Actually, if anything, the way the Chairman was written in later seasons pissed me off specifically BECAUSE the thing he was outraged by was the moral corruption and unethical acts of Project Freelancer. The later scenes with him don't make sense as a result.

@Spike-Prime it's all just theatrics on his part. We see in season 7 that there's more to him than some by-the-books military leader. He was already willing to pull strings and release two war criminals in order to gain further access to Freelancer hardware.
Definitely, when I was watching it for the first time I really wasn't paying much attention to it. But now man I really wish I could watch the season again for the first time and actually listen to them.

No. Project FREELANCER was only given one AI, which was based off Dr Church's mind. The Heist we see during the Freelancer saga was them stealing a Huragok, which facilitated the capture of the splinter AIs (Delta, Epsilon, Sigma, etc) as the Alpha fragmented. The Alpha remnant and the splinter AIs were destroyed at the end of Reconstruction, except for Epsilon, who we follow through the end of the Chorus Trilogy. At the end of the Chorus story arc, Epsilon splinters himself to run the meta's suit and save the reds and blues. SPOILERS FOR RVB: RESTORATION BELOW, COCKBITES!!!!!!! Restoration shows the final end of the story. Epsilon is gone, and what remains are a bunch of recordings he made. The Meta 2.0 is the fragments of Epsilon. To beat them, Caboose, Grif, and Tucker reminisce about their adventures, and Caboose tells the story of Dr Church and his family, which recreates Tex. While the old Tex is based off the Directors memories of Allison, and thus Tex always loses, this version of Tex is based off the Reds and Blues' memories of her, where she is always kicking ass. This allows her to actually beat the Meta and use the capture device to capture the last remaining fragments (including herself). This results in a remade Epsilon (only, without his memories, I'm guessing) and Tex together at last in the capture unit. Tex has the memories now, takes Epsilon by the hand and refers to herself (finally) as Allison Church, the Director's wife. Ita good stuff, if not the strongest RVB season around.

I heard a wise scholar once said, “what it makes the man to war, but it breaks the man”.
