Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in Washington, D.C., and the Kinder Building at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston - buildings in which Holl hopes to express "the joy from the creative act."

    Creatively brilliant 👏
The angles, radiance of light and flowing movement of curvature combinations. Outstandingly unique.

I like the b/w picture of Steven sitting in the old high line. I was there day one of the project across the street from the gas station.

Very impressive but I'll always be a huge fan of Art Deco.

He’s currently in the design/ build stage of a structure in Hudson that I’m super excited to see. The client is extraordinary and I’m sure that it will be a gem for the generations

I love his painting hut the best.i it's humble and small but I think it's a great space in nature to let big Ideas flow. I'm a Water color guy but haven't been able to do it anymore. It's such a cozy place in the woods.

I see the Reach all the time at the JFK Center. Never thought it was significant.

I'm more of a Old Log Cabin or a brick and stone work guy but I think he's wonderful and I love his creative work. It's not easy to get things from mind to blue prints to reality. Woundful structures and a great guy.😁

He was supposed to design a building at Cornell and I don’t know the full story but something fell through and the contract went to Rem Koolhass. I believe it was Milstein Hall

The best thing I can say about Steven Holl is that he is a brilliant phenomenologist, acutely concerned with the aesthetic experiencing of buildings and environments. Holl goes beyond functional programs to create an architecture that transcends style, while always creating spaces with finely tuned sensory dimensions that we can comprehend and appreciate.

Whether or not you "like" them, you should realize that each and every one of these buildings is yet another bullet wound inflicted on our planet by people who value money and ego above everything else . . . full stop.

"Star-chitect" architecture is garbage. Their designs ignore human scale and human comfort.

I bet architects hate blind people because all their art and creativity is meaningless in their passion is worth nothing.

    • @timmmahhhh

The blind can still experience a space through its acoustics, the warmth of the sun coming in, and such. Architect Charles Moore famously talks about designing a house for a blind client. There is also an architect who lost his sight I believe in his 40s but still practices, educating others and how he experiences the world without sight. I saw a news story on them, I believe he's in the Washington DC area.
