You are SUCH a class act, Kristine! Sorry this was such a tough tournament for you, but your ability to find the joy and celebration in even tough circumstances is a great lesson!
It’s so nice too see a true sportsman like you Kristine. Your truly happy for other people and that’s so rare these days of the me,me,me mentality. Your positive energy will come back to you. Your the friend everybody needs, always truly happy for others. Looking forward to you winning a bunch of tournaments and the best video. Thank you for being so positive you are a true blessing in this world.
Hello, fellow UA-camr here, Ok, if you have anything higher than a GoPro 8, your GoPros probably flaking out due to the heat, and there's nothing much you can do about that. Also, I'm not sure if you're using a big external pattern that's like connected to your fist finder, but try a small external battery that people normally use for their phone. You can then just use a zip tie to hold the small external battery and use a short cord that goes directly to your GoPro. These will last you about 6 hours on one charge for recording. Also, instead of using the voice control to record AKA GoPro stop recording. Just buy the GoPro remote control that you can just hit a button on your wrist to start and stop recording.
USB cable, the only thing that travels on the USB power cable is power. Electronics do do ridiculous things when they aren't getting the correct amount of power. Your problems might be attributed to the cable but to be sure try running it with a short cable again and see if the problem persists. If this becomes clear it's the cable then you'll want to get a heavier gauged wire USB cable. Not sure how to figure that out since USB cables are notorious for not listing any specifications. However thicker gauged wire will carry more current and will have less voltage drop. Love your work and appreciate what you do for the sport, keep up the good work.
I have seen this happen on other videos and what they have done to help prevent this is to place the head of the measuring board in their landing net. It seems like when the fish flops, it does so going towards the head, so this gives a chance to have it flop into the net instead of out of the kayak. Have you tried the Niko hellgrammite as a bait? Works really well on smallmouth.
i have been having flie issues with my gopros as well. i hard reset the camera and tried a different memory card (actually 3 different SD cards). word out there is some gopro are picky, or will become picky, about what SD you use.
When you started, you said the Outback wasn’t the ideal river kayak. I wondered why you thought that and your thoughts after fishing it a couple of days. Thanks
Another angler fussing about GoPro's. It's heat. I run GP's on all types of poles and cables on my kayak. They all are on their circuit with 3 AMP fuses to make sure they are protected. It doesn't matter. It's the camera. I have the same issues. @Greg Blanchard fusses about it and many others. GoPro isn't listening. I'm budgeting to replace 3 cameras. Not upgrade. Replace with another brand.
I also run direct power. Looks like you already did the SD card swap and the new cables. Are you using the same battery connection? I know you are using a different yak so is the power supply different? The USB I’m referring to, I have used hero 4/8/9/10 they all needed a different power. 4 (1.0), 8/9 (2.0) 10/11 (3.0). No battery installed in the camera. Also I run 12’ cable to my rear camera hero 10 no issue.
That means the power rating of the USB port you plug the GoPro into. Normally if you look where you plug it into you will see something like 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. I noticed the newer the model of GoPro the more power they need. Also if you have the hero 8 I have to connect (preview) to the camera when on the GoPro app to format/ delete the SD card. That was an issue for me and I remember that error message you got.
Been following a few yrs now, so Awesome! Congrats! Now what you said about Tourneys, how we have seasons that just don't seem to go our way, I think we could apply to life as a whole. Being able to let go, focus on the next and be hopeful for the future...soo important! Good luck girl, thank you for the inspiration!
I been following you for long time, you're a good sport and a nice person and excellent fishing woman. I hope you consider if you havent already is to live for Christ Jesus and give him you're heart. Anyways good video, and its crazy just like in life things go bad back to back to back and same with good things, its almost like we mentally call it into play idk this mystery lol. Good news is your blessed with almost 100k subs ! wow nice work. Also Kristine, at 4:19 what animal was that swimming toward the guys kayak ? or was that him making a random downstream cast with a buzzbait that wouldnt ever catch a bass like that lol, it was wierd it was like ur go pro died for a few seconds I see the freeze, then the swimming animal is gone ?
Kristine, I found you on you-tube and have been following you for about a year. I think you are just a sweetheart and enjoy your videos a lot. I wish these kind of tournaments were going on when I was younger I’m 72. When will the new schedule come out for next season? Looking forward to watching your videos coming up from Wisconsin. Mike in Gentry Arkansas. 🎣❤
Tough week but you’ll be back on top! I personally use Anker or Cable Matters cables for just about everything. May want to make sure your battery isn’t under 12v. Maybe time for a new SD card too. Formatting the card before each use may help too. If your GPS is on, turn it off on your GoPro. May want to disable the front screen too. Anything that the GoPro has to process that may be unnecessary for you helps.
@@kristinefischer2289 You’re welcome! Do you use SanDisk Extreme Pro SD cards? I know ThatBassFishingDude (Brandon) does and he doesn’t have an issue with his GoPro. I started using them and I didn’t have corrupted issues anymore. I just have overheating issues now with this extreme Texas heat lol
Fishing rapid water, Kris, less line instead of (longer line out), casts. Might work just as well. Guess is, is that small mouth and even larger small mouth will take your baits and lures closer to your kayak. As well as far away from it. That's my hunch. Learning not to throw longer casts, and fishing the water nearer to your kayak better. That's my take, looking at it from a 'moving water' fishing perspective. I know that long casts are seductive. But line control and bait control improves, the closer that one fishes. Not the opposite. It's actually what's underneath the water surface, which is important (as opposed to bombing casts into blue yonder, based on ideas about getting distance of throw to some objective, that one can perceive from eye sight above water). The fish live under water, which I guess might seem obvious. However, as anglers and as visually oriented human beings. We tend to forget that fish live under water. And we ourselves live above water (and carry with us all of the incorrect biases as a result). Into everything we try to do in our angling. We cast to what we can see, instead of what we should know.
Your a classy lady, and a Damn great Angler. Tough break on this tournament. Congratulations to Wess for cutting a check. Can’t wait to see your next video! Oh congratulations on 100k subscribers
Hi Kristine, I think you’re a great ambassador for kayak fishing and I think you helped spark the kayak fishing sport! You caught a lot of fish on video and off camera probably more. You took how you placed like a champ and showed how excited you are to see your friends succeed! A true Pro!
You are doing great. Some times good and sometimes bad. However, every single time you go fishing, you are living and doing WHAT YOU WANT! You have no idea how many people go through life not loving what they do. You are one of the most blessed woman in the world. Hang in there.
You're really missing the holes in the slack water in the deeper currents. I'd get a local to prefish with me on a river like this if you aren't that familiar with river patterns. Also, you're sitting water lever, so keeping that rod rip lower will help your hook setting power, I've said the previous before. Seems you weren't dialed in having a co-fisherman with you as well. Sorry for the negatives, just trying to help. Still enjoyed the video!
And that's what makes you, Kristine, a PROFESIONAL ANGLER! You go girl, enjoy your fishing in Wisconsin.
Thanks lady!!!
You’re a fishing machine, hard worker and enthusiastic competitor, that’s why I follow your channel.

Technology evades me .... Sorry no help - you Rock KF !!! Being happy and thrilled for others is good medicine.... Fish on...
That’s the important part!!
You are fishing perfectly. You are perfect 👍🎣🐟🐟🐟🐟
Thanks for being the ultimate hype gal! Had the best time with you on this tournament. Let's do it again! Minus the trainwreck parts. Big HUGS SIS!!!!

Thanks so much for that response- very helpful. I’m going to try a few different things!
It’s probably the battery not pushing enough power. Or a bad SD card.
I tried swapping SDs :(
Respect - getting ready to get my first Kayak bc of U - From VA your the best !!!🦈🐟
Aww thanks for sharing! Enjoy!!

This is exactly what I should have done, hindsight! Yes I have they work great!
The new river is tough. It's clear and it gets alot of pressure fishing and recreational.
I hear the bigs eat at night 👀

Your sportsmanship is honorable!! Best of luck on your next tournament!!

I may have changed my mind.. it handles really well, better than I expected! I initially thought it needed steeper chines
@@kristinefischer2289 it does tend to take some water over the bow. I didn’t see too much of that in your video. You’re much lighter than I am!
After following you ,you have had a rough tournament year with little mistakes that have cost you ! Better luck next tournament!

Using a Drag anchor has been a major improvement for me in a kayak. Slows you down enough to fish and keeps you straight

I really wanna go back there during the pre spawn. That place was so unique. Enjoyed the recap. Congrats to Wes on that 20!
I am work at Walmart I don't have and Kayak or abd boat I was just wronder if you could be my fishing Is partner that fishes in Tournaments?
Amazing perspective. Also, top 30 of 100 as a “train wreck” speaks volumes about the expectations you set. *hat tip*
You are almost at 100k subs! Nice video
Attention to detail. So important in life and fishing.
The Hobie Outback looks great on you!
In Tennessee tge smallmouth have to be 18inches too keep.
Keep your head up. What's the name of seat pads you use for for kayak?
She need to check her hooks make sure their not bent or replace the treble hooks
Always pulling for you.
Yep i lost a few fish off my bored like that to 😢.
