If you use zip ties instead for all attachments, then this tree is able to be disassembled yearly for storage. Also you'll be able to change the look wherever you want.
you can get flexible pipe cleaners in a color that matches your tinsel use that to hang the ornaments, we use them on our xmas trees dont cost much and can just wrap them around branches or the tinsel and they blend in.
My mom made these in the 90s minus the basket. She'd do Victorian with beautiful ornaments and velvet bows etc ... fabulous. Great idea with these dollar tree items to start with and embellishments like crazy. I do love them and wanted to try it so thanks! I no longer have the one my momma made.
You can also get a tomato cage that you put around the tomato put it upside down and zip tie the ends and you got the same exact thing without all the wooden dowels in the laundry basket it’s just one thing and then wrap your tinsel Garland around that and you got a tree happy holiday
I do that for outside. If you get heavy duty wire cutters clip the circular part off then you can push the part that is left in the ground. I then use lighted garland to make it like a tree
@Lark_Vivian If you raise tomatoes you probably have a few. The convenience of not having to attach the wooden dowels would make it worth the extra cost to me. Also, cutting the bottom off is well worth the effort.
That upside-down laundry basket gave me a great idea for a tree base cover. I can cut it down to correct height and then wrap a Burlap or whatever around it. Thanks!!
Mine was a fake palm tree with a star, one strand of lights and a handful of ornaments. Lol My outdoor “decor” was 3 spray painted tumbleweeds that I turned into a “snowman” My daughter’s first Christmas tree was a string of lights in the shape of a Christmas tree on the wall with little dollar tree ornaments. Had to get creative when we were poor!
Great idea! I'm also going to do this with 2 metal tomato stands and wrap them up with garland, fairy lights, and mini Christmas ornaments for my teenage daughters!! They'll love having their own Christmas tree 🎄 in their bedrooms!!
So cute! I’m totally making this tomorrow but with lights inside! I have a bunch of battery operated Christmas lights and fairy lights that I think will work.
Add different sized ornaments please and add a few more different sized baskets for larger and smaller sized trees... in a set of three would look great. Such a cute idea.
I think instead of putting the lights inside, I would wrap them around the tree like the tinsel. And I’d use either the tiny led lights or regular small ones unless you could find a very long set of fairy lights. Either way, I’d probably get the lights with white wire instead of green. I’d wrap it tightly around the tree and attach it with zip ties first then wrap the tinsel on top of the lights. After the tinsel is on, I’d go back and pull each individual lightbulb out so they’re all pushed through the tinsel. That way you can see them better.
Oh snap this is awesome and just have me an idea for an outdoors model. I want to find a small battery pack and put some lights ofn that baby. I think I'ma have to do 2 groups of 3 each having a grouping of Gold tinsel, Pink tinsel and Purple tinsel. Just curious, as you are gluing the tinsel how much glue do you actually use and how much tinsel did you use? I know from some epic crafting fails that sometimes more glu isn't always the way to go

Good idea
Longer wood stems.= taller bigger tree. More possibilities.
Perfect!
Hot glue is easy to undo
Yes
This is EXTREMELY CREATIVE, I LOVE THIS!!!
You just saved everyone hundreds of dollars from purchasing an expensive Xmas tree great diy
Making a pink one for my foster daughters room for sure. Thanks for the idea super excited
Lights inside the tree would have been nice too.
This is adorable! I'm going to make one for my bedroom! Lovely!
Nice office idea.
What is the name of the stick they used ?
Very pretty. Same results as using a tomato cage. I used a laundry basket to make a witches hat for my front yard Halloween decorations.

That is an absolutely brilliant idea. Wish l had thought of it years ago!😊
I use regular green hangers but do exactly what you do. You can't see them either.
this is my Xmas tree from now on ! 👍

My Mom did stuff like this also.😊
That's a fantastic idea especially for those that can't afford to buy a Christmas 🎄 for their families. Love it thnx blessings always ☺️.
true

Where can u find tomato cages cheaper than a 1.25 laundry basket?
@@Lark_Vivianmy thoughts exactly 😅

Oh my goodness, thank you for the idea. I have bunch of these
I suspeded a bag of stones from the middle of basket to weigh it down and added lights.
How cute and easy and not expensive
You could totally add some little led lights and that can be another outdoor decoration 😊
Precioso y original!
Para este año ya no!
Pero para el siguiente si Dios me presta vida lo voy hacer .
You should put a set of lights inside or an electric candle so light can shimmer through the tree
I love this idea, thank you for the craft
I'm making one for my mother! TFS!!(❤
I wanna try it so bad it looks so pretty!

Omgosh, you're a freaking genius!!🤗
Amen
Definitely going to do this. Our xmas trees are very expensive.
So cute!! Smart ideal!! 🎅🌲
Aww that’s so cute 🥰
My first Christmas tree in my first apartment was a green poster board rolled unto a cine with a small Santa in top.
Mine was a fake palm tree with a star, one strand of lights and a handful of ornaments. Lol

Is too cute.. Thank you

Tomato cages work great too. I Keep two in my decks, swap out ribbon or garland per season. They stack well if not in use.

How bout you do it
you did a great job at the tinsel tree! if you put twinkle lights on the inside, do you think it would show through? it looks great.
I was thinking the same thing aswell

Any ideas how many packages of tinsel wrap I’d need for this?
