Moving can be stressful (we did all over the country, 6 different times, when our children were younger). But family experiences and memories made it all worthwhile. Hope that it is the same for you.

You truly made this home beautiful. Love your style. Don’t know why you’re moving, but I’m sure it’s definitely for a good reason. Can’t wait to see your new space. I love my ranch home, and have a formal living room. Actually, it’s my favorite room in my house. I sit in there every morning, and have my coffee, and watch decorating you tube videos. That’s how I found you. I just got new windows, and love my picture window, that I’ve upgraded from the diamond grids- very outdated, to squares. What a difference. Got a new roof this year, and have been doing small upgrades, a few every year. Keep us posted on your new adventure. ❤

Jenna, As always, everything is beautiful. I love the addition of that gorgeous color in your bedding. It sounds as if you are sad about the move. I can understand that after you put so much of yourselves into this home. About 15 years ago, we designed and built our dream custom home. We had just finished filling it when two life changers happened. The housing market crashed and I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The value of our home halved. We are a construction contractor so our builder’s we’re all failing due to the market crash and we ended up selling for half of what we had put into the home. I would no longer be able to take care of such a large home. We had to sell or give away a lot of things we loved to move into a smaller home. Don’t just shop your house, shop your neighborhood. We found a 1949 home on a street that the people obviously loved their homes too. Over time and adjustments to our lives, we have ending loving our new smaller place and love our neighbors and small neighborhood. We Christmas choral as a neighborhood and on 4th of July, the local fire station brings their truck and generations who have grown up here, bring their children and dogs for a neighborhood parade and picnic. That’s why I advise to shop your neighborhood as well as the house. We have a wonderful feel of extended family here snuggled into this wonderful new smaller space where everyone knows and watches out for each other. Go back on the weekend and knock on some doors and about the feeling of the neighborhood and pay attention on how they care for their places.

My husband and I lived pay check to pay check the first 4 years of our marriage, believe it or not he got let go from his job soon after we bought this house. Things were scary and tough but I am a firm believer that this home has also brought us so much love and job opportunities we never thought were possible. This house has been the biggest blessing to our family. Whatever you are doing, keep going. ❤️
