though it is the only one.
If you love to party you would love Ricks! For us the vibe wasn’t right but that doesn’t mean for others it isn’t! Glad you had a great time in Jamaica!
Stayed at the rockhouse amazing to say the least. Also did the skylark for 7 mile beach. I walked down the beach alittle ways to the singing chef where I got the best lobster & smoked a fatty and soaked it all in. FYI it's not an ocean it's the Caribbean Sea
I travel to Negril several times a yr. I agree no Ricks or Margravitaville. I live LtU . Xtabi is a great place to hang or stay. Check out Canoe Bar and Quality Seafood. I love having dinner up the lane at SeaStar . Ride out to Zimbali’s and stay the night .
@mgsmelly we went in late July. Temperature was great but you will see more rain during late July and August. You will love Negril we are stoked to hear you are going!

Next time visiting Jamaica, try and head over to the South Coast St Elisabeth to Treasure Beach, a Pelican bar out in the ocean, Jacke's Hotel, and of course my place Beach Rock Villa on a private beach. 7 Mile is my favourite beach 😍 And Dragon Stout is my favourite beverage, I highly recommend the Dragon Spit fire it’s a little stronger than the original but tastes a lot smother and sweeter👌🏾

Hi @prosschan! We stayed at The Cliffs, on the west end of Negril. It's a great little boutique hotel, very chill, not on a beach but you do have ocean access via cliff side ladders. Great ocean views, lounges set on the cliffs, and great food. We definitely recommend it! - Jenn
I'm planning my 5 month trip to Negril with my gf, who's been going thete 11 yrs now..I appreciate some extra advice....however, I just need to let you know, it's not the ocean...it's the SEA...😅😅...thank you
Great question, unfortunately we didn’t look into the price. We spent so much time walking around and filming we ended up grabbing food and a drink (which were great) and then heading to our next stop. If you want we can try to find that info for you.
I have been looking at a lot of things to do in Jamaica lately. And there are SO MANY tours that include Ricks. That alone tells me it's just a massive, crowded tourist trap. The kind of place I want to avoid.
Shhhhhhh! Stop telling everybody bout the real good spots. Just kidding. My two favorite places. First time I entered both I immediately thought PARADISE! Negril is such a chill place
I personally wasn't fond of Ricks at all. It's worth a quick look see but, there are SO many other nice places up there that are far nicer. Ricks was so touristy and frankly, I thought it was awful. Over crowded, jam packed with tourists, expensive. It's a pretty view but, nearly every other place up on those cliffs that are super gorgeous. Better drinks at other places too! Grab a dinner at Catcha!
If you want a cab and you will get cars pull up and ask you if you want a ride make sure they have a red number plate these are proper taxi cabs green plates are if your vechile is used for any kind of business and white plates are cars registered to general peoples cars
That's true, red plate is registered taxi, but you did the right thing asking hotel or bar to call for you. It's more expensive, but safer than taking random taxi that stop to pick up other passengers. The only thing I would say to add to your advice is to determine the price with the driver ahead of time. This avoids misunderstandings.
Thanks, friends! My wife and i are heading to Negril end of March from Alberta
Awesome! Is this your first time going there @duncanpage1556?
