Just a quick update on these 2 kits. Been using them now since March and May 2023 and have both been fantastic. My son regularly uses his on his Trek to commute to his part time job. We had one issue where the kit stopped powering the motor. We swapped some parts between the 2 kits and identified the problem to the controller. I contacted 100G support and they guided me through a firmware update. This resolved the problem and all back up and running. Excellent service, from having the issue to all working again was less than 12 hours.
Just bought rear kit , 250w motor 7.8 ah battery...about £540 ,waited about 28 days for delivery. I added the handlebar display as opposed to using my phone, much better imo, I couldnt be bothered of mounting my phone everytime i rode, plus i was worried when it rained whilst using my phone. Overall, very happy.
Great video, thanks for sharing your experience :) I'm currently trying to choose between this 100 G Geeko Kit and the Swytch Kit, mines a little more awkward as it's a 2010 Trek Fuel EX 9.9 and it's a full suspension......neither of the forks are suitable as they're the thru-axle type.....so I've got to change the front forks to be able to convert only the front wheel .....nothing is simple ;) Cheers
Hello, you have a 5.2 amp battery? What is the maximum range on flat terrain? Different levels? Is a small battery enough for the 20 km commute to work? Many thanks ❤
On level 1 we have rode both the bikes for over 20 mile with hills etc. My older son always uses his on level 3 but i dont know what range he gets. The higher levels do drain the battery much quicker obviously.
Thanks for comment. 1 year later and the kit on the Trek is still working perfectly and used several times a week. I even rode it on Saturday for a short ride.
A very informative video! Couldn't you wire cables internally? I've seen the dude from 100G was unscrewing the "bottle". Do you know if one can replace battery cells when they die over time?
I would of liked to route the cables internally but the motor connectors are too big for the holes for the gear\brake cables. Sorry no idea if the cells can be replaced.
Thanks for your review. Could you help me please? I have just installed my gecko front wheel kit and it’s not working. Can I ask you, the little red light on the PAS sensor does this come on when battery powered on? Mine doesn’t….
Sorry but i didnt see your question. If you still need any help i am sure the red light only flashes when pedalling. This video showing the sensor may help ua-cam.com/video/0KU3JAOYsJ8/v-deo.html If you still need any assistance contact 100G. I did for one issue and there support was excellent.
Have you solved this? I had to remove the plastic spacer on the front wheel when fitting the front brake disk. The brake would of be binding otherwise.
You are correct about the bottle, a larger frame would have the 2nd bottle holder and may be ok but what we have went for is a quick release handle bar bottle cage we clip it to the bars when we go out. You can see on the ride video he has a small rucksack on, that was for his drink oh and his phone :)
fitting the kits was really easy. For my son who uses his for work it was this or a moped. This was the easiest, cheapest and the better option. He is happy with it.
Great 1st video mate, ive been looking at this kit for a little while. Have you bought the rear motor kit yet ? I know the legalities of the motors but im thinking about the 500w motor as i dont ride on the roads, have you or any commentors have any experience of the bigger motor ?
Hi. Thanks for the positive comment. I have not gone for the rear motor, I'm not sure I need it. I've rode my eldests trek a couple times. Sorry no experience with larger motors.
@@garyhall3835 I don't need it for the road bikes but would be nice to go for some more adventurous trials on the mtb's. 😁 Especially exmoor and dartmoor.
Hi thanks for uploading the vid. Can you use the kit with a throttle instead of the pedal assist? All I want is to press a button/ throttle on steep hills as I have a hernia. I don't want it on all the time

we never bother with the phone either and just use a Garmin for speed and distance.

Good review of this and I have hit the thumbs up. But no mention of battery charging time.

Got the front wheel kit for my Marlin 5 . Front wheel won’t turn when I tighten bolts . Anyone have this problem or a solution

Looks great but there's nowhere to put a water bottle now. Did you solve that problem?

Looks overdue doesn't it. Glad they made an easy conversion kit.

Great 1st video 👍, I’m thinking about getting the geeko rear wheel kit and was wondering where you got the discount code??? Cheers 🍻
Hi, thanks for the comment. The discount code is on the 100g website at the top of the page. Get $50 off.
Iam waiting on a front conversion can not wait
Its worth the wait and thanks for the comment
Cheers 🍻
@@markerwin7728 I would be interested to know how you get on with the kit too.

@@davesgreatescapes there is an optional thumb throttle. Take a look at the 100g website at there options.
