I’m 43 and used to play when I was younger, but quit. In choosing a new, cheaper guitar, I had it down to this, an Epiphone and a Yamaha, and this video, among others, convinced me to go for the Fender … GLAD I DID. It’s a lovely, entry level guitar.
Cheers.
Thats my dad 😁😁😁😁
Hi son lol
Daniel Anderson Guitar Tuition 😂😂😂😂
Wow😂😂
cool dad
We are brothers)
Just BOUGHT IT TODAY !!! Perfect guitar, really piece of art 👌🏼🎊
I bought mine a year ago in August 2020; been practicing on my own ...pretty happy overall with the guitar. $200 not bad.
A great review. Just the info I was looking for. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I ordered mine and I CANNOT STAND THE WAIT! I want it NOW!
don't know where you order from, but american musical supply ships fast, free and on the first payment of your items, they rock
Me too, but two years later :)
Me too
Ordered this beaut and can't wait to play her!!
:)
I own one of these and it's a qaulity acoustic.iv been playing twenty four yt.and I know a a quality guitar and it's got machine heads which are shit hot.glad I bout it stays in tune it's brilliant
Nice review, thank you! :)
I have the cutaway electric version, fantastic guitar. I don’t know why it is marketed for beginners, maybe because of the price (only 219€) but it’s easily good enough for a gigging musician. Mine came with D’Addario 11 gauge phosphor bronze strings which I think are perfect. Thanks for the review!
Thank you. This model is a starter instrument. It depends where you are planning to gig! If this is a serious thing then you need to spend real money on a guitar that solid top, back and sides! i.e. it will last and sound great!
Great review Bought this in black today, as a complete novice I find this guitar excellent for beginner's 🤘
The black version has a spruce top which sounds slightly different than mahogany. Still a solid top and still excellent value for money.
Yes good value!
Matte finish would be nicer.
Great guitar! I have one.
Actually this guitar sound pretty pro. Here in Argentina is actually expensive, I played one of these a couple weeks ago and it is an excellent instrument.
Its a very money value guitar, though it kinda sounds abit raw,,,it's worth buying it🙌.
I went and got one a few days ago from Guitar Center. I've been playing for 46 years and I like it but, I'm going to swap out the saddle and bridge pins for some Graph-tech tusq which will improve the tone.
Well ok but not sure you really need to do that. Play it till you are much better then by a much better guitar no?
@@DanielAndersonGuitarTuition
No, if the neck angles are proper on these production assemblys then its worth to, upgrade the tone..
HUMIDIFY. @
Very good and informative video.
Well thankyou :)
Great job! Curious to know what make and model is the small guitar hanging on the wall behind you? Thanks
does this have build in pick up?
5:00 (guy opens the box and stops talking).
guitar starts talking
Played from the time I was about 13 till my mid 20's. Now I'm 65 and I just ordered the CD60-S. I caught myself wasting time in the evening watching UA-cam and decided to do something more productive like take the guitar up again.
Looking forward to sore fingers.
Excellent! You are never too old :)
Hello, Daniel! Thank you for great video! I would like to know has Fender 60cd the widest neck? Because the most acoustic guitars have narrow neck and are difficult to play for people with big hands.
Hi there. There are plenty of people with big hands that play guitars with small necks. Just look at Steve Vai. He has big hands and plays electric! I play a Lowden which has a slightly wider neck than the CD60-S but I personally find it easier to play a narrower neck. I think it's an individual thing. Check out my article on my website blog (www.daguitartuition.com) where I talk briefly about the classical position for the left hand.
Nice video mate, especially with regards to unpacking the guitar as sent. Would you care to enlighten me where you bought this from?
Michael Michael of course, got it in Matchetts Belfast 👍🏻
thanks !
Hello, i want to get 0,13 - 053. Would it work with this guitar? Been having troubles with strings get to tense.
Hi Viking Vrede. You could use .13 on this. Its just a heavier string. It is quite heavy though. It will be louder and not as easy if you intend to bend any notes.
Nice! I have the cutaway version! What strings do you recommend for this one?
D'Addario 0.011 phosphor bronze 👌🏻
what?!! for beginner you say?? In my region, this guitar would good enough to support a semi-pro musician....
galih pambudi this beginners term is making me confused to be honest , cheap=they cal it beginners immediately, i don’t know why
Ok everyone. It really is about price here. You get what you pay for. I don't like the word cheap, so let's say entry level lol. That's all some people can afford and that is fine. If you want a guitar that sounds really good you will need a guitar that has solid back and sides. Go to the manufactures website and read the specs on their entire range of guitars. It will be an education and you'll know a heck of a lot more than most by the time you finish lol
@@DanielAndersonGuitarTuition The problem is the wording on videos and websites is misleading, even in your opening words on your video you say 'Fender all mahogany', when in fact it's a solid mahogany top with cheap mahogany laminate back and sides. Anyone who knows about guitars will know straight away that at that price even though it's a very good guitar it's not going to be all solid wood, but to a learner it can be very misleading.
@@ronvonryan I think I used that description as it what Fender was using for the product in question. However I very much agree that certain terms and descriptions can be misleading. A solid top is a start but the wood, craftsmanship and parts are what you pay for.
@@DanielAndersonGuitarTuition Yes they all do it, and I wish they would be more up front.
Hi Daniel,
What would you recommend as a beginner for easy playability the Fender cd60s or Epiphone dr-100?
Sorry only seeing this now Conor. I have already replied via email but for the sake of others I'll say that my recommendation would be the Fender CD60S as I've recommended these to many students and never had an issue. They also some with a solid top :)
I bought this guitar recently and just found your video. I'd be very interested in an update to see how time has treated the guitar.
Hi! I actually sold the guitar some time ago but I have a student who has one of my old ones and there's no issues :)
Hey! Have you tried the Ibanez AW54OPN? I can't decide between it and this Fender CD60S.
Martín D15m
Would you recommend the all mahogany model instead of the natural version model of this guitar?
am(all mahogany) version is better
Should I buy a solid spruce top one or the mahogany one??
Pls tell..
I have an older CD 60 mahogany version, and it sounds much much richer than the spruce counterpart
what do u recomend fender cd60s or ibanez pc12 mh?
Hi. Haven't played the pc12 so don't know. Go to your local store and ask their opinion. Also google each guitar and read the reviews from the different guitar mags. That's usually a good place to start :)
Hi .. I want to buy an acoustic guitar .. but I would like to find one in particular that is a little different .. for example, I really like the compositions of Gustavo Santaolalla, and in particular those of The last of us 1 and 2 .. and I would like to know which would be better for it to be the same sound for this type of music and many more, thank you❤
Martin 00015m
Hi , is this better than the squire sa150 ? Only I bought one three weeks ago in argos but the black finish on the fretboard has started to wear pretty bad , looks crap after a such a short space of time ? Worried if this would happen with this ? Cheers
Buy something other than cheap !
You buy crap, you get crap !
Hello! My question is regarding guitar purchase, I am beginner andneed help choosing between Yamaha F310 (200$), Yamaha F370 (guy selling new for 150$) and Fender CD-60S ALL-MAHOGANY(220$). Please help me choose best guitar because my goal is to learn on it and use it for as long as possible. Thanks!
Hi Almarone! Sorry for the very late reply which I am sure by this point is no longer relevant but if it is then go for the more expensive guitar because usually you will get better wood and or better craftsmanship!
LOOKS NICE
Is it still ok for small stature players?
Hi Raj! You could look at the fender CC-60S CONCERT which has a smaller body than the CD60
I dont think Ive ever read a bad review on a Yamaha guitar.
jake Stevens the reviews on this and the fg800 yami are both stellar.
Yamaha make good solid instruments :)
Why is the Fender CD60s better than the Yamaha FG800, which is probably the best selling beginner guitar in the world?
G I didnt say it was but for its price range its very good. YAMAHA model is more expensive 👍🏻
I own both and I'd say the yamaha has slightly better woods(tone) but the Fenders intonation and feel is spectacular for a guitar of its price. Both guitars have been set up professionally but the fender just sounds fuller, crisper and more in tune across the whole neck.
@@Marley999888
Your tone deaf...
Fenders cheap,sounds cheap..Yamaha is best
Do the frets nick your fingers while going up and down the neck?
In short no lol
Is it a great pick for music styles such as country folk,, blues and bluegrass?
Yes it's a good all rounder for beginners 👌🏻
So you didn't set it up? It was that good out of the box?
Yes these are fine when you buy them. You shouldn't need any setup.
Tratalo con cariños las guitarra amigo😁
Do you think the right arm gets tired because of the size of the guitar (too big)?
The size is good tho
Shouldn't do. You can normally use a full size from age 11 :)
360p in 2k17? but thank you so much for the rec.
MrPautinqch easy tiger
Have a question...cutaway o without cutaway
Will you be soloing? Do you have a preference in look? You decide
Hi! Yes really just your preference to be honest :)
How many years you been playing?
37 years
CD-60s or all mahogany ? cant decide 😩
Depends what you mean by all mahogany. A CD60S is now around £170
If you can get an all solid (front, back and sides) mahogany guitar that would the best. It would also cost much more too. This guitar has a solid top and laminated back and sides. For the price you are getting a lot of guitar.
Is the top mahogany or spruce?
Hi! It's long time ago now but it was all mahogany so I would say mahogany :)
Fender 60s or 140s or Yamaha FG 800
thewolverine FG800
I would go for 140s mahagony,,,
Whichever has the better components and wood!
I have the same guitar and it is definitely not a Fender. Notice how the logo has the little Rights Reserved icon next to it. This means a random Chinese company licensed the fender logo to market their POS acoustic.
Just check the serial number!
Hi! is it dangerous to buy it used?
Are there any fakes??
BaronBrownB don't think anyone would bother to fake such a cheap guitar.. It is great for the money though. Well worth it
Baron, Alan is right. I wouldn't expect there to be a fake version of this guitar as it's only a started instrument. Buying second hand can be good be you need to know the pitfalls too. I would say do your research on buying second hand. Read Read Read! :)
yer in fur a doin mate
Wow you are fast at unboxing but you'll have that peanut butter and jelly up anyway
Sounds too boxy all fenders have that sound get one before 2000. 90s fender and earlier sound way better and each hav unique s IU unds
eat-sleep-strum
Should I buy a solid spruce top one or the mahogany one??
Pls tell
Mahogany one for sure man..no doubt!!
