Thanks man. I appreciate this. I was making a 5e superhero game and I just got burnt out trying to balance the new classes. Im glad to see there are options out there

Good superhero rpgs are so hard to come by. Always nice to see more options.

It is quite amazing how MCG visited superheroes three times.
Plus the power shifts in the Cypher Rulebook (revised) which is also a quick take on superheroes.
My one gripe with Unmasked is how the masks apparently summon supers from another reality to possess the kid and how the book implies that the mask usage could be akin to drug addiction.
(Unmasked also relies upon the unrevised Cypher System ruleset in some problematic ways.)
Origin feels very much as "Fringe meets Haven meets X-Files" in an emergent supers world.
The show Heroes way back on NBC ages ago now could be a source.
Claim the Sky is not just "Marvel" but also DC or Dark Horse or anywhere where generational heroes of a long term openly superheroic world could be met.
All FOUR versions have their uses.
And if you can, get it all.

I think you really undersold the horror content of Unmasked. I also think it's a great, original campaign setting (albeit one that's really in need of a second edition / update), but it's not a nice, happy "oh you play teenagers in the 80s". The story of what's going on is on the same level of horror as Stranger Things, except that in Unmasked using the mask also moves you closer to the monsters. It's a really dark setting.

Good take, I want to leave that kind of stuff for the actual review of the book. But you are right, on the surface it's a fun 80s setting but the horror elements are real.

One Super Hero RPG I can suggest to look for is Absolute Power it is based on Tristat rules and has a continuation of an older RPG system that was using older Tristat rules called Silver Sentinels as a setting example.

The Origin is more like X-Men some mutants discovering their powers on the fly rather than a DC one IMHO. It even suggests not telling players they are playing a superhero RPG and let them discover their powers on the fly.

I feel like The Origin is more Marvel and Claim the Sky is more DC, especially with your descriptions

Which one would be the best for a 'The Boys' game?

Nope I haven’t, I am never a fan of RPGs based on stuff from other media. I can’t really explain why
