One of my fave people to watch but anyone else feel like there's so much overconsumption everywhere on UA-cam especially around the Holidays? Wild to watch sometimes.
Yes! Love Sierra. But its always influencers who make above average income getting tons of stuff for free to influence us to spend the little fun money we have
I find that Mia Maples is an amazing UA-camr who almost always donates things that she purchases for videos to her subscribers or to those in need. I love when Sierra does her small business haul every holiday season, but yeah, this video with the extravagant haul of free stuff missed the mark for me.
Love your content! ❤ Finding the little ad link boxes for clothes and makeup that keep popping up on the screen very annoying. Anyone know if I can turn this feature off somewhere? I pay for YT premium to avoid ads 🙄
I agree-it’s very distracting. Just click the three dots next to the pop up and select dismiss. Once I did that, I didn’t have any more pop ups on the video
Why the affiliate links? Not that you are obligated to but it feels strange to have affiliate links on gifted products but no subscriber giveaway to the people who got you to that event
Not that you asked but I feel like some content people would like to see would be like “thrifting our Halloween costumes” or like thrifting/gifting on a budget videos. DIY videos, cooking/baking gifts for people. I would lean away from the consumerism stuff as it’s clearly not sitting well with your audience. One if my fav videos you have done in the past few years was the one where you guys thrifted outfits to fit a certain aesthetic.
I’m happy y’all got to go but dang it UA-cam…. Shower regular subscribers with gifts or even micro UA-camrs 10k or less. The huge channels can afford these gifts outright without batting an eye.
Especially when the first item was $300. 300??? That’s usually my budget for my WHOLE family for Christmas gifts. I understand the smaller items but that’s borderline designer pricing.
I enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes of this event and I hope you continue to share that aspect of your career. Would have loved to see you end the video with you, Kenzie and Rachel dropping off this huge haul at a women's shelter or a charity that could have distputed it to others. Not trying to give shade at all, just an idea for a future event perhaps.
Do you get a holiday bonus at your job? If so then you better donate all of it to charity!! Don’t use any of it for Thanksgiving or Christmas gifts because how dare you enjoy perks of your hard work 🙄
@melissaferguson7630 Please consider for a moment that there may be people in the comments who are struggling to make ends meet and a comment like this isn't intended to shame anyone, but rather to highlight the abundance that's shared with influencers while many people are struggling in a difficult economic time. I feel like it's fairly common practice to make donations around the holidays (if someone celebrates) and I'm grateful to be in a position to do that. My comment was only to say that this could be an opportunity to share with those who don't have the same access to these extremely generous events. Sierra has been generous in the past with supporting others in need, so as I said, this was not intended to fault her for not doing that on this occasion. As many others in the comments have noted, this was a seemingly large haul during a time when many others are struggling to meet their basic needs. 🙄
I have questions for the negative comments: 1) have you never watched a UA-cam video before or celebrity anything? Swag bags are a huge part of any high end event or thank you bags for normal events or now that I’m thinking about it free gift with purchase. 2) if she wouldn’t have put the links in everyone would screaming at her that she didn’t tell them the price or where to find them. Like y’all don’t have google or something. Y’all are screaming about overcompensation (fair) but are you walking that walking or do you have a closet full of clothes& only wear the same pieces ? It’s not ANYONES job but yours to monitor what you spend how you spend or how you mange your personal finances.
She has worked extremely hard to get to the place she’s at, not like she’s been handed her success, but also the affiliates for hundreds of dollars of items was a little much. I
@@autumnsssssseveryone is throwing fits over her adding affiliate links for things she was gifted. The adult thing to do is not buy something from the link if you don’t agree with it. Bullying her into deleting this is ick.
11:47 lol have definitely noticed the time stamping of products way more recently. Figured that was just an extra earnings initiative since 20-whatever was sunset.
PSA to Sierra and team: Can you please stop putting the affiliate link pop up thingy in the video. If I wanted to see it I would go in the description for the link. There’s not even a way to remove it so it just stays there. It’s ANNOYING
This is why influencers are losing subscribers and views….. IN THIS ECONOMY BABE????? This is not what those panels meant by showing off products and doing hauls/gift wishlist videos! This is plain overconsumption and ignorance of your audience. Do better.

When those panel experts at the event talked about adding affiliate links to your videos, I think they forgot to mention you should consider the audience. What a major mistake. This channel was trying to position itself as SOMEWHAT eco-considerate and not that consumption-oriented. It's only natural this video is getting bad reviews - you cannot have an aware, mindful audience and then shower them with ads. I'm sure other UA-camrs who are strictly consumerism-focused won't get that kind of feedback on their videos but it's because they cater to a different audience. Did you forget who are you talking to? You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
It's also just wild that they thought it was a good idea to post affiliate links for items she got FOR FREE. There's no way she can continue to position herself as environmentally conscious when almost everything she shows of her actual life contradicts that. However, I'm sure she'll take these comments as "hate". They've already deleted several others.
I love Sierra and so if reading this please know is just about your actions not the person you are! However this seems very tone deaf. Like look at all the expensive shit got for free but you should spend your heard earned money on so I can make more money. I know part of your job is influencing but you should use the sway you have over people to promote the things you claim to vaule. Like the environment and small businesses. This just screamed I benefitting from capitalism and the holidays = capitalist gift giving. Just confused why this brag of a video exists?? Makes me really consider who I am actually supporting here?

Love you girl but this video is WEIRD! Why are they having a holiday event in October? Also the amount of stuff they gave you seems really wild and unnecessary. Love that they gave you workshops and new ideas but alllllllllllllll the stuff seriously makes me uncomfortable 🥴
The "holiday event" (in reality more of a sales conference) is held in October to give the creators time to create content for the products they got given and generate sales from their viewers in the lead up to the holidays. This was never about thanking their creators, this is about making money.
Am I the only one who's confused about being vegetarian for enviromental reasons but then overconsuming far beyond normal? Taking the plane while S & G drove, the constant shopping on both channels, supporting shitty companies... I just can't
I agree about the overconsumption, but I believe Sierra elected to fly with Alice rather than subject her to a 6 hour car ride. Seemed like that choice was informed by what would be best and easiest for her infant. Totally agree about the materialism though!
@heliophilegf Ihu but if we're looking at it that way, we could also say it was a totally unnecessary trip. They could have chosen somewhere closer to home. I just can't with the double standards.
She’s not a vegetarian for environmental reasons because she consistently supports/is sponsored by companies who have some of the of the most egregious impacts on the environment.

Could she have donated or done a giveaway? Yes. But she doesn’t have to! Yes it sucks that I can’t afford nice things, but why criticize people that can? She wasn’t flexing at all… y’all are bitter
I think it's awesome that you have these opportunities! I know if I was invited I would select all items lol. But I don't like the fact that influencers only get these items free for the sole purpose to influence their viewers to purchase the items. If those companies knew they won't be shown they most likely wouldn't be giving them away.

I'm glad that everyone is starting to notice overconsumption. But y'all...this has always been Sierra's job. Don't act like she's the one who's changed
Yeah, the comment deleting is super off-putting. Censoring your PUBLIC audience to fit a narrative is extremely questionable behavior. If one can't take the response to a public video, maybe the videos shouldn't be made public. It comes with the territory.
those events gross me out. getting free shit when you're plenty rich enough to afford to buy it all. yet people with less money are forced to work and save for everything. had to watch 2x speed through most of it and then couldn't finish bc you just couldn't stop bragging about all the free shit you got just bc you have some followers. idk
this is their job tho, showing it on youtube is financing all these free things because we see them and maybe want to buy them… the youtuber getting to try these things (wich is very nice and a privilege) and showing them is like a commercial in itself… if you consume youtube this is what you get, beeing bitter or jealous about it won‘t change that ✌️ let the girl be excited about the free shit, i would be excited too
@@maikeberndt409 no one is saying she can’t be excited! I just think it’s tacky to post affiliate links for the stuff she got for free to try and make more money off her viewers (when the viewers are the reason she gets this stuff for free in the first place)
Idk if it’s just mine or if I can take it off.. but why tf is there an affiliate link popping up on screen for like everything she tried on. Omg like pls I don’t wanna see it. If anyone knows how to take it off plsss lmk!!! Ig I can google it too tho lol
Kindly, this content is not it. I hope these comments from your audience can be taken constructively and help you reconnect with your viewers. I rarely comment, but this video was inappropriate and highly unrelatable to the community you have created. This could also be an opportunity to give back to those most in need

The fact that there are affiliate links here for you to make money from things you got for free….I’ve been a subscriber for years but this gave me the ick in ways I can’t describe. More disappointing than when you did a giveaway for $10 items when you make substantially more than any of us ever will in our lifetime. Acknowledge your privilege, Sierra. Unsubscribed.
I appreciate the transparency but when you’re being taught how to better shill products to your audience (not how to make better content or provide value to us) maybe that should stay behind the scenes. It clearly doesn’t feel good for us to watch
I have been a very long time fan but I'm done after that. This is wildly out of touch. Linking affiliate codes for items you received for free is way out of line.
I read through the comments, and perhaps it's because I use an ad blocker, but I didnt see any affiliate links on screen. Or maybe you took them down. But either way, I didnt feel like this video was out of the norm of the usual style or content type. Im not in the demographic of people who are struggling, especially because I don't live in the US, so maybe that's why this didn't bother me at all? Not sure, but I do feel like the comments are a slight overreaction, because you've done these types of videos for years.
I hope you discuss your reasoning behind why you thought it was appropriate to profit off gifted items instead of glossing over constructed criticism like normally.
She is not directly selling the prodtcs she got at the event, she is linking the products for people interested in buying them after watching her show the products, something all other I flienvers do what's the problems there? Yall mean high-school girls trying to make drama out of the most minimal thing is hilarious
@@gshimon she is including links that when the item is purchased, she makes a commission. She is an affiliate. By doing this, she clearly intends to make money off of items she got for free and didn’t even use yet. It’s shady and gross.
@@gshimonI am aware that she is not selling the products she received from the event, but she is profiting off of the affiliate links included in the video. I thought you were about sustainability, supporting small businesses and being socially aware & responsible :( I think it’s obvious how disappointing this is Sierra, you know better
As a girl who has curly hair, I slick my hair while it’s damp/wet. I put my hair lotion (which you don’t have to, my hair be dryyyy) then I use mousse and layer gel on top. Then spray with hair spray on top. I cover my hair with a headscarf to keep the hair slick. My hair be rock hard but don’t budge 😂❤
Wow so yeah. There are hundreds of thousands of American citizens without water and/or HOMES due to the devastating events of Helene and Milton. Read the room. Besides that, even 40 hr a week workers that have been working since they were legally allowed to are living paycheck to paycheck, just glad if we don't overdraft our bank accounts. This event video was so distasteful.
A little surprised by the hate on this video. I think it’s really cool to see the behind the scenes and events like this. Sure the gifts are over the top but I still like to see it and she said she’s giving lots of it to friends and family. Don’t watch influencers if you’re just gonna be jealous

While I do understand the comments and I’m broke asf too, that’s not Sierra’s fault and I think you guys are being a little too hard on her. She’s never claimed to be something other than what she is. This is her job, she is working 🤷🏻♀️
Loving your vlogs Sierra :) quick tip for the mini Coquette from Le Creuset, you can do the S'mores trend for a little sweet treat or you can fit a camembert cheese inside with honey on top, then oven and is the perfect container!
Ohhhh I love this idea!!!! Thank you!!! I think I’m gonna get it and make like a little gift basket with like s’mores ingredients and a honey cheese board ingredients!!!
I was gifted one of those Le Crueset bakeware mini pots and had no idea what to do with it as it was just one. My husband decided it was perfect to hold our finishing salt and looks really pretty on our counter.
I am genuinely surprised by the reaction to this video. I think everyone forgets that you are a real person, like any normal human would be excited about some new, useful items! Sierra does everything she can to donate and thrift items in her videos and her life, like let her live! I would be so excited to share all these items with my family and friends as is she. Stop holding ppl online to standards you probably don't hold yourself or others to.
Tip for the slick back bun. Just do it when your hair is wet right after the shower it slicks back perfect then coat it in hairspray and it sorta stays wet all day but also it keeps it in place haha
As someone who is struggling with medical expenses and feeding myself and my husband the grocery hauls were getting on my nerves. But the absolute slap in the face that is that swag haul and then throwing affiliate links at us for the entire video...just gross. Help your fans, not your bank account. And honestly, we all know Stephen makes enough at his job to more than support your family. Just saying. Trying to decide if I'll give more chances or unsubscribe tonight.
Love this for you! The comments are crazy. People learned the word “overconsumption” and are running with it. This is your job and people can either buy or not buy products. It’s not Sierras fault… 🙄
I LOVED THIS VIDEO! It’s so interesting to see what products are handed out and what it would be like to go to an event. Please don’t stop posting these! I looked at the comments and cannot believe everyone is upset that you received free items. You worked so hard to make it on this platform. Hard work gets rewarded.
Great video. I’m new to your channel and I love your vibe. And, I can’t tell the difference in the two Bottega bags and the COPYMAXY is close enough and it’s cute so that’s good enough for me.
Girls get it! I can’t imagine the work and thousands of hours you’ve put in over the YEARS to get your channels to a point where you are invited to these kinds of events. Post the affiliate links, if your video is the reason someone buys one of these products you definitely deserve to get a little commission for that. You still have a business to run, families to support and feed. You’d be silly to work for free! Sounds like the event was fun and worth it! Enjoy the products and thanks for sharing some of it! I don’t have it in me to be a content creator but I love seeing the cool stuff and behind the scenes of it all!
These comments are not it guys. Y’all are basically saying you only love Sierra when she stays at home with her kids 24/7. She has worked so hard to be where she is today and she deserves to be a little spoiled sometimes. Those who truly know sierra know she would never intentionally make distasteful content. We’re girls girls over here 💅🏻🥰
I don’t think these comments are mad that she got free stuff, they are upset she is linking them and earning money off it. Linking things so people can buy them if they want is one thing, earning money off it is different
This is such an echo chamber comment. No one is accusing Sierra of making intentionally distasteful content. I see nothing but "I love you but..." constructive criticism comments, feedback for why they don't like video, and suggestions for what Sierra can do differently.
The cocotte is great to present an appetizer, like a baked dip, during parties. I have a set of four and use them for individual baked entrees like individual lasagnas. Le Creuset also has a cookbook just for the mini cocotte!
I dunno why there’s so much hate in the comments :/ but I really liked this video. Definitely jealous about that event with the yummy food and awesome gifts!
We sell the arbor made candles at my job and they make the whole room smell great even after you are done burning them! People always compliment them!!
Idk why everyone is hating I love hauls and we don’t need to hold people to extremely high expectations. Sierra went to a fun event and got products for herself friends and family. Don’t hate because she’s doing something fun. Like don’t we all want to attend something like this and get free gifts
@@angelicaconnolly5707 I don’t think the haul and the event is the problem. That’s amazing and I agree, it’s totally cool she got to go. It’s the fact that she got all the free product and THEN is choosing to link them all with affiliate links which she makes money from. It’s weird. Also, why recommend the products when she hasn’t even used them yet? Idk, I’m all for a fun influencer haul regardless of the cost because I live vicariously through them but the affiliate link think is wild.
I know these videos are not for everyone, but I do like to see what’s new and get ideas for the holidays. I work in a field where I get invited to events that would look great on social media - no free stuff per se, but free tickets - and let me tell you it's the best part of the job. I feel so incredibly grateful and spoiled every single time I go - and let me tell you some of my colleagues don't even take advantage of these things. If you get the opportunity to work in a field that gives you opportunities you wouldn't necessarily have access to otherwise absolutely take every single one of them! 🥰

I have followed Sierra for years. I saw her podcast with Skylar and her being ignored at beauty con. I watched that humiliation and I watched Sierra and Skylar bounce back. And I’ve supported her channel throughout. Today I read so much hate come through, because Sierra attended an influencer event that was not a humiliation for her. It was an event that actually felt like an influencer event should feel! Like beauty con should have felt! It was an even where she was pampered and celebrated and was treated like a queen! All of the things we were upset about that didn’t happen at beauty con for Sierra and Skylar. So now why are we so angry about Sierra being treated like a queen!? Once upon a time we wanted this for her! Now we are spewing hate about her being given gifts? I have supported Sierra for years and think it’s amazing to watch her channel and her income grow. I love to see her and her family flourish.
I adore the Coach Wild Rose!! I got the mini version in a perfume sampler set, and I got so many compliments on how it smelled on me! I haven’t been able to justify the price for the bottle though 😢
This was mentioned in a video sometime ago, but I think it was just snuck in randomly not its own video. Ryan and Paloma are both pursuing other interests/endeavors and won’t be in collective videos for the most part.
I'm sorry you're getting so many negative comments on this video! I loved seeing you get some girl time and have some fun. You have to pay your bills too and this is literally your job. Please don't let the responses discourage you from sharing your vlogs ❤️

out of touch as usual.
Also the fact that she didn’t even use the products and still recommended them via affiliate link. Okay, Jaclyn Hill.
I love Sierra and so if reading this please know is just about your actions not the person you are! However this seems very tone deaf. Like look at all the expensive shit got for free but you should spend your heard earned money on so I can make more money.

Yeah, the comment deleting is super off-putting. Censoring your PUBLIC audience to fit a narrative is extremely questionable behavior. If one can't take the response to a public video, maybe the videos shouldn't be made public. It comes with the territory.
