Just wanted to share that I’ve booked to go to the IOW in October and travel without my husband but go with my sons. For me, this is a MASSIVE step and going into the unknown and travelling without someone who can do things for me, and I’m so nervous but I know I need this and to be able to do this for myself and my head. I love my own company and rarely have that, so to book this is because of you Mark. You are slowly giving my confidence and the YES that I can do something like this. Thank you xx

Mark is one of those people that radiates goodness and wholesome energy. I truly enjoyed this video. Solo travel can be scary to consider at first but its so rewarding and such a great experience. It can help you learn a lot about yourself and grow as a person as well. The way I see it is that you shouldnt rob yourself from doing all the things you want to do just cause you might not have someone to do it with. Yes doing things with others are fun but doing stuff on your own can be fun and fulfilling as well. Don't miss out on something just cause you might not have a partner to do it with. Do it on your own and go live life. And just like mark said, you just got to stop caring what others have to think cause that'll rob you from a lot of things in your life and just leave you with regret. Its not easy but trust me, itll all be worth it once you do stop caring and do what you want to do.
My partner and I went to Tokyo in June and it was the most beautiful country I’ve ever seen highly highly HIGHLY recommend for ur next solo adventure. I would suggest staying in the Shinjuku area was so beautiful and central

I’m a freelancer so my schedule is much more flexible than those of my friends and allows me to travel very frequently. If I didn’t do some solo trips I would miss out on so many opportunities. I usually would rather have a nasty rash than even think about solo travel but I have to say you've really made it look approachable and appealing, the thought of just meandering along, filming everything pretty, eating whatever, and just not having to cater to anyone else and do whatever I want... actually now seems like a fantastic idea. Of course, it helps that we have the Mark Ferris dialogue going over everything, makes it extra cozy, funny, and fun!
I am Dutch and I have to say, such a nice and warming video about Amsterdam. There is often something sentimental about your videos and I love that. (Cafe) ‘Kale’ we also use for calling people Bold (no hair)… Don’t know if the cafe uses it like that too or it is a name. So cool you travel alone and made such a grow in that. Something to be very proud off 🙏🏻
I sadly only transited through Amsterdam but both ways I found the people so lovely so that I can’t wait to visit. The vibe was so easy to fall in love with. I lived in Amsterdam, for a little over year. I had my own bike it was a little scary at first then I got use to it. It’s the only way to travel around Amsterdam. I saw the gift you sent your best friend for her engagement, it was so thoughtful.

When you walked through that corridor I freaked out😂 when in Amsterdam, avoid going through those + watch out for the bikes. And thank you for showing how beautiful Amsterdam is. I live near Amsterdam and forget the beauty of it sometimes

I plan to see Petra which is one of the 7 wonders of the world, float in the Red Sea, do a therapeutic Red Sea mud bath, experience Bedouin culture in the desert, I'm not sure about sleeping under the stars in the desert, I may need to use a tent.

It was actually built in the 17th century (1648-1665) as Amsterdams new city hall on the back of the euforic feelings in the Dutch Republic due to the 'Peace of Münster' which finally, after decades of war against the Spanish crown, recognised the Republic as an independent entity (de facto the Republic was independent from or at war with the Spanish since the 1570's). At the time it was the largest non-religeous building in Europe and designed to display Amsterdams power and wealth. Which was ... unrivaled at the time in the western world. It only became a royal palace when Napoleon Bonaparte installed his brother as king of the (short-lived) Kingdom of Holland around 1790

My mom was born in the Jordaan :) I grew up in Amsterdam and moved to the South of the Netherlands in my early 20's but my mom and brother still live in Amsterdam so I come there often 😉next time visit longer and really experience the Dutch way of living 😄and visit Delft, that is where i am at and you'd love it! It's like Amsterdam but much smaller and more compact with lots of canals and churches. Loved the vlog 💗
My daughter is 19 n went to Amsterdam last summer n she said it’s the first time she felt comfortable in her own skin n with other people around her ❤ she can’t wait to go back 🥰

I think it would be a good video idea to do a “doing things you’re too scared to for a day” to show us that it’s really not scary. But just basic things like eating in a restaurant alone etc. maybe ask on your instagram story things that people are scared to do because they’re afraid of being judged. You’ve really helped me feel like it’s okay to do things yourself so I think that could potentially help lots more people x

I am glad you doing what you are loving & enjoy watching your experiences. I may never get overseas but i am exploring closer to home & taking up photography whilst on my adventures & loving it. Thanks for sharing your Amsterdam trip with us! I just booked a solo tour to Jordan for next month, it may be a place you'd like to experience. I plan to see Petra which is one of the 7 wonders of the world, float in the Red Sea, do a therapeutic Red Sea mud bath, experience Bedouin culture in the desert, I'm not sure about sleeping under the stars in the desert, I may need to use a tent.

12:50 just to add a little context to the 'royal palace at the Dam' . It was actually built in the 17th century (1648-1665) as Amsterdams new city hall on the back of the euforic feelings in the Dutch Republic due to the 'Peace of Münster' which finally, after decades of war against the Spanish crown, recognised the Republic as an independent entity (de facto the Republic was independent from or at war with the Spanish since the 1570's). At the time it was the largest non-religeous building in Europe and designed to display Amsterdams power and wealth. Which was ... unrivaled at the time in the western world. It only became a royal palace when Napoleon Bonaparte installed his brother as king of the (short-lived) Kingdom of Holland around 1790

My mom was born in the Jordaan :) I grew up in Amsterdam and moved to the South of the Netherlands in my early 20's but my mom and brother still live in Amsterdam so I come there often 😉next time visit longer and really experience the Dutch way of living 😄and visit Delft, that is where i am at and you'd love it! It's like Amsterdam but much smaller and more compact with lots of canals and churches. Loved the vlog 💗

New York was founded by Dutch colonists and was originally called New Amsterdam so it would explain the similar buildings and feel. Loved this vlog thanks for taking us with you x

I think it would be a good video idea to do a “doing things you’re too scared to for a day” to show us that it’s really not scary. But just basic things like eating in a restaurant alone etc. maybe ask on your instagram story things that people are scared to do because they’re afraid of being judged. You’ve really helped me feel like it’s okay to do things yourself so I think that could potentially help lots more people x
