Is there a way to turn off the affiliate links popping up the whole video? I know I’m being sold to but it’s a little too much
Long time fan... however, i cant be the only one who finds the constant affiliate link pop ups on the recent videos. Is there a way to turn that off or mute them?
I just tap on the first one that comes up and hit dismiss and usually I don’t get any more for the video. I’m on phone though.
I agree-they are very frustrating! But yes if you click the three dots and click “dismiss” you won’t get anymore pop ups for the rest of the video.
I liked watching the cute girl time and get ready with me, and I know your job is being an influencer. But if it influenced me to do anything it was to get another job because I’m broke as hell and can’t afford any of this stuff. I love your content but this just felt like a bit much considering how much you talk about sustainability and small business.

I find that Mia Maples is an amazing UA-camr who almost always donates things that she purchases for videos to her subscribers or to those in need. I love when Sierra does her small business haul every holiday season, but yeah, this video with the extravagant haul of free stuff missed the mark for me.

I enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes of this event and I hope you continue to share that aspect of your career. Would have loved to see you end the video with you, Kenzie and Rachel dropping off this huge haul at a women's shelter or a charity that could have distputed it to others. Not trying to give shade at all, just an idea for a future event perhaps.
Why the affiliate links? Not that you are obligated to but it feels strange to have affiliate links on gifted products but no subscriber giveaway to the people who got you to that event

I agree about the overconsumption, but I believe Sierra elected to fly with Alice rather than subject her to a 6 hour car ride. Seemed like that choice was informed by what would be best and easiest for her infant. Totally agree about the materialism though!

I agree-it’s very distracting. Just click the three dots next to the pop up and select dismiss. Once I did that, I didn’t have any more pop ups on the video
Not that you asked but I feel like some content people would like to see would be like “thrifting our Halloween costumes” or like thrifting/gifting on a budget videos. DIY videos, cooking/baking gifts for people. I would lean away from the consumerism stuff as it’s clearly not sitting well with your audience. One if my fav videos you have done in the past few years was the one where you guys thrifted outfits to fit a certain aesthetic.

I love Sierra and so if reading this please know is just about your actions not the person you are! However this seems very tone deaf. Like look at all the expensive shit got for free but you should spend your heard earned money on so I can make more money. I know part of your job is influencing but you should use the sway you have over people to promote the things you claim to vaule. Like the environment and small businesses. As someone who is struggling with medical expenses and feeding myself and my husband the grocery hauls were getting on my nerves. But the absolute slap in the face that is that swag haul and then throwing affiliate links at us for the entire video...just gross. Help your fans, not your bank account. And honestly, we all know Stephen makes enough at his job to more than support your family. Just saying. Trying to decide if I'll give more chances or unsubscribe tonight.
When those panel experts at the event talked about adding affiliate links to your videos, I think they forgot to mention you should consider the audience. What a major mistake. This channel was trying to position itself as SOMEWHAT eco-considerate and not that consumption-oriented. It's only natural this video is getting bad reviews - you cannot have an aware, mindful audience and then shower them with ads. I'm sure other UA-camrs who are strictly consumerism-focused won't get that kind of feedback on their videos but it's because they cater to a different audience. Did you forget who are you talking to? You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
It's also just wild that they thought it was a good idea to post affiliate links for items she got FOR FREE. There's no way she can continue to position herself as environmentally conscious when almost everything she shows of her actual life contradicts that. However, I'm sure she'll take these comments as "hate". They've already deleted several others.

I think it's awesome that you have these opportunities! I know if I was invited I would select all items lol. But I don't like the fact that influencers only get these items free for the sole purpose to influence their viewers to purchase the items. If those companies knew they won't be shown they most likely wouldn't be giving them away.

Wow so yeah. There are hundreds of thousands of American citizens without water and/or HOMES due to the devastating events of Helene and Milton. Read the room. Besides that, even 40 hr a week workers that have been working since they were legally allowed to are living paycheck to paycheck, just glad if we don't overdraft our bank accounts. This event video was so distasteful.

I have followed Sierra for years. I saw her podcast with Skylar and her being ignored at beauty con. I watched that humiliation and I watched Sierra and Skylar bounce back. And I’ve supported her channel throughout. Today I read so much hate come through, because Sierra attended an influencer event that was not a humiliation for her. It was an event that actually felt like an influencer event should feel! Like beauty con should have felt! It was an even where she was pampered and celebrated and was treated like a queen! All of the things we were upset about that didn’t happen at beauty con for Sierra and Skylar. So now why are we so angry about Sierra being treated like a queen!? Once upon a time we wanted this for her! Now we are spewing hate about her being given gifts? I have supported Sierra for years and think it’s amazing to watch her channel and her income grow. I love to see her and her family flourish.

Good gravy comments are hilarious, if those over consumption complainers are so concerned about the environment they shouldn't have cell phones because the mining for cobalt, lithium etc is horrible on the environment and workers. Complainers also shouldn't even be on UA-cam because by watching it they're supporting Google which is a big consumeristic company as well. Be real and don't watch haul videos if it triggers you. Sierra is finally at a level where she gets to enjoy many more influencer perks, so get it and get it all girl 🙌! As much a I love the channel, Sierra did it to her own self getting the complainers, emphasing her vegetarianism, environment this and that etc. but it's easy to show concern when it's convenient. I'm a realist and whatever happens is gonna happen, I'm on this stupid rock for a short amount of time and I'm going to enjoy as much of everything that I want to, when I can. Girls get it! I can’t imagine the work and thousands of hours you’ve put in over the YEARS to get your channels to a point where you are invited to these kinds of events. Post the affiliate links, if your video is the reason someone buys one of these products you definitely deserve to get a little commission for that. You still have a business to run, families to support and feed. You’d be silly to work for free! Sounds like the event was fun and worth it! Enjoy the products and thanks for sharing some of it! I don’t have it in me to be a content creator but I love seeing the cool stuff and behind the scenes of it all!

I know these videos are not for everyone, but I do like to see what’s new and get ideas for the holidays. Sierra is one of the few You Tubers who does not flaunt her money and you can tell she’s not into over consumption. The cocotte is great to present an appetizer, like a baked dip, during parties. I have a set of four and use them for individual baked entrees like individual lasagnas. Le Creuset also has a cookbook just for the mini cocotte!

I work in a field where I get invited to events that would look great on social media - no free stuff per se, but free tickets - and let me tell you it's the best part of the job. I feel so incredibly grateful and spoiled every single time I go - and let me tell you some of my colleagues don't even take advantage of these things. If you get the opportunity to work in a field that gives you opportunities you wouldn't necessarily have access to otherwise absolutely take every single one of them! 🥰

I don't really understand the hate... this is a work event for someone who works in what's basically a sub-category of advertising. Of course it's not the kind of stuff people not in that line of work would buy, nor you have to. The idea with these things, if you're so inclined to, is to maybe get an idea for a product or two you get for yourself or for someone for Christmas. Not any different than walking around a department store, but you get some entertainment and maybe a review out of it which could change your opinion on the product. That's why they get "gifted" stuff. There is no indication in any of these videos that you have to or even should have all of these things
And if you don't like this kind of content that's absolutely fine, and I understand for some people this can cause negative emotions of comparison - but then why click on a video stating in its title it contains a gift bag unboxing and influencer event footage and comment negatively of it like you didn't see the content coming?

I never comment (always read some comments), but just wanted to say how unfair I think the comments for this video are. I think 99% of the time Sierra really puts in the effort to support small businesses and be overall mindful, so now she can't enjoy an event and some gifts? She's probably more mindful of this than the vast majority of us, and we certainly would enjoy a nice gift bag every now and then if the situations were reversed. It would be different if this was a recurring behaviour, but it's really not. Think a little before you post such negative things.

SIERRA IS NOT MAKING PROFIT OUT OF THE PRODUCTS SHE WAS GIFTED AT THE EVENT: she is not diectly selling the product she got at the event, what she is puting affialliate links for is for people that saw her showing the products and want them too, and as far as i know thats common influencer stuff that everyone does
People out here hating on Sierra when the problem is capitalism itself. This is her job, yes she has more than most but she’s not the mega-rich, the companies gifting the products are. In the hopes they will accumulate exponentially more wealth. Complaining about a single influencer doesn’t solve the wealth gap issue- deconstructing the society we live in is a start though, and that happens by building community, not tearing others down 💕💕
But isn’t the first way to dismantling capitalism to call out the people who directly support/feed into it?

Sierra, I know you are not a food content creator but I am from Brazil and we have a delicious dessert called "brigadeiro" (sometimes Americans think it's too sweet, but it doesn't have to be) and seeing you in this beautiful sweater with your beautiful curls and when you got this mini pan from Le Creuset I immediately thought "Oh my god, perfect for one portion of brigadeiro" hahaha I think it is too small if you're gonna do it for more people besides you (I think Grace would love, because brigadeiro is a dessert that you make with condensed milk and cocoa powder and then you roll it into balls and cover them with sprinkles, kids normally like this part) but if it was me, I would prepare brigadeiro in a bigger pan and put a little in this mini one just for myself hahaha Maybe you'll like it! you are in the perfect vibe for brigadeiro!
