Nino Rota: 'Grillo Notturno' (from Sette Pezzi Difficile per Bambini) for piano

This is the fifth of the seven pieces in Nino Rota's collection (published by Ricordi, 1981) and the title is given as 'Cricket in the Night' in English. Such a simple idea, and so well executed by the composer!

Yes, agreed and the Ravel comparison made me smile (which is grizzlier: corpse or mosquito? You decide!) Nino Rota has a great gift for this kind of inspired simplicity, I think.
