Great looking bobber. I just got myself a 99 roadstar 1600 and I have been looking at these roadstar bobbers for a long time. cant wait to turn mine! I love the look. Great Job!
This video deserves more likes than dislikes!! I have a motorcycle myself, a honda shadow 750 that i would like to turn into a hardtail bobber one day!! These kind of videos are inspiring!!🤘🏻
I'm inspired, found a 1600 road star a few hours away on craigslist, that is just dying for a bobber makeover! I'm seriously considering getting it, and working on it since it's starting to cool down outside. So, was wondering if you could answer some questions. The tail light, what's it called and where did you order it from? I've seen other bobber builds using forks and clamps that look like that. What are they called, and did you get them off eBay like your tank and fenders? Did you need to buy new throttle and clutch cables using taller handle bars, or did the stock ones work okay?
The tail light was from eBay as well. The listing title was - LED 3/4" Axle Motorcycle License Plate Bracket Tail Light Fit for Chopper Bobber The forks/clamps/triple tree are all stock Roadstar parts. I removed the covers from the forks and painted those and the triple tree. The cables were all stock as well, I only had to re-route them for them to reach without stretching. The bars I used were 10” high, any higher or wider and you might need longer cables.
Thanks man and yes I did. I used an 1/8” sheet of ABS plastic. Cut it roughly to shape, laid it on the bike and hit it with a heat hun for a few minutes until it contoured perfectly. Just used some Velcro under to hold it in place. Cheap but effective solution!
I bought them on EBay. They are 10” rise Z bars. I sat on the seat, held my arms where they were comfortable, and measured height and width. Made my purchase based on those measurements.
@@kevinu8919 it’s a GPS speedometer. Just power, ground and the wire for the GPS portion. I just used the wiring diagram that came with the Speedo. It was very simple.
what a troll. It seems you had nothing of substance or worth to say. It's a little sad that you resorted to using your pea sized intellect instead of leaving an actual critique. Smh.

Joshua Arther thank you! And good luck with your build. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hola, que velocímetro es? Para adaptar a mi Road Star! Saludos
I used a universal GPS speedometer. You can find them online for around $65
Bike came out sweet!! Did you custom make the battery cover?
My bike is done pretty similar, but has exposed battery, trying to find a solution

What kind of gas tank did u use? Where did you buy it
A Fade Away Barbershop it’s a frisco mount 2.5 gallon Sportster tank. Bought it off eBay from lowbrowcustoms
Did you have to modify the tank at all, or was I good fit. Beautiful bike by the way.
where did you purchase the ape bars? what size?

@@ryguy7861 is this a 1600? where did you get the rear fender as well?
@@kevinu8919 yes it’s a 1600. The fender and bracket were purchased from LowBrow Customs.
@@ryguy7861 curious on how did you wire your speedometer

Curious if you know how much weight you would of dropped at the end?
Between the pipes, tank and fenders (heaviest components) I would estimate around 50lbs.
@@ryguy7861 Not bad at all. Thanks for the reply.
What forks did you use?
They are the original forks. I tossed the covers and painted the forks black.
Where did you get the rear fender
eBay. I searched for round top steel fender.
Is this for sale?
I don’t know. I sold it a couple years ago.
Boring ,bolt on parts , predictable build.
Sorry if I didn’t exceed your expectations.
