Cheers Joe, most of the crap on my Halkon Hunt bib and brace comes from landing net when between legs, grangers is good, i was told that an iron is as good if tumble dryer not available.
Wickersley angling went out of their way for me when I bought a HH Bib n Brace from them. It was too long in the leg for me because I'm such a short ass. They sent it to HH and had them sort it out. Wickersley Rule. They posted it all to my home in Wimborne Dorset
Ive had Goretex kit for about 10yrs, fishing most weeks all year round and ive always use the recommended washing stuff (Nikwax wash then Nikwax reproofer) and the clothing is still good. So bang right about washing the Goretex. Smashing video Joe and really good tips as well. Thank you. I'll also check out the Grangers.
Thanks for that Joe, There's nothing on the internet at all about washing your waterproofs or should I say on the fishing side, i've just washed three sets of waterproofs, And even before I saw your video I decided that I would wash them more often on a regular basis, I was just about to swap over from my prestons DFX to myMatrix winter suit which was in a right state from last winter haven't been washed, When I decided to get a grip of this, Wash mine in Nick wax, But like the sound of the Grangers, i really think you should do a video on this on the NuFish channel, There are awful lot of anglers don't know anything about washing their waterproofs properly and on a regular basis, Look after them,And they'll look after you.
Good video, HH have instructions on their website but a video was needed. After running an empty wash I also take out the drawer in the washing machine (straightforward) and make sure that is clean before cleaning the gore tex as detergent and conditioner can stay in there.
Great video Joe. Has anyone washed the Matrix Tri layer 25k stuff this way and tumble dried it? Just wondering as the care label says no tumble drying and as my gear is newish I dont want to risk it.
Great info Joe, I would never dream of putting my stuff in the tumble dryer as I thought it would damage it, it hangs around for days sometimes drying off, would it be ok to put the Garbolino waterproofs suit in the dryer? Ps; I always put all my nets in the garden to dry and usually washed too with our wonderful weather 😎😎
can you explain to us non-UK subs what you mean by thumble dry it? dry it in a clothes drying machine that heats and tumbles it or dry it in the washing machine and then finish it off in the sun? do you recommend that grangers for Preston DFX also since it is not gore-tex I think? thanks ;)
I've got a set of black bib & brace leggings. Not expensive by any means but I've had them for over 3 years. I just wash them with ordinary washing powder and conditioner, on their own. It does absolutely no harm to them, all that has happened is that they have faded a bit. But they're still as waterproof as the day I bought them. They cost me just over £20. No need to fork out hundreds of pounds just because they have a big name brand on them.
Great video Joe, I've always done the same as you when it comes to my nets as I hang them out to dry thoroughly for 24 hours once I'm home. When it comes to gortex clothing that is a great tip as like you said no one has ever done a video on UA-cam to show how to clean it, unfortunately i can't buy any in the shops as I can't get it in my size but if you can just tell me again the name of the company you know who can make gortex clothing to fit I'll see about speaking to them once I have the money to get some
The video I've been waiting for for 2 years! The only other question is, I no longer own a drier which has put me off from washing my clothing, as its meant to be quite important? Would a hair drier suffice to seal the waterproofing 🤔
The best is to avoid dirty clothes. Simply bij putting a bowl of water with a ring on the left front of the plateau. Put your (fish/groundbait) hand in the water and grab a little towel, problem solved.
I have a tub of water on my left hand side, sometimes on my tray if there's room, and I usually have a small towel on my knee to wipe my hands. Not rocket science is it?
Simple. Bucket of soapy water a hard bristle brush and some elbow grease then hang on washing line hose them down.. job done. Gets rid of your bingo wings
I never see Ads as I have U Block Ad blocker. I see enough ads on the telly!👍 And before anyone has a go, I watched the video, left a like and I subscribed months ago. That's enough for me.
Nice to have a first youtube on cleaning our good and expensive clothes.❤
Very informative 👍as a Fishery owner I wish everyone did what u did with your nets the best defense for KHV👍

Hehe..I remember reading your comment on their channel at the time
Very informative, 100 % Agree Joe Halkon Hunt the best fishing gear £££ can buy FACT

It really does help 🤣 I'm the last person to want to clean it but I don't wanna fork out 700 anytime soon 👍
Great informative vid as always 👍
Thank you for that Joe will be getting some of that for my bib and brace, Thank you

Great information Joe looked great after the wash
That's absolutely great info
Nice example. I use an older terry towel and velcro. My son also uses it on fish and it is not dirty.

Brilliant video Joe, thanks
Great video, but what if you don't have a tumble dryer?
Finally got mine done
To many muddy days at Barby banks!!
Regards Martin Davis
GReat info. Thanks Joe.
I could of balled my bib and brace in at one point. It was that encrusted with grounbait, it stood up on its own!
What if you have no tumble dryer. Is there any other method to get the DWR back?
Love the video, however what if you don’t have a tumble dryer 😢 what’s the best way to dry them TIA @match
Great video Joe.
Has anyone washed the Matrix Tri layer 25k stuff this way and tumble dried it? Just wondering as the care label says no tumble drying and as my gear is newish I dont want to risk it.
Stick with those instructions. The heat from the tumble could upset the seam taping

What machine cycle do you use Joe , i never know if you do a quick wash or a longer programme

You can just air dry it too 👍

That's great as long as they do the job for you
Where did you get them from for £20
How long in the tumble dryer? Low heat im guessing
Super 👌
I feel like the proper cleaning and maintence of fishing kit is something that is not talked enough about on UA-cam.

Halkon hunt
@@MatchFishingFilms cheers Joe
Do you have to tumble dry it as I don't have a tumble dryer?
You can air dry it👍
The video I've been waiting for for 2 years! The only other question is, I no longer own a drier which has put me off from washing my clothing, as its meant to be quite important? Would a hair drier suffice to seal the waterproofing 🤔
I asked halkon hunt yesterday and they said drying them in the air is fine 👍
@@MatchFishingFilms much appreciated, cheers Joe! 👌🏻
But doesn’t it say on the grangers packs and bottles only follow what it says on the label for drying my says no tumble drying
I can only speak for halkon hunt and they recommend a tumble. Best to follow instructions on whatever clothing you have
Bit like mine Joe and they're only 3 weeks old lol
Didn't find Granger's that good. Gone back to Nik Wax
Joe I have the halkon hunt diawa bib and brace but was worried about the plastic bit being in the tumble dryer, do you leave them on ?
Which plastic bits Mark?
@@MatchFishingFilms the clips on the shoulder straps
I don't take em off and they've been grand
Cant wear all that stuff in the summer , between April and October too hot
Empty wash she wont let me do that have you seen price of electricity i get reminded every day 😭

I can't take anyone serious that wears there baseball cap backwards.
👍
Whilst filming this type of subject it's good to see the face - hence cap on backwards. That's serious professionalism.
@@wharfeego 🤣🤣🤣 I'm just not a serious person and live my life with odd socks and my hat on backwards. Oh well...
Adds are getting ridiculous, giving these a miss in future.
No problem Steve. Out of interest would you prefer paid for content that's ad free?
