When a fellow Kerbal player has problems with their SSTO, unable to get positive pitch rate for lift off, many solutions are offered. Move the rear landing gear closer to COM, shift COM aft / shift center of lift forward, increase control authority. Those are all practical, but the CORRECT way is the one you used: stonking big engine in the nose to point the craft skyward.
That pass at 4:06 was closer than planned, wasn't it :D Seriously the most inspiring videos I have ever seen. Helicopter SSTO, Ion-powered interplanetary ship and lander, spinning for Gs, you are awesome! I especially love your attention to detail, like the fuel truck and cargo loader. I would love to see your ships made in real-life. The amount of time those ion burns most have taken shows your dedication!
I started getting recommended your channel a few days ago thinking you were another 5+ year KSP UA-camr who had just gone under my radar, I was shocked to see you've only been uploading for 2 months. All of your designs are both visually interesting, mechanically unique and also shockingly functional, and the videos themselves have such a low-key ambience, I absolutely love it. Please don't stop showing off these crazy designs.
Damn Jamie, you continue to kill it. You have some of the most ingenious designs just in general. I love the way you think outside the box, like your use of the hinges and the I-beam to make a docking/lift mechanism; please keep the great forms of inspiration coming!
Some of the launch and spaceflights shots have such an iconic visual composition. I can't quite put my finger on it. It's like multiple parallax planes from an SNES game or an anime with seriously detailed backgrounds. I love it almost as much as I love your inventive spacecraft.
You continue to be such an amazing designer, Jamie! Some of the stuff you make is hard to discern from Modded stuff, it's amazing what you can do with stock!
This is incredibly awesome! Orbital assembly (which I never bother to do) of an Ion ship using a helicopter SSTO in 1 mission (without recovering crafts)? Pure awesome!
Bro, your mind. It's a beautiful thing! I giggled with excitement watching this! THIS is what KSP was meant for. And Praise from Stratenblitz?! You're the bees knees. 🤠👍🏼
How did you manage those folding rotors? If I add hinges and stuff to rotors they get really flappy and uncontrollable, and I have no idea how you indexed the rotors to fold/unfold precisely like you managed. Good work dude! Very impressive series of connected crafts
I don't understand how you get your robotic parts to behave for the duration of a mission. I've build a few cranes for mun operations but after a few back and forths between the KSC and my mun site the robotic parts would offset, until they move so far apart from the craft it's not even attached anymore but floating next to it. I wonder how you prevent this?
The best way to prevent robotic part offset is to: 1) enable autostruts between parts connected to robotic parts 2) stop and lock all robotics parts before switching to another craft
So you want to deploy rotor blades to auto gyrate at machine 5 or higher.. think there going to get ripped off.. helicopters can cope with 300 knots..but a re entry speed they would shatter or get ripped off.
Love how I cant make the most aerodynamic carfter ever fly with propeller 300× their size Then there is this man doing it with 2 propellers not even ⅓ of the size of the craft Lifting it like it is nothing
The issue I usually run into with ions is having enough power to run them or enough thrust output for them to be useful. I can't imagine being able to use them in a lander.
These designs are oozing style. Love it!
Hi stratzenblitz75!
Agreed, very well done
This is not possible
When God himself likes it, it must be good

@@jamieloganaerospace6404 is there a craft download? I want to do some testing of my own
Especially the wings/blades
One of the most impressive things I've seen in KSP. Great job.
Great work!
The launch platform is pretty cool
And I loved out you spun the Gs for during traveling
Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

Incredible. This was absolutely brilliant, I loved it!
Thanks so much!
this was so awesome!!! i am glad I just found this channel!
I've only come across this channel in the last couple of days, and your designs are by far the most fascinating I've seen in KSP from any youtuber.

Dude these creation are so cool I can't believe that your so under rated
really noice video,
the locking-mechanism on that portal-crane is sick!
impressive
Speechless. Again. Amazing work mate!
this feels so forign from normal ksp designs I love it. You're so creative!
that is epic. lots of design inspiration here.
My manz legit just sent a helicopter to space
Everything you built looks so incredible!!! Honestly I love the designs so much, I'll definitely try something similar!
Thanks!

This is Def worth a subscribe. It's so cool pls keep blessing us with this master engineering.
This made me smile. Love your videos!
This is a game that takes something extremely complicated and technical, and makes it seem more or less simple.
And it does this well.
this man is the heir to the throne of kerbal space program
it's no wonder he is a nasa engineer
Stunning design, and a great way to show it off. Hats off to you!
Thanks!
The launch procedure for the SSTO was awesome.
Man, I wish I could make insanely large SSTOs that could fly.
Good job!

Moho is such a underrated destination. Great vid!
I love the design of the SSTO and the space vessel!
Reminds me very much of the Eagle transporter spacecraft from the old T.V. show "Space 1999"
The work it took to make this must have been… ASTRONOMICAL 😎
very punny
I first heard about Kerbal Space Program from watching Scott Manly's space channel. It look really cool.
ngl, this is pretty hecking cool. Well done!
That lander is out of this world. Awesome design.
Looks like another great KSP builder to add to my sub box
At 1:44, your rotor blades collapse and fall back into line.
How. The. Hell. Did. You. Do. That?
Amazing design for landing module, appolo MK2
Love that spin gravity scheme.
Where baby chinook made from parts mined on the exoplanet? The circle of life must be complete. /jk, great mission.
Wow man. Just wow. this was crazy to watch made me buy the game and try to learn to do it myself
Deployable rotors are a clever idea; it'd be useful for a compact Laythe/Eve helicopter.

No seriously how
@@StealthTheUnknown Guess we'll never know
amazing ssto, how many times did u crash into moho with the lander, if u did?
Thanks! Only about half a dozen crashes during filming :)
Very clever solutions, well done! 😎
Holy shit your builds are beautiful
Will definitely recommend to my friends
Thanks! Glad you like it
thats great. inspirational. wish you show you building it, or a craft file, so i can take a closer look!

Love the jump up launch!

How did you get the rotor blades back into position after landing?
Why ion engines? how do you have that much patience? but still the heli pretty cool!
The ion engines look cool but the efficiency loss from the angle just drives me crazy
how'd ya do the blades? I'm curious what you used to make them go back into possition and spread out??
MEN you BIG. I watch this with open mouths
i did not expect that starting sequence. damn thats nice
can we call this style a VTTO
V-TOL TO Orbit?
You're a god damned genius!
Dude thats awesome. I cant figure out the helicopter stuff.
thats really cool. is the craft file for download?
This is amazing 😍
I still don't understand how do you fold the propellers.
Wow. How do you even plan something like this. Incredible.
remove the helicopter and use that waight for fuel and you can entry burn and landing burn // using your rocet engin
That’s a frame killer if I ever saw one
Absolutely brilliant
Amazing model of aeroplane
This is brilliant.
Jesus what did my visual cortex just process
I wonder how it would work on RSS (if it's scaleable to earth size)
Just super
a well earned sub!

Amazing Video!!!!!
And I am proud when I can make a simple Mun-lander....
that lander is badass
Thing would twist in half if you did that with anything light enough, structurally, to leave earth.
This is going to be SpaceX in like 50 years
How in be name of God do you get the robotic parts to be so stable? All of mine devolve into spaghetti.
Lock robotics parts that aren’t in motion, and use autostruts
I've tried that. I have even used manual struts on EVA, but it still goes flimsy. (Gr8 vid btw)
very bright idea

Huh, I didn't know ion engines had enough T/W to do a Mün landing
They do, and it's fairly easy to build an ion lander for Moho since solar panels generate tons of power there.
The issue I usually run into with ions is having enough power to run them or enough thrust output for them to be useful. I can't imagine being able to use them in a lander.
use sketchup for animation? 😲
I need to know, How Many attempts and quick saves did this take?
Yes

genious, but a very high amount of moving parts which can fail easily

How many hours did it take to build that?
Amazing
