I love that you kept in the moment when you almost fell, and when you got your line tangled in the poles behind you.
We all do that, but never see anyone doing that on youtube - so it's motivational in a way.

Kristine you’re doing great! You made to the tournament of CHAMPIONS which in itself is something you should be proud of!! So fishing grass Mats and Lilly pads often I would miss a lot on a blow up. I researched why and yes the bass inhaled your frog but also a mouth full of foliage. People have said, I don’t know but I would pause 5-6 seconds and then set the hook. Made a difference for me… and is not a criticism. Remember how hard you worked to get where you are!

The hardest thing for me and frog fishing is having the patience to let them take it for several seconds, them set the hook. I have missed so many fish trying to set the hook too fast. Something I have to work on. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! You are truly blessed..

What a bite!!! Not gonna critique you as I am nobody but in that scenario I would put that freaking frog away and replace with a weightless sluggo. Single hook hookup ratio goes way up.....and big fish love it..
    Congrats on your success.

Thanks for sharing you feelings about success and failure you are truely a wonderful spokesperson for the sport. I was getting anxious the entire video . I too noticed some things already mentioned. The thing that really stood out was you cadt right handed and then really move the tip far left on the retrieve which leaves a slight bow then when you set the hook you come back over your right shoulder which creates a S shape in the line theres now two points that have to straighten out before the line is fully burrying the hooks. Perhaps it was the weather ,you be exahsted ,or just the approach of the yac. I would also suggest going to a 6'8" or 6'6" rod which at first seems counter productive but adds more control when "Rippin' Lips" . I fish frogs all season out of a Bonafide 127 . I use no other bait till fall Perch . The shorter rod will also help you when netting a bigger fish , the tip will be more controllable and you wont find yourself having to lean back and feeling awkward. I fish 4-6 days a week 8-12 hrs. a day with only frogs and have found a smaller profile 2" vs 2&1/2 frog will secure more and deeper hooksets. All in all some days are just going to have a person's mind being their own worst enemy. You are a great fisherwoman and I watch and enjoy all your videos decause you are humble and share your feelings that the majority of people have when fishing. I would never pretend to be better than you or anyone else I just love Froggin' and taking that one last cast. Take care of you and your Mental Health first and foremost. Thanks........ AKA. I noticed you don't have a follow up rod ready with plastic on it. For me anytime I get a topwater blow up that misses I'll throw the plastic in. I get about a third to take the different follow up bait. It adds to my stringer anytime I'm using topwater.

Congratulations on another top 10 for AOY, now to the meat and potato, Kristen one recommendation I would give you when frog fishing is slow down on the Hooksett you want to feel the bass first so you're not setting the hook on a slack line that's your biggest no no when frog fishing., lady you did great learn from it and move forward with meaning great video 👍

Those Kaira frogs are sick but have terrible hookups on cheese mats. They work great in duck weed and submerged grass that gross vertical because the fish faces the same way when attacking. That cheese is like a blanket, so you should throw a larger frog knowing the fish can't see the size when on the cheese only(keep the K in hand too for sparce cover). Weight the crap out of the K frog. Lastly, punch follow up with similar plastic.

I fish Illinois retention ponds all summer long and I have to use alot of frog because there’s so many weeds. It’s so much fun, but they’re hard to hook on a frog. Sometimes I take a pliers and try to open the hooks a little more. I think it helps but you get weeds then so darn if you do darned if you don’t.

On the NE and river small mouth fishing, an expert in the specialism. Jake Villwock an angler on rivers and lakes in PA and NY State shores lake Erie, talked about his impression of seasonal bass behavior. An interesting interview he did in ep 534 of Wet Fly Swing. And something that anglers there tried to make called a Ned Fly? A fly to imitate a Ned.

All you can do try your best, 16th out of that many people is still really good! I'm not a tournament angler, I consider myself a pretty decent angler but I prefer to find hard to get places & chase big bites on swimbaits. So I would probably get my ass kicked if I did enter any...? I know how it is losing big fish. I lost 2 huge girls in past month an 8+ & another 9-10 pounder that I got a really good look at. Those still sting! Just keep fishing & getting on water as much as possible & most importantly enjoy ourselves & stay positive. We all have ups & downs & stuck somewhere in-between as well. I went from best summer I've ever had beating my PB largmouth 4 times with newest an 11.4 Then this fall I've been getting my ass kicked!!! Really really bad

Hey Kristine, not sure what type of frog you were using but have you tried the Scum Frog Launch Frog ? When I switched to that one my hookup ratio increased tremendously compared to the other frogs. Maybe it's the softer flexibility of the Launch Frog's back that allows better hookups than frogs with the harder plastic backs that get in the way of the hooks....plus I always bend the two hooks upward just a little. That's the only frog I will use now. We love your videos. We are big fans & we love your channel. Keep up the great work & God Bless !

You are a way better fisherman than me, but watching the video, I see that you have a bow in your line on most of the missed frog bites. Your boat is going forward and your rod is point back just a bit, creating a bow. Also, with your rod tip so low, i noticed that several missed bites, you had a lot of line pulling through water. Not being critical, I love your videos and cheer for you at every tournament. Just a little something I noticed. I was doing it with a buzzbait a few years ago.
