- From sedan chairs to a bullet-proof Ferrari, the transports used by pontiffs share a storied tradition as rich as that of the Catholic Church. Correspondent Seth Doane visits the Vatican Museum's Carriage Pavilion at Vatican City, where various modes of "popemobile" dating back centuries are on display.

The Popemobile, is one of my favorite international cars, along with Her Majesty’s Royal Car or Carriage, in Great Britain.
I love that the pope had a ‘67 VW Beetle. That was my first car.
Love and Support from INDIA.. 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳💯❤️🔥
Beautiful!!!
My grandmother organised and signed off the popemobile for the pope visit in the uk in the 1980s. She met and gave him the car for his visit. Found the paperwork last year when clearing out her bungalow, made for an interesting read.
It’s history about the popes cars and places he go to go around that way in the world 🌍!
They should do the President's limo
@@zacherymayer4847 last time a president was in a limo it didn't go so well :(
Did you know the Catholic Church is the largest landowner in the world?
no, but interesting ...
Coveting the material (materialism) is the opposite of yearning for the spiritual. I'm glad our Pope is so very spiritual. It gives me hope.
The pope will always have a nifty ride.
Nothing says humility like a throne in the back of a limousine, amiright?
He actually asked people to stop calling it the popemobile in 2007, no one has comied
May is Nakba and Motorcycle safety month. Have a good mental health awareness time 🇵🇸 Schlomlech Maryam 🌴
1:11 and I bet this one that is old af and got carried by people, is worth more than any of the motorized cars.
A Ferrari for a pope is not advisable
What would Jesus drive?
Oh yeah, a donkey.
I guess some people think they’re worth more than Jesus
I dont remember jesus or the apostles taking a chariot in their ministry.
That’s because they didn’t have a ministry back then there was no just it was just the apostle and Jesus going around preaching it’s a time of missionaries even till now missionaries don’t take huge cars or anything like this
✌🏻🙂✝️
Wonder why
Think how many starving children could have been feed with all the money the Church has spent.
"What Would Jesus Do"
The people are the Church. But since you mentioned it , The Catholic Church IS the largest charitable organization in the world.
They do feed starving children…
i guess their faith isnt enough, hence the bulletproof glass
Humans have free will and genetic illnesses like psychopathy. If someone shoots at the Pope, everyone around him is in danger. If the Vatican doesn’t take reasonable precautions, they would be partially responsible for any injuries or deaths. There’s faith and there’s accepting one’s obligations and responsibilities
I am so glad that I don’t have a need for magic men in the sky or their very flawed sycophants and disciples. The most dangerous coping mechanism ever created by man. Very few human institutions have ever caused as much pain and suffering as the Catholic Church.
Hundreds of hospitals
Hundreds of universities
Over 1000 scientific discoveries by Catholic priests including the Big Bang theory.
Very few human institutions have helped the world as much as the Catholic Church.
@Basik :
Yeah; as a matter of fact, they actually do.
@Basik Strip away the context and you can make any statement look ridiculous
LOL
It's no wonder that those who travel in those UFO's don't want to stop here and say Hi. Earthlings are the cartoon of the universe. 😅
Speak for yourself
@@boredpotato2291 I think I just did. And you make my point. 😂

I found this very interesting. I'm glad that Pope Francis is using popemobil simpler.
Where are the eccentric billionaires? Where is my popemobile demolition derby?
You know, for healing.

The whole idea of this extravagantly reverent treatment of a man is so absurdly inappropriate and hypocritical. It blows my mind that *anyone* could look at this and think this opulence is anywhere close to the spirit of how Christ behave/spoke. They are doing the exact opposite of how Christ lived and how he told us to live. There is no doubt that Christ doesn’t approve of any of this stuff. It’s not just an opinion. He said it throughout the entirety of scripture. But these people don’t care...
Which is why Jesus told us how he felt about these people in Matthew 7:21-23..
“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’”
Go far away cathoilcs
Um, how about you do that?
